  •    Javascript

A script for grabbing the color palette from an image. Uses Javascript and the canvas tag to make it happen. In this example, we build an 8 color palette.

sampling - Random Sampling in Clojure

  •    Clojure

sampling is available as a Maven artifact from Clojars. This library supports three flavors of random sampling: simple sampling, reservoir sampling, and stream sampling.

hdrsample - A port of HdrHistogram to Rust

  •    Rust

HdrSample is a port of Gil Tene's HdrHistogram to native Rust. It provides recording and analyzing of sampled data value counts across a large, configurable value range with configurable precision within the range. The resulting "HDR" histogram allows for fast and accurate analysis of the extreme ranges of data with non-normal distributions, like latency. What follows is a description from the HdrHistogram website. Users are encourages to read the documentation from the original Java implementation, as most of the concepts translate directly to the Rust port.

tsv-utils - eBay's TSV Utilities: Command line tools for large, tabular data files

  •    D

This is a set of command line utilities for manipulating large tabular data files. Files of numeric and text data commonly found in machine learning, data mining, and similar environments. Filtering, sampling, statistical calculations and other operations are supported. The tools were originally developed in Perl and used for day-to-day work in a large scale data mining environment. One of the tools was re-written in D as an exercise exploring the language. Significant performance gains and agreeable programmer characteristics soon led to writing additional utilities in D. Information on the D programming language is available at dlang.org.

gdbprofiler - Rich man's profiler, a profiler for native OCaml and other executables

  •    OCaml

This is a fork of Ygrek's ocaml-gdb, a gdb-based profiler for native OCaml programs. Support for writing cpuprofile files has been added, which can be viewed in Chromium's DevTools, which can be opened by pressing F12 or navigating to this page (you may need to open this page first). It also supports writing callgrind files, which can be viewed using kachegrind. Additionally, support for lldb has been added (by passing the --use-lldb command line argument). This is experimental and requires the lldb-mi executable.

deigma - Event sampler

  •    Erlang

deigma is an event sampler for Erlang/OTP and Elixir. It performs sampling of reported events within continuous one second windows[*].

poisson-disc-sampler - 🌀 a simple Bridson's algorithm implementation

  •    Javascript

This code is based on Mike Bostock's implementation of Jason Davies' implementation of Bridson's algorithm.

pg_wait_sampling - Sampling based statistics of wait events

  •    C

PostgreSQL 9.6+ provides an information about current wait event of particular process. However, in order to gather descriptive statistics of server behavior user have to sample current wait event multiple times. pg_wait_sampling is an extension for collecting sampling statistics of wait events. The module must be loaded by adding pg_wait_sampling to shared_preload_libraries in postgresql.conf, because it requires additional shared memory and launches background worker. This means that a server restart is needed to add or remove the module.
