Triton - Triton is a Dynamic Binary Analysis (DBA) framework

Triton is a dynamic binary analysis (DBA) framework. It provides internal components like a Dynamic Symbolic Execution (DSE) engine, a Taint engine, AST representations of the x86 and the x86-64 instructions set semantics, SMT simplification passes, an SMT Solver Interface and, the last but not least, Python bindings. Based on these components, you are able to build program analysis tools, automate reverse engineering and perform software verification. As Triton is still a young project, please, don't blame us if it is not yet reliable. Open issues or pull requests are always better than troll =).

manticore - Symbolic execution tool

Manticore is a symbolic execution tool for analysis of binaries and smart contracts. Manticore is supported on Linux and requires Python 2.7. Ubuntu 16.04 is strongly recommended. Ethereum smart contract analysis requires the solc program in your $PATH.

bap - Binary Analysis Platform

The Carnegie Mellon University Binary Analysis Platform (CMU BAP) is a reverse engineering and program analysis platform that works with binary code and doesn't require the source code. BAP supports multiple architectures: ARM, x86, x86-64, PowerPC, and MIPS. BAP disassembles and lifts binary code into the RISC-like BAP Instruction Language (BIL). Program analysis is performed using the BIL representation and is architecture independent in a sense that it will work equally well for all supported architectures. The platform comes with a set of tools, libraries, and plugins. The documentation and tutorial are also available. The main purpose of BAP is to provide a toolkit for implementing automated program analysis. BAP is written in OCaml and it is the preferred language to write analysis, we have bindings to C, Python and Rust. The Primus Framework also provide a Lisp-like DSL for writing program analysis tools. BAP is developed in CMU, Cylab and is sponsored by various grants from the United States Department of Defense, Siemens AG, and the Korea government, see sponsors for more information.

rizin - UNIX-like reverse engineering framework and command-line toolset.

ScratchABlock - Yet another crippled decompiler project

A: A sad truth is that most decompilers out there are crippled. Many aren't able to decompile trivial constructs, others can't decompile more advanced, those which seemingly can deal with them, are crippled by supporting only the boring architectures and OSes. And almost every written in such a way that tweaking it or adding a new architecture is complicated. A decompiler is a tool for reverse engineering, but ironically, if you want to use a typical decompiler productively or make it suit your needs, first you will need to reverse-engineer the decompiler itself, and that can easily take months (or years). The central part of a decompiler (and any program transformation framework) is Intermediate Representation (IR). A decompiler should work on IR, and should take it as an input, and conversion of a particular architecture's assembler to this IR should be well decoupled from a decompiler, or otherwise it takes extraordinary effort to add support for another architecture (which in turn limits userbase of a decompiler).

dg - [LLVM Static Slicer] Dependence graph for programs

Dg is a library which implements dependence graphs for programs. It contains a set of generic templates that can be specialized to user's needs. Dg can be used for different analyses, optimizations or program slicing (we currently use it for the last one in our tool called Symbiotic: https://github.com/staticafi/symbiotic). As a part of dg, you can find pointer analyses, reaching definitions analysis and a static slicer for LLVM. Whole project is under developement and lacks documentation for now, so in the case of need, contact us by an e-mail (below).

bixie - Inconsistent code detection for Java.

Check our the Online Demo. Bixie is a static analysis tool that detects inconsistencies in Java bytecode. An inconsistency occurs when code must throw an exception or is unreachable because because of assumptions made by other statements.

bap-python - BAP python bindings

Alternatively you can just copy paste files into your project, or clone it with git-subtree. The low-level interface provides an access to disassembler and image loader. It uses RPC interface to make calls to the library. So make sure that you have installed requests and bap-server (see Installation section).

ikos - Static analyzer for C/C++ based on the theory of Abstract Interpretation.

IKOS (Inference Kernel for Open Static Analyzers) is a static analyzer for C/C++ based on the theory of Abstract Interpretation. IKOS started as a C++ library designed to facilitate the development of sound static analyzers based on Abstract Interpretation. Specialization of a static analyzer for an application or family of applications is critical for achieving both precision and scalability. Developing such an analyzer is arduous and requires significant expertise in Abstract Interpretation.

PATDroid - A Program Analysis Toolkit for Android

The master branch is the nightly dev branch, which could diverge greatly from the maven artifacts. Here is a one-sentence description for each package. Find the detailed usage tutorials on our wiki by clicking on the package name to redirect to their wiki pages. Most public APIs are Java-doced. PATDroid requires Java6+. It goes well with Oracle/OpenJDK 1.6, 1.7, Dalvik (Yes, you can run it on a smartphone). Gradle (wrapper) is the default build system. You can import the project to IntelliJ IDEA (File->Import from Gradle Project) and Eclipse (similar).

cwe_checker - cwe_checker finds vulnerable patterns in binary executables

cwe_checker is a suite of tools to detect common bug classes such as use of dangerous functions and simple integer overflows. These bug classes are formally known as Common Weakness Enumerations (CWEs). Its main goal is to aid analysts to quickly find vulnerable code paths. Its main focus are ELF binaries that are commonly found on Linux and Unix operating systems. cwe_checker is built on top of BAP(Binary Analysis Platform). By using BAP, we are not restricted to one low level instruction set architectures like Intel x86. BAP lifts several of them to one common intermediate representation (IR). cwe_checker implements its analyses on this IR. At time of writing, BAP 1.6 supports Intel x86/x64, ARM, MIPS, and PPC amongst others. Hence, this makes cwe_checker a valuable tool for firmware analysis.
