vue-meta - Manage page meta info in Vue 2.0 components. SSR + Streaming supported.

  •    Javascript

vue-meta is a Vue 2.0 plugin that allows you to manage your app's meta information, much like react-helmet does for React. However, instead of setting your data as props passed to a proprietary component, you simply export it as part of your component's data using the metaInfo property. These properties, when set on a deeply nested component, will cleverly overwrite their parent components' metaInfo, thereby enabling custom info for each top-level view as well as coupling meta info directly to deeply nested subcomponents for more maintainable code.

maintainers-guide-to-staying-positive - Don't let the trolls get you down! Use this as a reference to avoid open-source burnout and keep doing what you love: writing code! Contributions and any kind of improvements are very welcome!

This guide was written by me, Jon Schlinkert, programmer, public speaker and author of more than 1,100 code projects. I have published code projects in several different languages, but most are JavaScript. 60+ of my projects receive more than 1 million downloads/month, with the total exceeding 380 million downloads/month. This brief guide is a distillation of my experiences as a maintainer. If you find this useful (and I hope you do!), please consider following me on github or twitter to receive updates about this and other projects I maintain.

gostatic - Go Static

Static means generating content once (or rather on every change), rather than every time the content is requested. The speed and efficiency at scale can be up to 8 times faster and therefore 8 times cheaper. Nothing loads in a browser faster than a plain html file. Classic webapplications or CMS (like Wordpress, Joomla) generate the html every time they receive a request from a visitor. Once that happens they have to query the database and run through many code to generate the html for the browser. Depending on the used software, hardware and amount of requests this generating needs time which can amount to seconds. If there is massive increase in traffic and sites overload, this will cause them to slow down or even become unavailable temporarily (called slashdot effect). Most sites use web caching to avoid this.
