fontsource - Self-host Open Source fonts in neatly bundled NPM packages.

  •    CSS

Alternatively, you can see the list of supported fonts in Markdown format here. Self-hosting brings significant performance gains as loading fonts from hosted services, such as Google Fonts, lead to an extra (render blocking) network request. To provide perspective, for simple websites it has been seen to double visual load times. Benchmarks can be found here and here.

php-font-lib - A library to read, parse, export and make subsets of different types of font files.

  •    PHP

3270font - A 3270 font in a modern format

  •    Makefile

This font is derived from the x3270 font, which, in turn, was translated from the one in Georgia Tech's 3270tool, which was itself hand-copied from a 3270 series terminal. I built it because I felt terminals deserve to be pretty. The .sfd font file contains a x3270 bitmap font that was used for guidance. If you are running Debian or Ubuntu and you don't want to mess with building your font files, you can simply apt-get install fonts-3270 (It's available from the Debian (https://packages.debian.org/sid/fonts/fonts-3270) and Ubuntu (http://packages.ubuntu.com/zesty/fonts-3270) package repos at https://packages.debian.org/sid/fonts/fonts-3270 and http://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial/fonts/fonts-3270, although the packaged version may not be the latest version, but it's good enough for most purposes. For those who don't have the luxury of a proper system-managed package, Adobe Type 1, TTF, OTF and WOFF versions are available for download on http://s3.amazonaws.com/3270font/3270_fonts_b3b4b7d.zip (although this URL may not always reflect the latest version).

grunt-embed-fonts - Embeds webfont files to CSS stylesheets as base64-encoded data URIs to prevent CORS problems

  •    Javascript

This module provides a grunt multi-task injecting content of font files into stylesheets using data URIs. When you develop a HTML5 component, your styling may include special fonts. If the page, which hosts your component has not the same origin, the server has to include the CORS headers in the response with the font file (Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * at least) according to the W3C Font fetching requirements. You should always try to configure the web server to do it to get the best performance. If you cannot, you can embed the fonts in the CSS files by this task, but the size of the base64-encoded fonts for the page to load will be circa 35% greater. Additionally, the browser will load all fonts immediately with the stylesheet, otherwise only the needed font faces and formats would be downloaded.
