CleverAlgorithms - An open source book that describes a large number of algorithmic techniques from the the fields of Biologically Inspired Computation, Computational Intelligence and Metaheuristics in a complete, consistent, and centralized manner such that they are accessible, usable, and understandable

  •    TeX

Clever Algorithms: Nature-Inspired Programming Recipes is an open source book that describes a large number of algorithmic techniques from the the fields of Biologically Inspired Computation, Computational Intelligence and Metaheuristics in a complete, consistent, and centralized manner such that they are accessible, usable, and understandable. This is a repository for the book project used during the development and ongoing maintenance of the books’ content. Implementing an Artificial Intelligence algorithm is difficult. Algorithm descriptions may be incomplete, inconsistent, and distributed across a number of papers, chapters and even websites. This can result in varied interpretations of algorithms, undue attrition of algorithms, and ultimately bad science. This book is an effort to address these issues by providing a handbook of algorithmic recipes drawn from the fields of Metaheuristics, Biologically Inspired Computation and Computational Intelligence, described in a complete, consistent, and centralized manner. These standardized descriptions were carefully designed to be accessible, usable, and understandable. Most of the algorithms described were originally inspired by biological and natural systems, such as the adaptive capabilities of genetic evolution and the acquired immune system, and the foraging behaviors of birds, bees, ants and bacteria. An encyclopedic algorithm reference, this book is intended for research scientists, engineers, students, and interested amateurs. Each algorithm description provides a working code example in the Ruby Programming Language.

intermission - intermission helps you perform zero down time application maintenance

  •    Lua

intermission is a bit of OpenResty magic written in Lua to help you perform zero down time maintenance. At 37signals we use this to perform application maintenance with limited/no impact to the user. In our use cases, we "hold" the users requests for less than 10 seconds while we do our database maintenance via mysql_role_swap. The user sees a single long request, and things carry right along.Put an incoming web request on hold long enough to do bad things behind the scenes. Release the incoming requests in the same order they were received. Has zero dependencies.

SQL Server History Cleanup

  •

Clean up backup history, job history and maintenance plan history without using a maintenance plan. The functionality is similar to the History Cleanup Task in a maintenance plan.

understandinges6 - Content for the ebook "Understanding ECMAScript 6"

  •

ECMAScript 6 represents the biggest change to the core of JavaScript in the history of the language. Not only does the sixth edition add new object types, but also new syntax and exciting new capabilities. The result of years of study and debate, ECMAScript 6 reached feature complete status in 2014. While it will take a bit of time before all JavaScript environments support ECMAScript 6, it's still useful to understand what's coming and which features are available already. This book is a guide for the transition between ECMAScript 5 and 6. It is not specific to any JavaScript environment, so it is equally useful to web developers as it is Node.js developers.

NAXSI - High performance, low rules maintenance WAF for NGINX

  •    C

NAXSI means Nginx Anti XSS & SQL Injection. NAXSI is an open-source, high performance, low rules maintenance WAF for NGINX. Technically, it is a third party nginx module, available as a package for many UNIX-like platforms. This module, by default, reads a small subset of simple (and readable) rules containing 99% of known patterns involved in website vulnerabilities. For example, <, | or drop are not supposed to be part of a URI.

pmtk3 - Probabilistic Modeling Toolkit for Matlab/Octave.

  •    HTML

PMTK is a collection of Matlab/Octave functions, written by Matt Dunham, Kevin Murphy and various other people. The toolkit is primarily designed to accompany Kevin Murphy's textbook Machine learning: a probabilistic perspective, but can also be used independently of this book. The goal is to provide a unified conceptual and software framework encompassing machine learning, graphical models, and Bayesian statistics (hence the logo). (Some methods from frequentist statistics, such as cross validation, are also supported.) Since December 2011, the toolbox is in maintenance mode, meaning that bugs will be fixed, but no new features will be added (at least not by Kevin or Matt). PMTK builds on top of several existing packages, available from pmtksupport, and provides a unified interface to them. In addition, it provides readable "reference" implementations of many common machine learning techniques. The vast majority of the code is written in Matlab. (For a brief discussion of why we chose Matlab, click here. Most of the code also runs on Octave an open-source Matlab clone.) However, in a few cases we also provide wrappers to implementations written in C, for speed reasons. PMTK currently (October 2010) has over 67,000 lines.

palladium - Framework for setting up predictive analytics services

  •    Python

Palladium provides means to easily set up predictive analytics services as web services. It is a pluggable framework for developing real-world machine learning solutions. It provides generic implementations for things commonly needed in machine learning, such as dataset loading, model training with parameter search, a web service, and persistence capabilities, allowing you to concentrate on the core task of developing an accurate machine learning model. Having a well-tested core framework that is used for a number of different services can lead to a reduction of costs during development and maintenance due to harmonization of different services being based on the same code base and identical processes. Palladium has a web service overhead of a few milliseconds only, making it possible to set up services with low response times. A configuration file lets you conveniently tie together existing components with components that you developed. As an example, if what you want to do is to develop a model where you load a dataset from a CSV file or an SQL database, and train an SVM classifier to predict one of the rows in the data given the others, and then find out about your model's accuracy, then that's what Palladium allows you to do without writing a single line of code. However, it is also possible to independently integrate own solutions.
