govcr - HTTP mock for Golang: record and replay HTTP/HTTPS interactions for offline testing

  •        18

Records and replays HTTP / HTTPS interactions for offline unit / behavioural / integration tests thereby acting as an HTTP mock. This project was inspired by php-vcr which is a PHP port of VCR for ruby.

yakbak - Record and playback HTTP responses

  •    Javascript

Record HTTP interactions The Node Way™. Inspired by ruby's vcr. Then develop or run your tests. If a recorded HTTP request is found on disk, it will be played back instead of hitting the target host. If no recorded request is found, the request will be forwarded to the target host and recorded to disk.

vcrpy - Automatically mock your HTTP interactions to simplify and speed up testing

  •    Python

This is a Python version of Ruby's VCR library. If the server you are testing against ever changes its API, all you need to do is delete your existing cassette files, and run your tests again. VCR.py will detect the absence of a cassette file and once again record all HTTP interactions, which will update them to correspond to the new API.

sepia - Sepia is a VCR-like module for node

  •    Javascript

Sepia is a VCR-like module for node.js that records HTTP interactions, then plays them back exactly like the first time they were invoked. Sepia was created to isolate a server from its remote downstream dependencies, for speed and fault-tolerence. Sepia should work with any HTTP library in node.js that uses http#request and https#request. In practice, it has been extensively tested against the request module, and there is a test to ensure it works with the then-request module.

Mocky - Generate custom HTTP responses, the simpler way to test your Web Services

  •    TypeScript

Mocky is a simple app which allows to generate custom HTTP responses. It's helpful when you have to request a build-in-progress WS, when you want to mock the backend response in a single app, or when you want to test your WS client. Mocky is a free and unlimited online service, accessible on https://www.mocky.io. Read the FAQ for more information about allowed usage.

pact-ruby - Enables consumer driven contract testing, providing a mock service and DSL for the consumer project, and interaction playback and verification for the service provider project

  •    Ruby

Define a pact between service consumers and providers, enabling "consumer driven contract" testing. Pact provides a fluent API for service consumers to define the HTTP requests they will make to a service provider and the HTTP responses they expect back. These expectations are used in the consumer specs to provide a mock service provider. The interactions are recorded, and played back in the service provider specs to ensure the service provider actually does provide the response the consumer expects.

flashback - mock the internet

  •    Java

Flashback is designed to mock HTTP and HTTPS resources, like web services and REST APIs, for testing purposes. It records HTTP/HTTPS requests and plays back a previously recorded HTTP transaction—which we call a "scene"—so that no external connection to the internet is required in order to complete testing.Note: The flashback and flashback scene are used for testing purpose only. Each scene contains a list of Http request and response. Those http request and response might contain some sensitive data such as api key, secret, token etc. You'd better either blacklist them using customized match rule or mask them.

exvcr - HTTP request/response recording library for elixir, inspired by VCR.

  •    Elixir

Record and replay HTTP interactions library for elixir. It's inspired by Ruby's VCR (https://github.com/vcr/vcr), and trying to provide similar functionalities. The following HTTP libraries can be applied.

mockbin - Mock, Test & Track HTTP Requests and Responses.

  •    Javascript

Mockbin is used internally and maintained by Mashape, who also maintain the open-source API Gateway Kong. read more on Installation.

GoBench - HTTP/HTTPS load testing and benchmarking tool

  •    Go

GoBench is a HTTP/HTTPS load testing and benchmarking tool. Its requests hits and requests rate are 5X better than other testing tools.

HTTPretty - HTTP client mocking tool for Python, it's like ruby's FakeWeb for python

  •    Python

Due to big API incompatibility between python 3.3, 3.4 and 3.5, the author of HTTPretty is not supporting python3 officially. You will notice that the travis build for python 3 might be broken, and while pull requests fixing py3 support are most welcome, it is still not official at least for now. Since you are interested in HTTPretty you should also be interested in speeding up your build. Replace pip with curdling and see your build running a lot faster.

node-mocks-http - Mock 'http' objects for testing Express routing functions

  •    Javascript

Mock 'http' objects for testing Express routing functions, but could be used for testing any Node.js web server applications that have code that requires mockups of the request and response objects. This project is available as a NPM package.

Smocker - Simple and efficient HTTP mock server

  •    Go

Smocker (server mock) is a simple and efficient HTTP mock server. Smocker exposes two ports: Port 8080 is the mock server port. It will expose the routes you register through the configuration port and Port 8081 is the configuration port. It's the port you will use to register new mocks. This port also exposes a user interface.

Linux Desktop Testing Project

Linux Desktop Testing Project is aimed at producing high quality test automation framework (using GNOME / Python) and cutting-edge tools that can be used to test Linux Desktop and improve it. It uses the Accessibility libraries to poke through the application's user interface. We strive to help in building a quality desktop.

Polly.JS - Record, Replay, and Stub HTTP Interactions

  •    Javascript

Polly.JS is a standalone, framework-agnostic JavaScript library that enables recording, replaying, and stubbing of HTTP interactions. By tapping into multiple request APIs across both Node & the browser, Polly.JS is able to mock requests and responses with little to no configuration while giving you the ability to take full control of each request with a simple, powerful, and intuitive API.

Selenium - Web app testing tool

  •    Java

Selenium is a suite of tools such as Selenium IDE, Selenium Remote Control and Selenium Grid to test the web application. Selenium IDE is an integrated development environment for Selenium scripts. It is implemented as a Firefox extension, and allows you to record, edit, and debug tests. It supports record and playback.

karate - Test Automation Made Simple

  •    Java

Karate is the only open-source tool to combine API test-automation, mocks, performance-testing and even UI automation into a single, unified framework. The BDD syntax popularized by Cucumber is language-neutral, and easy for even non-programmers. Powerful JSON & XML assertions are built-in, and you can run tests in parallel for speed.

Mock Service Worker - Seamless REST/GraphQL API mocking library for browser and Node

  •    Javascript

Mock by intercepting requests on the network level. Seamlessly reuse the same mock definition for testing, development, and debugging. Browser usage is what sets Mock Service Worker apart from other tools. Utilizing the Service Worker API that intercepts requests for the purpose of caching, Mock Service Worker responds to captured requests with your mock definition on the network level. This way your application knows nothing about the mocking.

DVR - Network testing for Swift

  •    Swift

DVR is a simple Swift framework for making fake NSURLSession requests for iOS, watchOS, and OS X based on VCR. This will playback the example cassette. The completion handler exactly the same way it normally would. In this example, DVR will look for a cassette named example.json in your test bundle.

mountebank - Over the wire test doubles

  •    HTML

In fact, halfway through we discovered our corporate mocking software couldn’t handle the sheer amount of performance testing we were running as part of this effort (we completely crushed some pretty industrial enterprise software in the process). As a result, we made the call to move the entire program over to a Mountebank OSS-based solution with a custom provision to give us the ability to expand/shrink our mocking needs on demand. mountebank is the first open source tool to provide cross-platform, multi-protocol test doubles over the wire. Just point your application to mountebank instead of the real dependency, and test like you would with traditional stubs and mocks.
