usethis is a workflow package: it automates repetitive tasks that arise during project setup and development, both for R packages and non-package projects. Most use_*() functions operate on the active project: literally, a directory on your computer. If you’ve just used usethis to create a new package or project, that will be the active project. Otherwise, usethis verifies that current working directory is or is below a valid project directory and that becomes the active project. Use proj_get() or proj_sitrep() to manually query the project and read more in the docs.

radiant - Business analytics using R and Shiny

Radiant is an open-source platform-independent browser-based interface for business analytics in R. The application is based on the Shiny package and can be run locally or on a server. Radiant was developed by Vincent Nijs. Please use the issue tracker on GitHub to suggest enhancements or report problems: https://github.com/radiant-rstats/radiant/issues. For other questions and comments please use radiant@rady.ucsd.edu. Radiant is interactive. Results update immediately when inputs are changed (i.e., no separate dialog boxes) and/or when a button is pressed (e.g., Estimate in Model > Estimate > Logistic regression (GLM)). This facilitates rapid exploration and understanding of the data.

engsoccerdata - English and European soccer results 1871-2017

This R package is mainly a repository for complete soccer datasets, along with some built-in functions for analyzing parts of the data. Currently I include three English ones (League data, FA Cup data, Playoff data - described below), several European leagues (Spain, Germany, Italy, Holland, France, Belgium, Portugal, Turkey, Scotland, Greece) as well as South Africa and MLS. hrbrthemes - :lock_with_ink_pen: Opinionated, typographic-centric ggplot2 themes and theme components

This is a very focused package that provides typography-centric themes and theme components for ggplot2. It’s a an extract/riff of hrbrmisc created by request. The core theme: theme_ipsum (“ipsum” is Latin for “precise”) uses Arial Narrow which should be installed on practically any modern system, so it’s “free”-ish. This font is condensed, has solid default kerning pairs and geometric numbers. That’s what I consider the “font trifecta” must-have for charts. An additional quality for fonts for charts is that they have a diversity of weights. Arial Narrow (the one on most systems, anyway) does not have said diversity but this quality is not (IMO) a “must have”.

networkD3 - D3 JavaScript Network Graphs from R

knitr - A general-purpose tool for dynamic report generation in R

The R package knitr is a general-purpose literate programming engine, with lightweight API's designed to give users full control of the output without heavy coding work. It combines many features into one package with slight tweaks motivated from my everyday use of Sweave. See the package homepage for details and examples. Note that if you want to build the source package via R CMD INSTALL without a previously installed version of knitr, you must either pre-install knitr from CRAN, or run R CMD INSTALL on this source repo, otherwise R CMD build will fail (which is probably a bug of base R).

tidybayes - Bayesian analysis + tidy data + geoms (R package)

tidybayes is an R package that aims to make it easy to integrate popular Bayesian modeling methods into a tidy data + ggplot workflow. Composing data for use with the model. This often means translating data from a data.frame into a list , making sure factors are encoded as numerical data, adding variables to store the length of indices, etc. This package helps automate these operations using the compose_data function, which automatically handles data types like numeric, logical, factor, and ordinal, and allows easy extensions for converting other datatypes into a format the model understands by providing your own implementation of the generic as_data_list.

timevis - Create interactive timeline visualizations in R

Timelines can be included in Shiny apps and R markdown documents, or viewed from the R console and RStudio Viewer. timevis includes an extensive API to manipulate a timeline after creation, and supports getting data out of the visualization into R. This package is based on the vis.js Timeline module and the htmlwidgets R package.

DiagrammeR - Graph and network visualization using tabular data in R

With the DiagrammeR package you can create, modify, analyze, and visualize network graph diagrams. The output can be incorporated into RMarkdown documents, integrated with Shiny web apps, converted to other graph formats, or exported as image files. This package is made possible by the htmlwidgets R package, which provides an easy-to-use framework for bringing together R and JavaScript.

xaringan - Presentation Ninja 幻灯忍者 · 写轮眼

An R package for creating slideshows with remark.js through R Markdown. The package name xaringan comes from Sharingan, a dōjutsu in Naruto with two abilities: the "Eye of Insight" and the "Eye of Hypnotism". A presentation ninja should have these basic abilities, and I think remark.js may help you acquire these abilities, even if you are not a member of the Uchiha clan. If you use RStudio, it is easy to get started from the menu File -> New File -> R Markdown -> From Template -> Ninja Presentation, and you will see an R Markdown example. Press the Knit button to compile it, or use the RStudio Addin Infinite Moon Reader to live preview the slides (every time you update and save the Rmd document, the slides will be automatically reloaded; make sure the Rmd document is on focus when you click the addin). Please see the issue #2 if you do not see the template or addin in RStudio.

future - :rocket: R package: future: Unified Parallel and Distributed Processing in R for Everyone

The purpose of the future package is to provide a very simple and uniform way of evaluating R expressions asynchronously using various resources available to the user. In programming, a future is an abstraction for a value that may be available at some point in the future. The state of a future can either be unresolved or resolved. As soon as it is resolved, the value is available instantaneously. If the value is queried while the future is still unresolved, the current process is blocked until the future is resolved. It is possible to check whether a future is resolved or not without blocking. Exactly how and when futures are resolved depends on what strategy is used to evaluate them. For instance, a future can be resolved using a sequential strategy, which means it is resolved in the current R session. Other strategies may be to resolve futures asynchronously, for instance, by evaluating expressions in parallel on the current machine or concurrently on a compute cluster.
