serial-port-json-server - A serial port JSON websocket server for Windows, Mac, Linux, Raspberry Pi, or BeagleBone Black that lets you communicate with your serial port from a web application

  •    Go

A serial port JSON websocket & web server that runs from the command line on Windows, Mac, Linux, Raspberry Pi, or Beagle Bone that lets you communicate with your serial port from a web application. This enables web apps to be written that can communicate with your local serial device such as an Arduino, CNC controller, or any device that communicates over the serial port. Since version 1.82 you can now also program your Arduino by uploading a hex file. The app is written in Go. It has an embedded web server and websocket server. The server runs on the standard port of localhost:8989. You can connect to it locally with your browser to interact by visiting http://localhost:8989. The websocket is technically running at ws://localhost/ws. You can of course connect to your websocket from any other computer to bind in remotely. For example, just connect to ws://192.168.1.10/ws if you are on a remote host where 192.168.1.10 is your devices actual IP address.

SuperWebSocket - SuperWebSocket is a .NET implementation of WebSocket server.

  •    CSharp

WebSocket is a technology providing for bi-directional, full-duplex communications channels, over a single Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) socket. It is designed to be implemented in web browsers and web servers but it can be used by any client or server application. The WebSocket API is being standardized by the W3C and the WebSocket protocol is being standardized by the IETF. Please refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebSockets.SuperWebSocket is being merged into SuperSocket as an additional module SuperSocket.WebSocket. You can use SuperSocket.WebSocket in the same way with SuperWebSocket but with a different namespace.

Simple-WebSocket-Server - A very simple, fast, multithreaded, platform independent WebSocket (WS) and WebSocket Secure (WSS) server and client library implemented using C++11, Boost

  •    C++

A very simple, fast, multithreaded, platform independent WebSocket (WS) and WebSocket Secure (WSS) server and client library implemented using C++11, Asio (both Boost.Asio and standalone Asio can be used) and OpenSSL. Created to be an easy way to make WebSocket endpoints in C++. See https://github.com/eidheim/Simple-Web-Server for an easy way to make REST resources available from C++ applications. Also, feel free to check out the new C++ IDE supporting C++11/14/17: https://github.com/cppit/jucipp.

Gorilla WebSocket - A WebSocket implementation for Go.

  •    Go

Gorilla WebSocket is a Go implementation of the WebSocket protocol.The Gorilla WebSocket package provides a complete and tested implementation of the WebSocket protocol. It passes Autobahn Test Suite, Receive fragmented message, Send pings and receive pongs, Read message using io.Reader, Write message using io.WriteCloser and lot more.

Java-WebSocket - A barebones WebSocket client and server implementation written in 100% Java.

  •    Java

A barebones WebSocket client and server implementation written in 100% Java. The underlying classes are implemented java.nio, which allows for a non-blocking event-driven model (similar to the WebSocket API for web browsers).

zerogw - A fast HTTP/WebSocket to zeromq gateway (UNMAINTAINED, take a look at swindon web server instead)

  •    C

Zerogw is a http to zeromq gateway. Which means it listens HTTP, parses request and sends it using zeromq socket (ZMQ_REQ). Then waits for the reply and responds with data received from zeromq socket. Starting with v0.3 zerogw also supports WebSockets. Websockets are implemented by forwarding incoming messages using ZMQ_PUB socket, and listening commands from ZMQ_SUB socket. Each WebSocket client can be subscribed to unlimited number of topics. Each zeromq message it either control message (e.g. subscription) or message to a specified topic which will be efficiently sent to every WebSocket subscribed to that particular topic.

drab - Remote controlled frontend framework for Phoenix.

  •    Elixir

Drab extends Phoenix Framework to "remote control" UI on the browser, live. The idea is to move all User Interface logic to the server-side, to eliminate Javascript and Ajax calls. First at all, you need to have a Phoenix application, on top of which you will install Drab. If this is a standard app, generated with mix phx.new, you may use Drab Installer to make it running in one, simple step. Otherwise, see Manual Installation section below.

Websocket - The Hoa\Websocket library.

  •    PHP

Hoa is a modular, extensible and structured set of PHP libraries. Moreover, Hoa aims at being a bridge between industrial and research worlds. This library allows to manipulate the WebSocket protocol and proposes a server and a client. It supports two specifications RFC6455 and Hybi (at the same time).

faye-websocket-node - Standards-compliant WebSocket client and server

  •    Javascript

This is a general-purpose WebSocket implementation extracted from the Faye project. It provides classes for easily building WebSocket servers and clients in Node. It does not provide a server itself, but rather makes it easy to handle WebSocket connections within an existing Node application. It does not provide any abstraction other than the standard WebSocket API. It also provides an abstraction for handling EventSource connections, which are one-way connections that allow the server to push data to the client. They are based on streaming HTTP responses and can be easier to access via proxies than WebSockets.

WebSocket++ - C++ Websocket client/server library

  •    C++

WebSocket++ is a header only C++ library that implements RFC6455 The WebSocket Protocol. It allows integrating WebSocket client and server functionality into C++ programs. It uses interchangeable network transport modules including one based on raw char buffers, one based on C++ iostreams, and one based on Asio (either via Boost or standalone). End users can write additional transport policies to support other networking or event libraries as needed.

websocket-sharp - A C# implementation of the WebSocket protocol client and server

  •    CSharp

websocket-sharp is built as a single assembly, websocket-sharp.dll.websocket-sharp is developed with MonoDevelop. So a simple way to build is to open websocket-sharp.sln and run build for websocket-sharp project with any of the build configurations (e.g. Debug) in MonoDevelop.

websocket-ruby - Universal Ruby library to handle WebSocket protocol

  •    Ruby

Universal Ruby library to handle WebSocket protocol. It focuses on providing abstraction layer over WebSocket API instead of providing server or client functionality. In order to use native extension just install websocket-native gem or add it to Gemfile - WebSocket will automatically detect and load it.

faye-websocket-ruby - Standards-compliant WebSocket client and server

  •    Ruby

This is a general-purpose WebSocket implementation extracted from the Faye project. It provides classes for easily building WebSocket servers and clients in Ruby. It does not provide a server itself, but rather makes it easy to handle WebSocket connections within an existing Rack application. It does not provide any abstraction other than the standard WebSocket API. It also provides an abstraction for handling EventSource connections, which are one-way connections that allow the server to push data to the client. They are based on streaming HTTP responses and can be easier to access via proxies than WebSockets.

easywsclient - A short and sweet WebSocket client for C++

  •    C++

Easywsclient is an easy and powerful WebSocket client to get your C++ code connected to a web stack right away. It depends only on the standard libraries. It is compatible with modern C++11 std::function and lambda, if they're available (it's not required though). RFC 6455 Version 13 WebSocket is supported. Version 13 is compatible with all major, modern WebSocket implementations, including Node.js, and has been a standard since December 2011. Rationale: This library is intended to help a C++ project start using WebSocket rapidly. This small library can easily be thrown into an existing project. For complicated builds that you can't figure out right away, you can even cheat by piggy-backing the .cpp file into one of the project's existing files. Yes, WebSocket is that awesome enough to warrant getting it integrated into your project! This project imposes no special interface requirements, and can work happily with new C++11 features or with older C++ projects.
