remote-browser - A low-level browser automation framework built on top of the Web Extensions API standard

  •    Javascript

Remote Browser is a library for controlling web browsers like Chrome and Firefox programmatically using JavaScript. You've likely heard of similar browser automation frameworks before, such as Puppeteer and Selenium. Much like these other projects, Remote Browser can be used to accomplish a wide variety of tasks relating to UI testing, Server Side Rendering (SSR), and web scraping. What makes Remote Browser different from these other libraries is that it's built using standard cross-browser compatible technologies, and its primary goal is to facilitate interactions with existing APIs rather than to create a new one of its own. Remote Browser provides a minimalistic and lightweight framework for automating browsers using vanilla JavaScript, HTML browsing contexts, and the Web Extensions API. If you're already familiar with these technologies, then you already know almost everything that you need to use Remote Browser. If not, then there are vast learning resources out there, like The Mozilla Developer Network (MDN), which can get you up to speed in no time. Be sure to check out the Introduction, the Interactive Tour, and Usage Examples to learn about how Remote Browser makes it easy to use these technologies.

electron-remote - Execute JavaScript in remote Electron processes, but more betterer

  •    Javascript

electron-remote provides an alternative to Electron's remote module based around Promises instead of synchronous execution. It also provides an automatic way to use BrowserWindows as "background processes" that auto-scales based on usage, similar to Grand Central Dispatch or the .NET TPL Taskpool. Remote is super convenient! But it also has some downsides - its main downside is that its action is synchronous. This means that both the main and window processes will wait for a method to finish running. Even for quick methods, calling it too often can introduce scroll jank and generally cause performance problems.

circuitbreaker - Circuit Breakers in Go

  •    Go

Circuitbreaker provides an easy way to use the Circuit Breaker pattern in a Go program.Circuit breakers are typically used when your program makes remote calls. Remote calls can often hang for a while before they time out. If your application makes a lot of these requests, many resources can be tied up waiting for these time outs to occur. A circuit breaker wraps these remote calls and will trip after a defined amount of failures or time outs occur. When a circuit breaker is tripped any future calls will avoid making the remote call and return an error to the caller. In the meantime, the circuit breaker will periodically allow some calls to be tried again and will close the circuit if those are successful.
