vis - A vi-like editor based on Plan 9's structural regular expressions

  •    C

Vis aims to be a modern, legacy free, simple yet efficient editor combining the strengths of both vi(m) and sam. It extends vi's modal editing with built-in support for multiple cursors/selections and combines it with sam's structural regular expression based command language.

Oni - new kind of editor, powered by Neovim

  •    TypeScript

Oni is a new kind of editor, focused on maximizing productivity - combining modal editing with features you expect in modern editors. Oni is built with neovim, and inspired by VSCode, Atom, LightTable, and Emacs. The vision of Oni is to build an editor that allows you to go from thought to code as easily as possible - bringing together the raw editing power of Vim, the feature capabilities of Atom/VSCode, and a powerful and intuitive extensibility model - wrapped up in a beautiful package. This repository is under active development, and until 1.0 please consider everything unstable.

Vim

  •    C

Vim is a highly configurable text editor built to enable efficient text editing. It is an improved version of the vi editor distributed with most UNIX systems.

tiled - A generic tile map editor

  •    C++

Tiled is a general purpose tile map editor. It is meant to be used for editing maps of any tile-based game, be it an RPG, a platformer or a Breakout clone. Tiled is very flexible, for example there are no restrictions on map size, tile size or the number of layers or tiles. Also, it allows arbitrary properties to be set on the map, its layers, the tiles or on the objects. Its map format (TMX) is relatively easy to understand and allows a map to use multiple tilesets while also allowing each tileset to grow or shrink as necessary later.

Komodo Edit supports PHP, Python, Ruby, Perl and Tcl, plus JavaScript, CSS, HTML and template languages like RHTML, Template-Toolkit, HTML-Smarty and Django.

de - A Programmer's Text Editor

  •    Go

It's kind of like a bastard child of vim and Plan 9's acme editor, because vim feels inadequate on a computer with a mouse after using acme, and acme feels inadequate on a computer with a keyboard after using vi. Like vim, it's a modal editor with syntax highlighting that uses hjkl for movement. Like acme, it attempts to exploit your current OS environment instead of replacing it and tries to make the mouse useful.

MarkdownEditing - Powerful Markdown package for Sublime Text with better syntax understanding and good color schemes

  •    Python

Markdown plugin for Sublime Text. Provides a decent Markdown color scheme (light and dark) with more robust syntax highlighting and useful Markdown editing features for Sublime Text. 3 flavors are supported: Standard Markdown, GitHub flavored Markdown, MultiMarkdown. Dark and Yellow and ArcDark theme available, plus thirdparty themes. See configuration section to learn how to change the theme.

vim - The official Vim repository

  •    C

Vim is a greatly improved version of the good old UNIX editor Vi. Many new features have been added: multi-level undo, syntax highlighting, command line history, on-line help, spell checking, filename completion, block operations, script language, etc. There is also a Graphical User Interface (GUI) available. Still, Vi compatibility is maintained, those who have Vi "in the fingers" will feel at home. See runtime/doc/vi_diff.txt for differences with Vi. This editor is very useful for editing programs and other plain text files. All commands are given with normal keyboard characters, so those who can type with ten fingers can work very fast. Additionally, function keys can be mapped to commands by the user, and the mouse can be used.

vim-mode - Next generation vim support for atom

  •    CoffeeScript

Provides Vim modal control for Atom, blending the best of Vim and Atom.We're not maintaining this package anymore, because vim-mode-plus has more features and is very well maintained.

cmder - Lovely console emulator package for Windows

  •    C++

Cmder is a software package created out of pure frustration over absence of usable console emulator on Windows. It is based on ConEmu with major config overhaul, comes with a Monokai color scheme, amazing clink (further enhanced by clink-completions) and a custom prompt layout. The main advantage of Cmder is portability. It is designed to be totally self-contained with no external dependencies, which makes it great for USB Sticks or cloud storage. So you can carry your console, aliases and binaries (like wget, curl and git) with you anywhere.

vim-clutch - A hardware pedal for improved text editing in Vim

  •

VIM Clutch is a hardware pedal for improved text editing speed for users of the magnificent VIM text editor (1, 2). When the pedal is pressed down, the pedal types "i" causing VIM to go into Insert Mode. When released, it types <Esc> and you are back in Normal Mode. I just made one and it works great. Here is how I did it.

oiio - OpenImageIO

  •    C++

The primary target audience for OIIO is VFX studios and developers of tools such as renderers, compositors, viewers, and other image-related software you'd find in a production pipeline. Simple but powerful ImageInput and ImageOutput APIs that provide an abstraction for reading and writing image files of nearly any format, without the calling application needing to know any of the details of these file formats, and indeed without the calling application needing to be aware of which formats are available.

simplemde-markdown-editor - A simple, beautiful, and embeddable JavaScript Markdown editor

  •    Javascript

A drop-in JavaScript textarea replacement for writing beautiful and understandable Markdown. The WYSIWYG-esque editor allows users who may be less experienced with Markdown to use familiar toolbar buttons and shortcuts. In addition, the syntax is rendered while editing to clearly show the expected result. Headings are larger, emphasized words are italicized, links are underlined, etc. SimpleMDE is one of the first editors to feature both built-in autosaving and spell checking. WYSIWYG editors that produce HTML are often complex and buggy. Markdown solves this problem in many ways, plus Markdown can be rendered natively on more platforms than HTML. However, Markdown is not a syntax that an average user will be familiar with, nor is it visually clear while editing. In otherwords, for an unfamiliar user, the syntax they write will make little sense until they click the preview button. SimpleMDE has been designed to bridge this gap for non-technical users who are less familiar with or just learning Markdown syntax.

BansheeEngine - Modern C++14 game engine with Vulkan support, fully featured editor and C# scripting

frugally-deep - Header-only library for using Keras models in C++.

  •    C++

Would you like to build/train a model using Keras/Python? And would you like run the prediction (forward pass) on your model in C++ without linking your application against TensorFlow? Then frugally-deep is exactly for you. Layer types typically used in image recognition/generation are supported, making many popular model architectures possible (see Performance section).

EASTL - EASTL stands for Electronic Arts Standard Template Library

  •    C++

EASTL stands for Electronic Arts Standard Template Library. It is a C++ template library of containers, algorithms, and iterators useful for runtime and tool development across multiple platforms. It is a fairly extensive and robust implementation of such a library and has an emphasis on high performance above all other considerations. If you are familiar with the C++ STL or have worked with other templated container/algorithm libraries, you probably don't need to read this. If you have no familiarity with C++ templates at all, then you probably will need more than this document to get you up to speed. In this case, you need to understand that templates, when used properly, are powerful vehicles for the ease of creation of optimized C++ code. A description of C++ templates is outside the scope of this documentation, but there is plenty of such documentation on the Internet.

void - terminal-based personal organizer

  •    Rust

WARNING: this is alpha, and the default keybinds are still weird because I use colemak on top of tmux. You may want to change them, by setting the KEYFILE env var to the path to a key remap file. In the future, I may add optional modal editing to bring it more in-line with vim. Right now I'm not sure it's worth the extra keystrokes. This is an attempt to address several cognitive defects.
