gravity - Gravity Programming Language

  •        90

Gravity is a powerful, dynamically typed, lightweight, embeddable programming language written in C without any external dependencies (except for stdlib). It is a class-based concurrent scripting language with modern Swift-like syntax. Gravity supports procedural programming, object-oriented programming, functional programming and data-driven programming. Thanks to special built-in methods, it can also be used as a prototype-based programming language.

It has C-style syntax, and is largely inspired by Ruby, Python, Perl and c# It support the normal control flow, functional programming and object oriented programming. It also has a REPL with realtime syntax highlighter.

Pharo - Smalltalk inspired language

  •    C

Pharo is an open source Smalltalk. The goal of Pharo is to produce a clean and lean open-source Smalltalk. Pharo wants to bring Squeak to the next level. It is a pure object-oriented language with low memory footprint.

Ruby - Programming Language

  •    C

A dynamic, open source programming language with a focus on simplicity and productivity. It has an elegant syntax that is natural to read and easy to write. The syntax inspired by Perl with Smalltalk-like features. It was also influenced by Eiffel and Lisp. It is a scripting language that is more powerful than Perl, and more object-oriented than Python.

Squeak - powerful Smalltalk programming language

  •    smalltalk

Squeak is a modern, open source, full-featured implementation of the powerful Smalltalk programming language and environment. Squeak is highly-portable - even its virtual machine is written entirely in Smalltalk making it easy to debug, analyze, and change. Squeak is the vehicle for a wide range of projects from multimedia applications, educational platforms to commercial web application development.

luajit-lang-toolkit - A Lua bytecode compiler written in Lua itself for didactic purposes or for new language implementations

  •    Lua

The LuaJIT Language Toolkit is an implementation of the Lua programming language written in Lua itself. It works by generating LuaJIT bytecode, including debug information, and uses LuaJIT's virtual machine to run the generated bytecode. On its own, the language toolkit does not do anything useful, since LuaJIT itself does the same things natively. The purpose of the language toolkit is to provide a starting point to implement a programming language that targets the LuaJIT virtual machine.

Lua - Embeddable Scripting Language.

  •    C

Lua is a powerful, fast, lightweight, embeddable scripting language. Lua combines simple procedural syntax with powerful data description constructs based on associative arrays and extensible semantics. Lua is dynamically typed, runs by interpreting bytecode for a register-based virtual machine, and has automatic memory management with incremental garbage collection, making it ideal for configuration, scripting, and rapid prototyping.

PH7 - An Embedded Implementation of PHP (C Library)

  •    C

PH7 is a in-process software C library which implements a highly-efficient embeddable bytecode compiler and a virtual machine for the PHP programming language. In other words, PH7 is a PHP engine which allow the host application to compile and execute PHP scripts in-process. PH7 is to PHP what SQLite is to SQL. As an embedded interpreter, it allows multiple interpreter states to coexist in the same program, without any interference between them. Programmatically, foreign functions in C/C++ can be added and values can be defined in the PHP environment. Being a quite small program, it is easy to comprehend, get to grips with, and use.

goby - Goby - Yet another programming language written in Go

  •    Go

Goby is an object-oriented interpreter language deeply inspired by Ruby as well as its core implementation by 100% pure Go. Moreover, it has standard libraries to provide several features such as the Plugin system. Note that we do not intend to reproduce whole of the honorable works of Ruby syntax/implementation/libraries. Note: Goby had formerly been known as "Rooby", which was renamed in May 2017.

Jx9 - An Embeddable Scripting Engine

  •    C

Jx9 is an embeddable scripting engine that implements a Turing complete programming language based on JSON. Jx9 is the ideal library to use in applications that require modern and efficient scripting support such as games, database systems, text editors, network applications and so forth. Jx9 also natively supports multi-threading and the concept of separate engine handles and virtual machines.

wren - The Wren Programming Language

  •    C

Think Smalltalk in a Lua-sized package with a dash of Erlang and wrapped up in a familiar, modern syntax. Wren is small. The VM implementation is under 4,000 semicolons. You can skim the whole thing in an afternoon. It's small, but not dense. It is readable and lovingly-commented.

Blaise Script

  •    Pascal

Blaise is an open-source object-oriented scripting language. Language features: Object-oriented. Unicode support. Optional typing, ie dynamic or static typing. Richly typed. Higher-level mathematics support, for example Complex numbers, Rational numbers and Matrices. Virtual Machine architecture. Co-routines. Familiar language syntax, influenced by Object Pascal, Python and Ada.

GCJ

  •    C

GCJ is a portable, optimizing, ahead-of-time compiler for the Java Programming Language. It can compile Java source code to Java bytecode (class files) or directly to native machine code, and Java bytecode to native machine code.

red - Red is a next-generation programming language strongly inspired by Rebol, but with a broader field of usage thanks to its native-code compiler, from system programming to high-level scripting and cross-platform reactive GUI, while providing modern support for concurrency, all in a zero-install, zero-config, single 1MB file!

  •    Red

Red is a new programming language strongly inspired by Rebol, but with a broader field of usage thanks to its native-code compiler, from system programming to high-level scripting, while providing modern support for concurrency and multi-core CPUs. Red has its own complete cross-platform toolchain, featuring two compilers, an interpreter and a linker, not depending on any third-party library, except for a Rebol2 interpreter, required during the bootstrap phase. Once complete, Red will be self-hosted.

ocaml - The core OCaml system: compilers, runtime system, base libraries

  •    OCaml

OCaml is an implementation of the ML language, based on the Caml Light dialect extended with a complete class-based object system and a powerful module system in the style of Standard ML.OCaml comprises two compilers. One generates bytecode which is then interpreted by a C program. This compiler runs quickly, generates compact code with moderate memory requirements, and is portable to essentially any 32 or 64 bit Unix platform. Performance of generated programs is quite good for a bytecoded implementation. This compiler can be used either as a standalone, batch-oriented compiler that produces standalone programs, or as an interactive, toplevel-based system.

Scala Language - Object-Oriented Meets Functional

  •    Java

Scala is a pure-bred object-oriented language. Conceptually, every value is an object and every operation is a method-call. The language supports advanced component architectures through classes and traits. Even though its syntax is fairly conventional, Scala is also a full-blown functional language. It has everything you would expect, including first-class functions, a library with efficient immutable data structures, and a general preference of immutability over mutation.
