This is a repository containing lists of all countries worldwide in several formats. The data is taken from GeoNames and thus under CC BY license. I use it for Programmer Map which lists the best programmers in all countries and many cities worldwide. There are currently three file formats: JSON, CSV, and PHP.

Continents & countries: ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code, name, ISO 639-1 languages, capital and currency, native name, calling codes. Lists are available in JSON, CSV and SQL formats. Also, contains separate JSON files with additional country Emoji flags data. This version changes a lot in the data structures, and placement of the files. So, if your projects depend on the old structure — specify previous versions, <2.0.0.

In addition to countries, it includes dependent territories. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) site provides partial data (capitalised and sometimes stripped of non-latin ornamentation), but sells the complete data set as a Microsoft Access 2003 database. Other sites give you the numeric and character codes, but there appeared to be no sites that included the associated UN-maintained regional codes in their data sets. I scraped data from the above two websites that is all publicly available already to produce some ready-to-use complete data sets that will hopefully save someone some time who had similar needs.

react countriesCountryPicker is a custom UIPickerView subclass that provides an iOS control allowing a user to select a country from a list. It can optionally display a flag next to each country name, and the library includes a set of 249 public domain flag images from https://github.com/koppi/iso-country-flags-svg-collection that have been renamed to work with the library. Note that the list of countries is based on the ISO 3166 country code standard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1). This list excludes certain smaller countries, regarding them as part of a larger state. For example, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are lumped together as Great Britain. For most purposes this is fine as it matches the convention used for locales, but if you need to specify additional countries, you can subclass and modify the countires list as described under "Subclassing" below.
A sample Android app written in Kotlin, which lists all countries with some additional information (currencies, languages, …). The app uses the MVVM pattern with the Android data binding lib. Countries can be bookmarked and are then stored locally with Realm. Retrofit is used to fetch the country information from the free REST Countries service. For JSON parsing, custom Gson TypeAdapters are used. PaperParcel is used to make the Country objects Parcelable. Also, Dagger 2 is used for dependency injection. This project can also be used as a template for new apps. Check out the template branch for a cleaned up version of this project.

Yasumi (Japanese for 'Holiday'γδΌγΏγ) is an easy PHP library to help you calculate the dates and names of holidays and other special celebrations from various countries/states. Many services exist on the internet that provide holidays, however are either not free or offer only limited information. In addition, no complete PHP library seems to exist today that covers a wide range of holidays and countries, except maybe PEAR's Date_Holidays which unfortunately hasn't been updated for a long time. The goal of Yasumi is to be powerful while remaining lightweight, by utilizing PHP native classes wherever possible. Yasumi's calculation is provider-based (i.e. by country/state) so it's easy to add new holiday providers that calculate holidays. The methods of Yasumi can be used to get a holiday's date and name in various languages.

It contains info for the following standards ISO3166-1 (countries), ISO3166-2 (states/subdivisions), ISO4217 (currency) and E.164 (phone numbers). I will add any country based data I can get access to. I hope this to be a repository for all country based information. Simply load a new country object using Country.new(alpha2) or the shortcut Country[alpha2]. An example works best.

rest-countries rest countries rest-apiThis package is not tied to Laravel and doesn't require it to be installed (we have a bridge for this purpose), but it has Laravel Collections in its core, all methods in Collections are available, this way you can do things like filter, map, reduce, search, sort, reject, and a lot more. It, actually, uses Coollection, which is Laravel Collections with a fluent syntax, allowing us to have access to array keys (and values) as object properties.
laravel laravel-countries countries languages timezones statesA JavaScript library for internationalization and localization that leverage the official Unicode CLDR JSON data. The library works both for the browser and as a Node.js module. Each language, and the countries that speak that language, have different expectations when it comes to how numbers (including currency and percentages) and dates should appear. Obviously, each language has different names for the days of the week and the months of the year. But they also have different expectations for the structure of dates, such as what order the day, month and year are in. In number formatting, not only does the character used to delineate number groupings and the decimal portion differ, but the placement of those characters differ as well.

flags countries country svgThis a "soft-firewall" package. Its purpose is to help people prevent unauthorized access to routes by IP address. It is able to keep track of IPs, countries and hosts (dynamic ip), and redirect non-authorized users to, for instance, a "Coming Soon" page, while letting whitelisted IPs to have access to the entire site. It is now also able to detect and block attacks (too many requests) from single IPs or whole countries. This package can prevent some headaches and help you block some access to your apps, but cannot replace firewalls and appliances, for attacks at the network level, you'll still need a real firewall.
