This is the 1.3.4-SNAPSHOT "You'll Thank Me Later" release of the Ceylon command line tools. This is a production version of the platform.Ceylon is a modern, modular, statically typed programming language for the Java and JavaScript virtual machines. The language features a flexible and very readable syntax, a unique and uncommonly elegant static type system, a powerful module architecture, and excellent tooling, including an awesome Eclipse-based IDE.

vertx-blueprint-microservice - Vert.x Blueprint Project - Micro-Shop microservice application

  •    Java

Vert.x blueprint application - A micro-shop microservice application developed with Vert.x. This repo is intended to be an illustration on how to design microservice architecture and develop microservice applications using Vert.x. This blueprint works with Vert.x 3.4.1.

vertx-examples - Vert.x examples

  •    Java

This repository contains a range of examples so you can get up and running easily with Vert.x. Start with the simplest Maven example to show you how setup a simple Vert.x project that uses Maven. You need to have Java 8 installed and set the JAVA_HOME environment variable to point to your Java 8 installation.

  •    Java

The Firebase JobDispatcher is a library for scheduling background jobs in your Android app. It provides a JobScheduler-compatible API that works on all recent versions of Android (API level 9+) that have Google Play services installed. The JobScheduler is an Android system service available on API levels 21 (Lollipop)+. It provides an API for scheduling units of work (represented by JobService subclasses) that will be executed in your app's process.

Fenzo - Extensible Scheduler for Mesos Frameworks

  •    Java

Fenzo is a scheduler Java library for Apache Mesos frameworks that supports plugins for scheduling optimizations and facilitates cluster autoscaling.Apache Mesos frameworks match and assign resources to pending tasks. Fenzo presents a plugin-based, Java library that facilitates scheduling resources to tasks by using a variety of possible scheduling objectives, such as bin packing, balancing across resource abstractions (such as AWS availability zones or data center racks), resource affinity, and task locality.

posterus - Composable async primitives (futures) with cancelation, control over scheduling, and coroutines

  •    Javascript

Posterus is a library of promise-like asynchronous primitives (futures) that support cancelation. Futures compose just like promises, but can also be cleanly shut down, aborting pending operations and freeing resources. Posterus also exposes its inner scheduling capabilities, allowing you to "opt out" of asynchrony when needed (motivating example).

This document outlines the motivation for working on main thread scheduling APIs, discusses some of the problems that apps and userspace schedulers face when writing scheduling code, and links to various proposals we are working on in this space. Note: individual proposals will be linked in the sections below and have separate explainers.
