lossless-cut - Cross platform GUI tool for lossless trimming / cutting of video and audio files using ffmpeg

  •    Javascript

Simple, cross platform tool for lossless trimming/cutting of video and audio files. Great for rough processing of large video files taken from a video camera, GoPro, drone, etc. It lets you quickly extract the good parts from your videos and discard GBs of data without losing quality. It doesn't do any decoding / encoding and is therefore extremely fast. This app uses the awesome ffmpeg (included) for doing the grunt work. Since LosslessCut is based on Chromium and uses the HTML5 video player, not all ffmpeg supported formats will be supported. The following formats/codecs should generally work: MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, OGG, WAV, MP3, AAC, H264, Theora, VP8, VP9 For more information about supported formats / codecs, see https://www.chromium.org/audio-video. Note that the MPEG TS format is not supported. See known issues.

csvtk - A cross-platform, efficient and practical CSV/TSV toolkit in Golang

  •    Go

Similar to FASTA/Q format in field of Bioinformatics, CSV/TSV formats are basic and ubiquitous file formats in both Bioinformatics and data sicence. People usually use spreadsheet softwares like MS Excel to do process table data. However it's all by clicking and typing, which is not automatically and time-consuming to repeat, especially when we want to apply similar operations with different datasets or purposes.

It takes a video or an audio file as input, performs voice activity detection to find speech regions, makes parallel requests to Google Web Speech API to generate transcriptions for those regions, (optionally) translates them to a different language, and finally saves the resulting subtitles to disk. It supports a variety of input and output languages (to see which, run the utility with the argument --list-languages) and can currently produce subtitles in either the SRT format or simple JSON.

seqkit - A cross-platform and ultrafast toolkit for FASTA/Q file manipulation in Golang

  •    Go

FASTA and FASTQ are basic and ubiquitous formats for storing nucleotide and protein sequences. Common manipulations of FASTA/Q file include converting, searching, filtering, deduplication, splitting, shuffling, and sampling. Existing tools only implement some of these manipulations, and not particularly efficiently, and some are only available for certain operating systems. Furthermore, the complicated installation process of required packages and running environments can render these programs less user friendly. This project describes a cross-platform ultrafast comprehensive toolkit for FASTA/Q processing. SeqKit provides executable binary files for all major operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X, and can be directly used without any dependencies or pre-configurations. SeqKit demonstrates competitive performance in execution time and memory usage compared to similar tools. The efficiency and usability of SeqKit enable researchers to rapidly accomplish common FASTA/Q file manipulations.

Fiber2D - Cross-platform 2D Game Engine in pure Swift

  •    Swift

This project originated as cocos2d-objc rewrite to Swift. As I stopped commiting to the repo since June, because Obj-C is dead for me. This is still in a very alpha state, but you already can build some games with it, even though it may be unpleasant process as I change API almost every day. The project served as .dylib (.so on Linux/Android) that builds by Swift Package Manager. It requires some project config in order to use it, but you can experiment with the demo provided in the repo. Generally the project should be considered unstable and most of the API is likely to be changed.
