This demonstration is now deprecated and cannot be deployed automatically. The demonstration was created for the Blockchain Starter Plan service which uses Hyperledger Fabric version 0.6.1. The Starter Plan service is in the process of being retired. An announcement is available about the Starter Plan retirement. The demonstration allows a view of the ledger that stores all the interactions that the above participants have has with their assets. The ledger view shows the regulator every transaction that has occurred showing who tried to to what at what time and to which vehicle. The ledger view also allows the user to see transactions that they were involved with as well as showing the interactions with the assets they own before they owned them e.g. they can see when it was created.

Please visit the installation instructions to ensure you have the correct prerequisites installed. Please use the version of the documentation that matches the version of the software you intend to use to ensure alignment. The scripts/bootstrap.sh script will preload all of the requisite docker images for Hyperledger Fabric and tag them with the 'latest' tag. Optionally, specify a version for fabric, fabric-ca and thirdparty images. Default versions are 1.2.0, 1.2.0 and 0.4.10 respectively.

One fundamental concern in blockchain technology is the confidentiality of the data. In order to reach consensus between all independent nodes, each node must be able to validate all transactions (for instance against double-spend), in most cases this means that the content of the transactions is visible to all nodes. Fortunately, several solutions exist that preserve confidentiality on a blockchain (private transactions, HyperLedger Fabric Channels, Payment Channels, Homomorphic encryption, transaction-mixing, zero knowledge proofs etc.). The Zero Knowledge Range Proof requires a commitment on a number by a trusted party (for instance a government committing on someone's age), an Ethereum user can use this commitment to generate a range proof. The Ethereum network will verify this proof.
