gef - GEF - GDB Enhanced Features for exploit devs & reversers

  •        79

GEF is a kick-ass set of commands for X86, ARM, MIPS, PowerPC and SPARC to make GDB cool again for exploit dev. It is aimed to be used mostly by exploiters and reverse-engineers, to provide additional features to GDB using the Python API to assist during the process of dynamic analysis and exploit development. It has full support for both Python2 and Python3 indifferently (as more and more distros start pushing gdb compiled with Python3 support).

This GitHub repository has been created to provide supplemental material to several books, video courses, and live training created by Omar Santos and other co-authors. It provides over 6,000 references, scripts, tools, code, and other resources that help offensive and defensive security professionals learn and develop new skills. This GitHub repository provides guidance on how build your own hacking environment, learn about offensive security (ethical hacking) techniques, vulnerability research, exploit development, reverse engineering, malware analysis, threat intelligence, threat hunting, digital forensics and incident response (DFIR), includes examples of real-life penetration testing reports, and more. These courses serve as comprehensive guide for any network and security professional who is starting a career in ethical hacking and penetration testing. It also can help individuals preparing for the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA PenTest+ and any other ethical hacking certification. This course helps any cyber security professional that want to learn the skills required to becoming a professional ethical hacker or that want to learn more about general hacking methodologies and concepts.

MBE - Course materials for Modern Binary Exploitation by RPISEC

  •    C

This repository contains the materials as developed and used by RPISEC to teach Modern Binary Exploitation at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Spring 2015. This was a university course developed and run solely by students to teach skills in vulnerability research, reverse engineering, and binary exploitation. Vulnerability research & exploit development is something totally outside the bounds of what you see in a normal computer science curriculum, but central to a lot of what we RPISEC members find ourselves doing in our free time. We also find that subjects in offensive security tend to have a stigma around them in university that we would like to help shake off. These are practical, applied skills that we're excited to share with those interested in learning.

Exploit-Writeups - A collection where my current and future writeups for exploits/CTF will go

  •

Welcome to my collection of exploit writeups. This repo is where my current and future writeups for public exploits, vulnerability research, and CTF challenge solves will go. Below is a directory of the current writeups that I've published. An overview of the PS4 kernel exploit codenamed "namedobj", which targets a type confusion vulnerability in the sys_namedobj_* Sony system calls. This overview covers the basic exploit strategy required to leverage the type confusion bug into a fully fledged exploit.

viper - Binary analysis and management framework

  •    Python

Viper is a binary analysis and management framework. Its fundamental objective is to provide a solution to easily organize your collection of malware and exploit samples as well as your collection of scripts you created or found over the time to facilitate your daily research. Wanna contribute? Viper is an open, BSD-licensed, collaborative development effort that heavily relies on contributions from the whole community. We welcome tickets, pull requests, feature suggestions.

Malware - Course materials for Malware Analysis by RPISEC

  •

This repository contains the materials as developed and used by RPISEC to teach Malware Analysis at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Fall 2015. This was a university course developed and run soley by students, primarily using the Practical Malware Analysis book by Michael Sikorski and Andrew Honig, to teach skills in reverse engineering, malicious behaviour, malware, and anti-analysis techniques. The Practical Malware Analysis (PMA) book is where many RPISEC members and alumn started. The book reads very well, is full of information, and the lab walkthroughs in the back are invaluable. We didn't want to re-invent the wheel so we structured most of the class around the book. Students were expected to have read the relevant PMA book chapters before class, allowing us to spend much more class time demonstrating skills and techniques and walking through hands-on examples with the students.

wdbgark - WinDBG Anti-RootKit Extension

  •    C++

WDBGARK is an extension (dynamic library) for the Microsoft Debugging Tools for Windows. It main purpose is to view and analyze anomalies in Windows kernel using kernel debugger. It is possible to view various system callbacks, system tables, object types and so on. For more user-friendly view extension uses DML. For the most of commands kernel-mode connection is required. Feel free to use extension with live kernel-mode debugging or with kernel-mode crash dump analysis (some commands will not work). Public symbols are required, so use them, force to reload them, ignore checksum problems, prepare them before analysis and you'll be happy. Windows BETA/RC is supported by design, but read a few notes. First, i don't care about checked builds. Second, i don't care if you don't have symbols (public or private). IA64/ARM is unsupported (and will not).

dex-oracle - A pattern based Dalvik deobfuscator which uses limited execution to improve semantic analysis

  •    Ruby

A pattern based Dalvik deobfuscator which uses limited execution to improve semantic analysis. Also, the inspiration for another Android deobfuscator: Simplify. Make sure adb is on your path.

simplify - Generic Android Deobfuscator

  •    Java

Simplify virtually executes an app to understand its behavior and then tries to optimize the code so that it behaves identically but is easier for a human to understand. Each optimization type is simple and generic, so it doesn't matter what the specific type of obfuscation is used. The code on the left is a decompilation of an obfuscated app, and the code on the right has been deobfuscated.

rr - Record and Replay Framework. An alternative to GDB

  •    C++

rr is a lightweight tool for recording, replaying and debugging execution of applications (trees of processes and threads). Debugging extends gdb with very efficient reverse-execution, which in combination with standard gdb/x86 features like hardware data watchpoints, makes debugging much more fun. You can record a failure once, then debug the recording, deterministically, as many times as you want. The same execution is replayed every time.

ScratchABit - Easily retargetable and hackable interactive disassembler with IDAPython-compatible plugin API

  •    Python

ScratchABit is an interactive incremental disassembler with data/control flow analysis capabilities. ScratchABit is dedicated to the efforts of the OpenSource reverse engineering community (reverse engineering to produce OpenSource drivers/firmware for hardware not properly supported by vendors, for hardware and software interoperability, for security research). ScratchABit supports well-known in the community IDAPython API to write disassembly/extension modules.
