epilogue - Create flexible REST endpoints and controllers from Sequelize models in your Express app

  •        81

Create flexible REST endpoints and controllers from Sequelize models in your Express or Restify app. Of course it's likely that we'll want more flexibility. Our users resource has properties for each of the controller actions. Controller actions in turn have hooks for setting and overriding behavior at each step of the request. We have these milestones to work with: start, auth, fetch, data, write, send, and complete.

sequelize-restful - A connect module that adds a restful API for all defined models to your application

  •    Javascript

A connect module based on a fork of sequelize-restful that adds a one level of associative capability to a restful API. It also lets you define which model should be exposed through this restful API.This project is not actively developed/maintained. As a result of that, you won't be able to create issues any longer. I will happily merge pull requests, though. Please consider using finale or epilogue.

sequelize-auto - Automatically generate bare sequelize models from your database.

  •    Javascript

Automatically generate models for SequelizeJS via the command line. You will need to install the correct dialect binding globally before using sequelize-auto.

Rest.li - REST+JSON framework

  •    Java

Rest.li is a REST+JSON framework for building robust, scalable service architectures using dynamic discovery and simple asynchronous APIs. Rest.li fills a niche for building RESTful service architectures at scale, offering a developer workflow for defining data and REST APIs that promotes uniform interfaces, consistent data modeling, type-safety, and compatibility checked API evolution.

go-json-rest - A quick and easy way to setup a RESTful JSON API

  •    Go

Go-Json-Rest is a thin layer on top of net/http that helps building RESTful JSON APIs easily. It provides fast and scalable request routing using a Trie based implementation, helpers to deal with JSON requests and responses, and middlewares for functionalities like CORS, Auth, Gzip, Status ...The recommended way of using this library in your project is to use the "vendoring" method, where this library code is copied in your repository at a specific revision. This page is a good summary of package management in Go.

grpc-gateway - gRPC to JSON proxy generator following the gRPC HTTP spec

  •    Go

grpc-gateway is a plugin of protoc. It reads gRPC service definition, and generates a reverse-proxy server which translates a RESTful JSON API into gRPC. This server is generated according to the google.api.http annotation in your gRPC service definition. It helps you to provide your APIs in both gRPC and RESTful style at the same time.

RESTEasy - Rest Framework for Java

  •    Java

RESTEasy is a JBoss project that provides various frameworks to help you build RESTful Web Services and RESTful Java applications. It is a portable implementation of the JAX-RS specification. JAX-RS is a JCP specification that provides a Java API for RESTful Web Services over the HTTP protocol. It is portable to Tomcat and many other app-server. It has rich set of providers for: XML, JSON, YAML, Fastinfoset, Multipart, XOP, Atom, etc.

xmysql - :rocket: One command to generate REST APIs for any MySql Database.

  •    Javascript

Generating REST APIs for a MySql database which does not follow conventions of frameworks such as rails, django, laravel etc is a small adventure that one like to avoid .. Hence this.

sandman2 - Automatically generate a RESTful API service for your legacy database. No code required!

  •    Python

sandman2 automagically generates a RESTful API service from your existing database, without requiring you to write a line of code. Simply point sandman2 to your database, add salt for seasoning, and voila!, a fully RESTful API service with hypermedia support starts running, ready to accept HTTP requests. This is a big deal. It means every single database you interact with, from the SQLite database that houses your web browser's data up to your production PostgreSQL server can be endowed with a REST API and accessed programatically, using any number of HTTP client libraries available in every language. sandman2 frees your data.

just-api - Easy and Flexible API Testing

  •    Javascript

Just-API is a declarative, specification based test framework for REST, GraphQL APIs. Users can test APIs without writing code, but they can also tap into code when they want to. It reads API test specification from YAML files and runs them in serial/parallel mode. Test reports can be generated in several formats including HTML and JSON. To run just-api, you will need Node.js v7.10.0 or newer.

flask-restplus - Fully featured framework for fast, easy and documented API development with Flask

  •    Python

Flask-RESTPlus is an extension for Flask that adds support for quickly building REST APIs. Flask-RESTPlus encourages best practices with minimal setup. If you are familiar with Flask, Flask-RESTPlus should be easy to pick up. It provides a coherent collection of decorators and tools to describe your API and expose its documentation properly using Swagger. Flask-RestPlus requires Python 2.7 or 3.4+.

sqler - write APIs using direct SQL queries with no hassle, let's rethink about SQL

  •    Go

SQL-er is a tiny portable server enables you to write APIs using SQL query to be executed when anyone hits it, also it enables you to define validation rules so you can validate the request body/query params, as well as data transformation using simple javascript syntax. sqler uses nginx style configuration language (HCL) amd javascript engine for custom expressions. RESTful server could be used to interact directly with i.e mobile, browser, ... etc, in this mode SQLer is protected by authorizers, which gives you the ability to check authorization against another 3rd-party api. Each macro you add to the configuration file(s) you can access to it by issuing a http request to /<macro-name>, every query param and json body will be passed to the macro .Input.

imbo - Imbo is an image "server" that can be used to add/get/delete images using a RESTful interface

  •    PHP

Imbo is an image "server" that can be used to add/get/delete images using a REST interface. There is also support for adding meta data to an image. The main idea behind Imbo is to have a place to store high quality original images and to use the REST interface to fetch variations of those images. Imbo will resize, rotate, crop (amongst other features) on the fly so you won't have to store all the different variations. End-user docs can be found here.

RESTier - A turn-key library for building RESTful services

  •    CSharp

RESTier is a RESTful API development framework for building standardized, OData V4 based RESTful services on .NET platform. It can be seen as a middle-ware on top of Web API OData. RESTier provides facilities to bootstrap an OData service like what WCF Data Services (which is sunset) does, beside this, it supports to add business logic in several simple steps, has flexibility and easy customization like what Web API OData do.

Restful API Guidelines - A model set of guidelines for RESTful APIs, created by Zalando

  •    Javascript

Great RESTful APIs look like they were designed by a single team. This promotes API adoption, reduces friction, and enables clients to use them properly. To build APIs that meet this standard, and to answer many common questions encountered along the way of RESTful API development, the Zalando Tech team has created this comprehensive set of guidelines. We have shared it with you to inspire additional discussion and refinement within and among your teams, and contribute our learnings and suggestions to the tech community at large.

channels-api - RESTful Websocket APIs with Django Rest Framework and Channels

  •    Python

Channels API exposes a RESTful Streaming API over WebSockets using channels. It provides a ResourceBinding which is comparable to Django Rest Framework's ModelViewSet. It is based on DRF serializer classes. You're already using Django Rest Framework and want to expose similar logic over WebSockets.
