The lastest release has been tested Pure Data Vanilla (0.46.6 - 32/64 bits) & Pure Data Extended (0.43.4) on Linux, Mac Os, Windows . With Pure Data Vanilla, copy the Hoa folder in your package folder and add hoa in the PD's statup window if you use the default package folder*, otherwise add Hoa/hoa.

Essentia is an open-source C++ library for audio analysis and audio-based music information retrieval released under the Affero GPL license. It contains an extensive collection of reusable algorithms which implement audio input/output functionality, standard digital signal processing blocks, statistical characterization of data, and a large set of spectral, temporal, tonal and high-level music descriptors. The library is also wrapped in Python and includes a number of predefined executable extractors for the available music descriptors, which facilitates its use for fast prototyping and allows setting up research experiments very rapidly. Furthermore, it includes a Vamp plugin to be used with Sonic Visualiser for visualization purposes. Essentia is designed with a focus on the robustness of the provided music descriptors and is optimized in terms of the computational cost of the algorithms. The provided functionality, specifically the music descriptors included in-the-box and signal processing algorithms, is easily expandable and allows for both research experiments and development of large-scale industrial applications. If you use example extractors (located in src/examples), or your own code employing Essentia algorithms to compute descriptors, you should be aware of possible incompatibilities when using different versions of Essentia.

Gramm is a powerful plotting toolbox which allows to quickly create complex, publication-quality figures in Matlab, and is inspired by R's ggplot2 library by Hadley Wickham. As a reference to this inspiration, gramm stands for GRAMmar of graphics for Matlab. Gramm is a data visualization toolbox for Matlab that allows to produce publication-quality plots from grouped data easily and flexibly. Matlab can be used for complex data analysis using a high-level interface: it supports mixed-type tabular data via tables, provides statistical functions that accept these tables as arguments, and allows users to adopt a split-apply-combine approach (Wickham 2011) with rowfun(). However, the standard plotting functionality in Matlab is mostly low-level, allowing to create axes in figure windows and draw geometric primitives (lines, points, patches) or simple statistical visualizations (histograms, boxplots) from numerical array data. Producing complex plots from grouped data thus requires iterating over the various groups in order to make successive statistical computations and low-level draw calls, all the while handling axis and color generation in order to visually separate data by groups. The corresponding code is often long, not easily reusable, and makes exploring alternative plot designs tedious.

We present FASTER, a new concurrent key-value store designed for point lookups and heavy updates. FASTER supports data larger than memory, by leveraging fast external storage. What differentiates FASTER are its cache-optimized index that achieves very high performance — up to 160 million operations per second when data fits in memory; its unique “hybrid record log” design that combines a traditional persistent log with in-place updates, to shape the memory working set and retain performance; and its architecture as an component that can be embedded in cloud apps. FASTER achieves higher throughput than current systems, by more than two orders of magnitude, and scales better than current pure in-memory data structures, for in-memory working sets. Weld is a language and runtime for improving the performance of data-intensive applications. It optimizes across libraries and functions by expressing the core computations in libraries using a common intermediate representation, and optimizing across each framework. Modern analytics applications combine multiple functions from different libraries and frameworks to build complex workflows. Even though individual functions can achieve high performance in isolation, the performance of the combined workflow is often an order of magnitude below hardware limits due to extensive data movement across the functions. Weld’s take on solving this problem is to lazily build up a computation for the entire workflow, and then optimizing and evaluating it only when a result is needed.
