This library implements MessagePack spec v4 with some extensions compatible with msgpack-js. It does not implement spec v5. If you need support for spec v5 (including STR8, BIN types, etc), see alternatives. This is yet another implementation of MessagePack for LuaJIT. However, unlike luajit-msgpack, luajit-msgpack-pure does not depend on the MessagePack C library. Everything is re-implemented in LuaJIT code (using the FFI but only to manipulate data structures).

This is a wrapper for the C MessagePack parser, building the bridge to Objective-C. In a similar way to the JSON framework, this parses MessagePack into NSDictionaries, NSArrays, NSNumbers, NSStrings, and NSNulls. node-msgpack is an addon for NodeJS that provides an API for serializing and de-serializing JavaScript objects using the MessagePack library. The performance of this addon compared to the native JSON object isn't too bad, and the space required for serialized data is far less than JSON. node-msgpack is currently slower than the built-in JSON.stringify() and JSON.parse() methods. In recent versions of node.js, the JSON functions have been heavily optimized. node-msgpack is still more compact, and we are currently working performance improvements. Testing shows that, over 500k iterations, msgpack.pack() is about 5x slower than JSON.stringify(), and msgpack.unpack() is about 3.5x slower than JSON.parse().

sysbench - Scriptable database and system performance benchmark

sysbench is a scriptable multi-threaded benchmark tool based on LuaJIT. It is most frequently used for database benchmarks, but can also be used to create arbitrarily complex workloads that do not involve a database server. The easiest way to download and install sysbench on Linux is using binary package repositories hosted by packagecloud. The repositories are automatically updated on each sysbench release. Currently x86_64, i386 and aarch64 binaries are available.

This is a POSIX binding for LuaJIT, Lua 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3; like most libraries it simply binds to C APIs on the underlying system, so it won't work on non-POSIX systems. However, it does try to detect the level of POSIX conformance of the underlying system and bind only available APIs. For a while, luaposix contained support for curses functionality too, but now it has its own lcurses repository again, where it is being maintained separately.
