restic is a backup program that is fast, efficient and secure. Restic should be easy to configure and use, so that in the unlikely event of a data loss you can just restore it. It uses cryptography to guarantee confidentiality and integrity of your data.

criu - Checkpoint/Restore tool

CRIU (stands for Checkpoint and Restore in Userspace) is a utility to checkpoint/restore Linux tasks. Using this tool, you can freeze a running application (or part of it) and checkpoint it to a hard drive as a collection of files. You can then use the files to restore and run the application from the point it was frozen at. The distinctive feature of the CRIU project is that it is mainly implemented in user space. There are some more projects doing C/R for Linux, and so far CRIU appears to be the most feature-rich and up-to-date with the kernel.

Velero - Backup and migrate Kubernetes applications and their persistent volumes

Velero (formerly Heptio Ark) gives you tools to back up and restore your Kubernetes cluster resources and persistent volumes. You can run Velero with a public cloud platform or on-premises. It helps to take backups of your cluster and restore in case of loss, Migrate cluster resources to other clusters, Replicate your production cluster to development and testing clusters.

NOTE: -v1 suffix here and in all other places is optional (there are also images without -v1 suffix and they are exactly the same), however, it is possible that in future images without suffixes become completely incompatible and -v2 suffixed images will be introduced, so you'd better be protected from upgrading to incompatible image rather than getting broken setup at some point in future (this might not happen ever, but still). This container will start and stop immediately, that is OK.

The custom remote protocol allows for more flexibility and limits the types of connections that are required to perform a backup which increases security.

oandbackup - backup manager for android

a backup program for android. requires root and allows you to backup individual apps and their data. both backup and restore of individual programs one at a time and batch backup and restore of multiple programs are supported (with silent / unattended restores). restoring system apps should be possible without requiring a reboot afterwards. oandbackup is also able to uninstall system apps. handling system apps in this way depends on whether /system/ can be remounted as writeable though, so this will probably not work for all devices (e.g. htc devices with the security flag on). backups can be scheduled with no limit on the number of individual schedules and there is the possibility of creating custom lists from the list of installed apps.copy the busybox binary to your system, for example /system/xbin or /data/local, and make it executable. symlinking is not necessary for use with oandbackup. in the oandbackup preferences, provide the whole path to the busybox binary, including the binary's file name (e.g. /data/local/busybox).

We created the project before realizing it though, hence the name :).The intention of kibana4-backup is to make sure any changes you make to your Kibana instance will be backed up in source control, with the ability to easily restore them. Furthermore, it provides a way to deploy changes from source control, to specific environments. Deploying a dashboard from test to prod is as easy as copying a file into a different folder and commiting the change.

reshifter - Kubernetes cluster state management

ReShifter is a Kubernetes cluster state management library and tool. You can use it on the command line for one-off tasks, as a Web app with an UI, or in a cron job. It uses the etcd API to query and manipulate the state of Kubernetes-related objects, supporting legacy (v2, /registry), modern (v2/v3, /kubernetes.io) as well as distro-specific keys such as the ones used in the enterprise Kubernetes distro OpenShift.
