If you need support or have ideas for improving Litestream, please join the Litestream Slack or visit the GitHub Discussions. Please visit the Litestream web site for installation instructions and documentation.

MongoShake - MongoShake is a universal data replication platform based on MongoDB's oplog

  •    Go

This is a brief introduction of Mongo-Shake, please visit english wiki or chinese wiki if you want to see more details including architecture, data flow, performance test, business showcase and so on. Mongo-Shake is developed and maintained by Nosql Team in Alibaba-Cloud. Mongo-Shake is a universal platform for services based on MongoDB's oplog. It fetches oplog from source mongo database, and replays in the target mongo database or sends to other ends in different tunnels. If the target side is mongo database which means replay oplog directly, it's like a syncing tool that used to copy data from source MongoDB to another MongoDB to build redundant replication or active-active replication. Except for this direct way, there are others tunnel types such like rpc, file, tcp, kafka. Receivers wrote by users must define their own interfaces to connecting to these tunnels respectively. Users can also define there own tunnel type which is pluggable. If connecting to a third-party message middleware like kafka, the consumer can get the subscriber data in an asynchronous way in pub/sub module flexibly. Here comes general data flow, The source can be either single mongod, replica set or sharding while target can be mongod or mongos. If the source is replica set, we suggest fetching data from secondary/hidden to ease the primary pressure. If the source is sharding, every shard should connect to Mongo-Shake. There can be several mongos on the target side to keep high availability, and different data will be hashed and written to different mongos.

SymmetricDS - Multi Database Replication

  •    Java

SymmetricDS is a database and file synchronization solution that is platform-independent, web-enabled, and database agnostic. SymmetricDS was built to make data replication across two to tens of thousands of databases and file systems fast, easy and resilient. It supports near real time, bi-directional data replication across large node networks over the WAN or LAN.

Tungsten Replicator - Data Replication Engine for MySQL

  •    Java

Tungsten Replicator is a high performance, data replication engine for MySQL. It offers a set of features like Global transaction IDs to support failover, Flexible transaction filtering, Extensible transaction metadata, Sharding, Multiple replication services per process and lot more.

Perst - object-oriented embedded database

  •    Java

Perst is McObject's open source, dual license, object-oriented embedded database system (ODBMS). Perst gives developers the ability to sort, store and retrieve objects in their applications with maximum speed and with low memory and storage overhead, while leveraging the object-oriented paradigm of Java and C#. It is available in one edition developed as an all-Java embedded database, and another implemented in C# (for Microsoft .NET Framework applications).

BookKeeper - Replicated Log Service

  •    Java

BookKeeper is a replicated log service which can be used to build replicated state machines. A log contains a sequence of events which can be applied to a state machine. BookKeeper guarantees that each replica state machine will see all the same entries, in the same order. It provides back end support to distributed systems, such as messaging systems, coordination systems, filesystems, etc.

Tendermint - Tendermint Core (BFT Consensus) in Go

  •    Go

Tendermint Core is Byzantine Fault Tolerant (BFT) middleware that takes a state transition machine - written in any programming language - and securely replicates it on many machines.

Slony-I - Replication System for PostgreSQL

  •    C

Slony-I is a "master to multiple slaves" replication system with cascading and failover. Slony-I is a system designed for use at data centers and backup sites, where the normal mode of operation is that all nodes are available.

gitlab-mirrors - A set of scripts adding the ability of managing remote mirrors to GitLab.

  •    Shell

The gitlab-mirrors project is designed to fill in a feature which is currently missing from GitLab: the ability to mirror remote repositories. gitlab-mirrors creates read only copies of remote repositories in gitlab. It provides a CLI management interface for managing the mirrored repositories (e.g. add, delete, update) so that an admin may regularly update all mirrors using crontab. It operates by interacting with the GitLab API using python-gitlab. Note: if you are upgrading then see docs/upgrade for notes on upgrading.

ReScience - The ReScience journal. Reproducible Science is Good. Replicated Science is better.

  •

ReScience is a peer-reviewed journal that targets computational research and encourages the explicit replication of already published research promoting new and open-source implementations in order to ensure the original research is reproducible. To achieve such a goal, the whole editing chain is radically different from any other traditional scientific journal. ReScience lives on github where each new implementation is made available together with the comments, explanations and tests. Each submission takes the form of a pull request that is publicly reviewed and tested in order to guarantee any researcher can re-use it. If you ever replicated computational result from the literature, ReScience is the perfect place to publish this new implementation. Reproducible Science is Good. Replicated Science is better.

sanoid - Policy-driven snapshot management and replication tools

  •    Perl

Sanoid is a policy-driven snapshot management tool for ZFS filesystems. When combined with the Linux KVM hypervisor, you can use it to make your systems functionally immortal. Which would be enough to tell sanoid to take and keep 36 hourly snapshots, 30 dailies, 3 monthlies, and no yearlies for all datasets under data/images (but not data/images itself, since process_children_only is set). Except in the case of data/images/win7-spice, which follows the same template (since it's a child of data/images) but only keeps 4 hourlies for whatever reason.

Galera - Cluster for MySQL and MariaDB

  •    C

Galera cluster provides distributed, multi master support for MySQL and MariaDB. Its feature include Synchronous Replication, True Multi-master, Active-Active Cluster Read and write to any node at any time, Automatic Node Provisioning, Multi-threaded Slave and lot more.

DBBalancer - Middleware btw Database client and server

  •    C++

DBBalancer is some sort of middleware that would sit in between of database clients and a server. Currently the only server supported is Postgres, but the architecture is open to embrace more servers in a future. It's a connection pool, a load balancer and a database replicator.

Copycat - A novel implementation of the Raft consensus algorithm

  •    Java

Copycat is a fault-tolerant state machine replication framework. Built on the Raft consensus algorithm, it handles replication and persistence and enforces strict ordering of inputs and outputs, allowing developers to focus on single-threaded application logic. Its event-driven model allows for efficient client communication with replicated state machines, from simple key-value stores to wait-free locks and leader elections. You supply the state machine and Copycat takes care of the rest, making it easy to build robust, safe distributed systems.
