copernicus - A windows tray application for the Pi-Hole advertising-aware DNS/web server

  •    C++

Copernicus aims to be a light weight windows desktop client for the Pi-Hole advertising-aware DNS/web server. As a simple tray application, it should be able to view the current stats, and also allow for a simple click to open the Pi-Hole admin panel. This project was created to learn how to create a simple application using the windows apis. Right now the only dependency is ensuring that the MinGW with compiler is installed. You must be on a windows system to build, and this is a windows only program. Open an issue if you have trouble building the project.

CK-s-Raspberry-Pi-3-config - Raspberry Pi 3 + Pi-Hole + OpenVPN & DNSCrypt

  •

My own guide to use PI 3 with some good programs. Currently I'm using this Pi 3 B+ starter kit.

CKs-FilterList - Yet another bullshit filter list. 🙄

  •    Python

I created this project 2018 because I don't like the current well-known filter lists and I think they're often outdated and incomplete or simply inefficient. My list is not restricted by any region. However, my personal focus is english, russian and swiss and germany regions since I speak these languages. The overall project goal is to block ads and reduce the traffic coming from the domains/websites you visit. The term 'ads' is not defined in this project because I also block cosmetically banners and popup stuff which I think only causes useless traffic without any real benefit.

PiHoleBlocklist - PiHole Blocklist and Adlists

docs

  •

If you want to work on this repo, you can preview the site as you work. MkDocs will build the docs and use the ghp-import tool to commit them to our gh-pages branch and also automatically push the gh-pages branch to GitHub. Warning: Be aware that you will not be able to review the built site before it is pushed to GitHub! Therefore, you must verify any changes you make to the docs beforehand by using the mkdocs serve command and reviewing the built files locally.

blacklist - Curated and well-maintained host file to block ads, tracking and more! Frequently updated

This repo contains two files, CoinMiner.txt (no longer maintained) and adservers.txt. To block cryptojacking sites, add CoinMiner.txt to your host file or blocklist. To block ads and trackers, add adservers.txt to your host file or blocklist.

pihole-unbound - Guide to setup Unbound recursive DNS resolver with Pi-Hole

  •

Pi-hole includes a caching and forwarding DNS server, now known as FTLDNS. After applying the blocking lists, it forwards requests made by the clients to configured upstream DNS server(s). However, as has been mentioned by several users in the past, this leads to some privacy concerns as it ultimately raises the question: Whom can you trust? Recently, more and more small (and not so small) DNS upstream providers have appeared on the market, advertising free and private DNS service, but how can you know that they keep their promises? Right, you can't. Furthermore, from the point of an attacker, the DNS servers of larger providers are very worthwhile targets, as they only need to poison one DNS server, but millions of users might be affected. Instead of your bank's actual IP address, you could be sent to a phishing site hosted on some island. This scenario has already happened and it isn't unlikely to happen again...

Pi-hole-Block-Page - A "Website Blocked" page to go with https://pi-hole.net

  •    PHP

A stylish and user friendly 'Website Blocked' page to add onto a Pi-hole installation. The goal is to provide concise and relevant feedback to the end user, so they are better informed about the site they are trying to visit. This is very useful because an Internet connection is generally shared with a number of other people (and not just the person who set up Pi-hole on the network).
