mockery - Simplifying the use of mocks with Node.js

  •    Javascript

If you've tried working with mocks in Node.js, you've no doubt discovered that it's not so easy to get your mocks hooked up in the face of Node's module loading system. When your source-under-test pulls in its dependencies through require, you want your mocks provided, instead of the original module, to enable true unit testing of your code. This is exactly the problem Mockery is designed to solve. Mockery gives you a simple and easy to use API with which you can hook in your mocks without having to get your hands dirty with the require cache or other Node implementation details.

Cache - :package: Nothing but Cache.

  •    Swift

Cache doesn't claim to be unique in this area, but it's not another monster library that gives you a god's power. It does nothing but caching, but it does it well. It offers a good public API with out-of-box implementations and great customization possibilities. Cache utilizes Codable in Swift 4 to perform serialization. Cache is built based on Chain-of-responsibility pattern, in which there are many processing objects, each knows how to do 1 task and delegates to the next one. But that's just implementation detail. All you need to know is Storage, it saves and loads Codable objects.

Nuke - A powerful image loading and caching system

  •    Swift

memcached - A fully featured Memcached client build on top of Node

  •    Javascript

memcached is a fully featured Memcached client for Node.js. memcached is built with scaling, high availability and exceptional performance in mind. We use consistent hashing to store the data across different nodes. Consistent hashing is a scheme that provides a hash table functionality in a way that adding or removing a server node does not significantly change the mapping of the keys to server nodes. The algorithm that is used for consistent hashing is the same as libketama. There are different ways to handle errors for example, when a server becomes unavailable you can configure the client to see all requests to that server as cache misses until it goes up again. It's also possible to automatically remove the affected server from the consistent hashing algorithm or provide memcached with a failover server that can take the place of the unresponsive server.

shrinkpack - Fast, resilient, reproducible builds with npm install.

  •    Javascript

Shrinkpack complements the npm shrinkwrap command by maintaining a node_shrinkwrap directory in your project, containing the exact same tarballs that npm install downloads from https://registry.npmjs.org. The rest of the npm install process is exactly the same. The only difference is that no network activity is necessary when installing and building your project. The node_shrinkwrap directory can be ignored in your editor (much like is done with the node_modules directory) but is instead checked into source control.

offline-plugin - Offline plugin (ServiceWorker, AppCache) for webpack (https://webpack.js.org/)

  •    Javascript

This plugin is intended to provide an offline experience for webpack projects. It uses ServiceWorker, and AppCache as a fallback under the hood. Simply include this plugin in your webpack.config, and the accompanying runtime in your client script, and your project will become offline ready by caching all (or some) of the webpack output assets.

Backbone.localStorage - A localStorage adapter for Backbone.js

  •    Javascript

An adapter that replaces Backbone.sync to save to window.localStorage instead of to the server. Note Backbone LocalStorage v2 changes the API to work more with ES6 modules. See Upgrade Notes for more details.

Kingfisher - A lightweight, pure-Swift library for downloading and caching images from the web.

  •    Swift

Kingfisher is a lightweight, pure-Swift library for downloading and caching images from the web. This project is heavily inspired by the popular SDWebImage. It provides you a chance to use a pure-Swift alternative in your next app. Kingfisher will download the image from url, send it to both the memory cache and the disk cache, and display it in imageView. When you use the same code later, the image will be retrieved from cache and shown immediately.

AwesomeCache - Delightful on-disk cache (written in Swift)

  •    Swift

laravel-responsecache - Speed up a Laravel app by caching the entire response

  •    PHP

This Laravel 5.5 package can cache an entire response. By default it will cache all successful get-requests for a week. This could potentially speed up the response quite considerably. So the first time a request comes in the package will save the response before sending it to the users. When the same request comes in again we're not going through the entire application but just respond with the saved response.
