serilog-aspnetcore - Serilog integration for ASP.NET Core 2+

  •    CSharp

Serilog logging for ASP.NET Core. This package routes ASP.NET Core log messages through Serilog, so you can get information about ASP.NET's internal operations logged to the same Serilog sinks as your application events.First, install the Serilog.AspNetCore NuGet package into your app. You will need a way to view the log messages - Serilog.Sinks.Console writes these to the console; there are many more sinks available on NuGet.

SodaPop

  •    CSharp

Configuration can often contain application secrets such as connection strings. As a precautionary measure the end point will only load if the host is localhost and we will also filter out any configuration key which has a name containing ConnectionString. Even with these set, we strongly advise this middleware is only added in development environments. Depending on where you're running, what environment variables are set on the current machine, which configuration options you're using, what order the configuration items are added, which files are present or not present can result in you getting different configuration.

AspNetCoreIdentityEncryption - How to do manual encryption for ASP

  •    CSharp

Firstly let us be clear - this is a sample project meant to demonstrate the capability for developer based encryption in ASP.NET Core Identity 2.1. It is not meant to demonstrate best practice, as it is likely that your business has unique requirements, be they regulatory (HIPAA, GDPR, PCI etc.) or culture driven and no sample can take that into account. You should work with your privacy champions or consultants to work out what is right for your circumstances. This sample is not supported by Microsoft. If you roll your own encryption you risk losing data if you do it wrong. Basically don't do this if you can at all help it.

Basic Authentication started as a demonstration of how to write authentication middleware and was not as something you would seriously consider using, but some people want Basic Authentication and Certificate Authentication is a common request on the ASP.NET Core Security repo, so I am releasing my own versions of them. All work is now targeted at ASP.NET Core 2.0.
