iSniff-GPS - Passive sniffing tool for capturing and visualising WiFi location data disclosed by iOS devices

  •    Python

iSniff GPS passively sniffs for SSID probes, ARPs and MDNS (Bonjour) packets broadcast by nearby iPhones, iPads and other wireless devices. The aim is to collect data which can be used to identify each device and determine previous geographical locations, based solely on information each device discloses about previously joined WiFi networks. iOS devices transmit ARPs which sometimes contain MAC addresses (BSSIDs) of previously joined WiFi networks, as described in [1]. iSniff GPS captures these ARPs and submits MAC addresses to Apple's WiFi location service (masquerading as an iOS device) to obtain GPS coordinates for a given BSSID. If only SSID probes have been captured for a particular device, iSniff GPS can query network names on wigle.net and visualise possible locations.

wifijammer - Continuously jam all wifi clients/routers

  •    Python

Continuously jam all wifi clients and access points within range. The effectiveness of this script is constrained by your wireless card. Alfa cards seem to effectively jam within about a block radius with heavy access point saturation. Granularity is given in the options for more effective targeting. This will find the most powerful wireless interface and turn on monitor mode. If a monitor mode interface is already up it will use the first one it finds instead. It will then start sequentially hopping channels 1 per second from channel 1 to 11 identifying all access points and clients connected to those access points. On the first pass through all the wireless channels it is only identifying targets. After that the 1sec per channel time limit is eliminated and channels are hopped as soon as the deauth packets finish sending. Note that it will still add clients and APs as it finds them after the first pass through.

Geolib - Growing library to provide some basic geo functions

  •    Javascript

Library to provide basic geospatial operations like distance calculation, conversion of decimal coordinates to sexagesimal and vice versa, etc. Takes 2 or 4 arguments. First 2 arguments must be objects that each have latitude and longitude properties (e.g. {latitude: 52.518611, longitude: 13.408056}). Coordinates can be in sexagesimal or decimal format. 3rd argument is accuracy (in meters). So a calculated distance of 1248 meters with an accuracy of 100 is returned as 1200 (accuracy 10 = 1250 etc.). 4th argument is precision in sub-meters (1 is meter presicion, 2 is decimeters, 3 is centimeters, etc).

node-geohash - geohash library for nodejs

  •    Javascript

Geohash library for nodejs. Encode a pair of latitude and longitude values into a geohash. The third argument is optional, you can specify a length of this hash string, which also affects the precision of the geohash.

esp8266_deauther - Scan for WiFi devices, block selected connections, create dozens of networks and confuse WiFi scanners!

  •    C

This software allows you to easily perform a variety of actions to test 802.11 wireless networks by using an inexpensive ESP8266 WiFi SoC (System On A Chip). The main feature, the deauthentication attack, is used to disconnect devices from their WiFi network. No one seems to care about this huge vulnerability in the official 802.11 WiFi standard, so I took action and enabled everyone who has less than 10 USD to spare to recreate this project. I hope it raises more attention on the issue. In 2009 the WiFi Alliance actually fixed the problem (see 802.11w), but only a few companies implemented it into their devices and software. To effectively prevent a deauthentication attack, both client and access point must support the 802.11w standard with protected managment frames (PMF). While most client devices seem to support it when the access point forces it, basically no WiFi access point has it enabled.

FCCurrentLocationGeocoder - iOS Geocoder for forward geocode and reverse geocode user's current location using a block-based syntax

  •    Objective-C

iOS Geocoder on top of LocationManager and CLGeocoder for forward geocode and reverse geocode user's current location using a block-based syntax. It can also be used to geocode the user's approximate location (always country, almost always city) without asking for permission (using a free GeoIP service).

JamWiFi - A GUI, easy to use WiFi network jammer for Mac OS X

  •    Objective-C

JamWiFi allows you to select one or more nearby wireless networks, thereupon presenting a list of clients which are currently active on the network(s). Furthermore, JamWiFi allows you to disconnect clients of your choosing for as long as you wish. Under the hood, JamWiFi uses Apple's CoreWLAN API for channel hopping and network scanning. For a raw packet interface, libpcap provides a good point of abstraction for sending/receiving raw 802.11 frames at the MAC layer. All 802.11 MAC packets include a MAC address source and destination. This allows JamWiFi to determine the stations on a given Access Point.

Google Maps Workshop

  •    Javascript

This project implements the Google Maps API and the open source GeoNames project to provide an interactive geocode workshop. You can move the map, enter addresses, etc., and generate a long/lat-based Google Maps link, as well as download a GPS POI file.

wifi-connect - Easy WiFi setup for Linux devices from your mobile phone or laptop

  •    Rust

WiFi Connect is a utility for dynamically setting the WiFi configuration on a Linux device via a captive portal. WiFi credentials are specified by connecting with a mobile phone or laptop to the access point that WiFi Connect creates. WiFi Connect interacts with NetworkManager, which should be the active network manager on the device's host OS.

node-maxmind - Maxmind GEO Lookup

  •    Javascript

Pure Javascript module for Geo IP lookup using Maxmind binary databases (aka mmdb or geoip2). Fastest Maxmind lookup library available - up to 17,000% faster than other libraries. Module has 100% test coverage with comprehensive test suite. It natively works with binary Maxmind database format and doesn't require any "CSV - {specific lib format}" conversions as some other modules do. Maxmind binary databases are highly optimized for size and performance so there's no point working with other than that format. You might want to use geolite2 module with free geo databases. Alternatively, free databases available for download here. If you need better accuracy you should consider buying commercial subscription.

Connectivity - 🌐 Makes Internet connectivity detection more robust by detecting Wi-Fi networks without Internet access

  •    Swift

Connectivity is a wrapper for Apple's Reachability providing a reliable measure of whether Internet connectivity is available where Reachability alone can only indicate whether an interface is available that might allow a connection. Connectivity's objective is to solve the captive portal problem whereby an iOS device is connected to a WiFi network lacking Internet connectivity. Such situations are commonplace and may occur for example when connecting to a public WiFi network which requires the user to register before use. Connectivity can detect such situations enabling you to react accordingly.

geo - S2 geometry library in Go

  •    Go

This is a library for manipulating geometric shapes. Unlike many geometry libraries, S2 is primarily designed to work with spherical geometry, i.e., shapes drawn on a sphere rather than on a planar 2D map. (In fact, the name S2 is derived from the mathematical notation for the unit sphere.) This makes it especially suitable for working with geographic data.Basic representations of angles, intervals, latitude-longitude points, unit 3D vectors, and conversions among them.

Pelias - Modular open-source geocoder using ElasticSearch

  •    NodeJS

Geocoding is the process of taking input text, such as an address or the name of a place, and returning a latitude/longitude location on the Earth's surface for that place. Reverse geocoding is the opposite, returning a list of places near a given latitude/longitude point. It supports many open-data projects out of the box but also works great with private data. It supports searching and displaying results in many languages.
