respec - A tool for creating technical documents and web standards

  •        4

ReSpec is a JS library that makes it easier to write technical specifications, or documents that tend to be technical in nature in general. It was originally designed for the purpose of writing W3C specifications, but has since grown to be able to support other outputs as well. If you are just interested in writing a spec, you can grab the starter spec.

wpt - Test suites for Web platform specs — including WHATWG, W3C, and others

  •    HTML

The web-platform-tests Project is a W3C-coordinated attempt to build a cross-browser testsuite for the Web-platform stack. Writing tests in a way that allows them to be run in all browsers gives browser projects confidence that they are shipping software that is compatible with other implementations, and that later implementations will be compatible with their implementations. This in turn gives Web authors/developers confidence that they can actually rely on the Web platform to deliver on the promise of working across browsers and devices without needing extra layers of abstraction to paper over the gaps left by specification editors and implementors. Clone or otherwise get https://github.com/web-platform-tests/wpt.

document-register-element - A stand-alone working lightweight version of the W3C Custom Elements specification

  •    Javascript

A stand-alone lightweight version of Custom Elements V1 based on top, and compatible with, the battle-tested Custom Elements V0, already used in production with projects such Google AMP HTML ⚡ and others. If you specify noBuiltIn property as true, the V1 API will be polyfilled where needed, but no extra checks and patches will be applied to make custom elements built-in working, since no browser is currently shipping this part of the specification.

cordova-plugin-media - Mirror of Apache Cordova Plugin media

  •    Javascript

This plugin provides the ability to record and play back audio files on a device.NOTE: The current implementation does not adhere to a W3C specification for media capture, and is provided for convenience only. A future implementation will adhere to the latest W3C specification and may deprecate the current APIs.

xmldom - A PURE JS W3C Standard based(XML DOM Level2 CORE) DOMParser and XMLSerializer.

  •    Javascript

A JavaScript implementation of W3C DOM for Node.js, Rhino and the browser. Fully compatible with W3C DOM level2; and some compatible with level3. Supports DOMParser and XMLSerializer interface such as in browser.

jsdom - A JavaScript implementation of the WHATWG DOM and HTML standards, for use with node.js

  •    Javascript

jsdom is a pure-JavaScript implementation of many web standards, notably the WHATWG DOM and HTML Standards, for use with Node.js. In general, the goal of the project is to emulate enough of a subset of a web browser to be useful for testing and scraping real-world web applications. As of v10, jsdom has a new API (documented below). The old API is still supported for now; see its documentation for details.

Apache Xerces for Java XML Parser

  •    Java

Xerces-J is a validating XML parser written in Java.

AngleSharp - The ultimate angle brackets parser library parsing HTML5, MathML, SVG and CSS to construct a DOM based on the official W3C specifications

  •    CSharp

AngleSharp is a .NET library that gives you the ability to parse angle bracket based hyper-texts like HTML, SVG, and MathML. XML without validation is also supported by the library. An important aspect of AngleSharp is that CSS can also be parsed. The included parser is built upon the official W3C specification. This produces a perfectly portable HTML5 DOM representation of the given source code and ensures compatibility with results in evergreen browsers. Also standard DOM features such as querySelector or querySelectorAll work for tree traversal.

HTML_CodeSniffer - HTML_CodeSniffer is a client-side JavaScript application that checks a HTML document or source code, and detects violations of a defined coding standard

  •    Javascript

HTML_CodeSniffer is a JavaScript application that checks a HTML document or source code, and detects violations of a defined presentation or accessibility standard. By default, HTML_CodeSniffer comes with standards that cover the three conformance levels of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, and the U.S. Section 508 legislation. It also provides tools to write your own standards, which can be useful in situations where you wish to enforce consistency across a web site.

solid - Solid - Re-decentralizing the web (project directory)

  •    HTML

Solid (derived from "social linked data") is a proposed set of conventions and tools for building decentralized Web applications based on Linked Data principles. Solid is modular and extensible. It relies as much as possible on existing W3C standards and protocols. The Solid platform uses the following standards.

schemaorg - Schema.org - schemas and (appengine) software

  •    HTML

This is the Schema.org project repository. It contains all the schemas, examples and software used to publish schema.org. For the site itself, please see Schema.org instead. Issues and proposals are managed here by participants of the W3C Schema.org Community Group. If you are interested to participate please join the group at the W3C, introduce yourself and find or file issues here that engage your interest. If you are new to Git and GitHub, there's a useful introduction to Github in the W3C Wiki.

csstree - A tool set for working with CSS including fast detailed parser, walker, generator and lexer based on W3C specs and browser implementations

  •    Javascript

CSSTree is a tool set to work with CSS, including fast detailed parser (string->AST), walker (AST traversal), generator (AST->string) and lexer (validation and matching) based on knowledge of spec and browser implementations. The main goal is to be efficient and W3C spec compliant, with focus on CSS analyzing and source-to-source transforming tasks. NOTE: The project is in alpha stage since some parts need further improvements, AST format and API are subjects to change. However it's stable enough and used by packages like CSSO (CSS minifier) and SVGO (SVG optimizer) in production.

clreq - Requirements for Chinese Text Layout

  •    HTML

This group exists to explore gaps and requirements for support of languages using Simplified and Traditional Chinese on the Web and in eBooks. It aims to address the problem that experts often don't know how to tell the W3C what problems exist for support of their script on the Web, and the W3C often doesn't know how to contact people who can help when questions arise.

webdriver - Remote control interface that enables introspection and control of user agents.

  •    HTML

WebDriver is a remote control interface that enables introspection and control of user agents. It provides a platform- and language-neutral wire protocol as a way for out-of-process programs to remotely instruct the behavior of web browsers. Provided is a set of interfaces to discover and manipulate DOM elements in web documents and to control the behavior of a user agent. It is primarily intended to allow web authors to write tests that automate a user agent from a separate controlling process, but may also be used in such a way as to allow in-browser scripts to control a — possibly separate — browser.
