prometheus - A docker-compose stack for Prometheus monitoring

  •        77

Before we get started installing the Prometheus stack. Ensure you install the latest version of docker and docker swarm on your Docker host machine. Docker Swarm is installed automatically when using Docker for Mac or Docker for Windows.Clone the project locally to your Docker host.

  •    Shell

A monitoring solution for Docker hosts and containers with Prometheus, Grafana, cAdvisor, NodeExporter and alerting with AlertManager.Navigate to http://<host-ip>:3000 and login with user admin password admin. You can change the credentials in the compose file or by supplying the ADMIN_USER and ADMIN_PASSWORD environment variables on compose up.

docker-monitoring - Docker-Monitoring based on Cadvisor, InfluxDB, and Grafana

  •

Please take a look a the Docker-Monitoring-xx.json file to view the Grafana Dashboard's json file and check out the queries folders for screenshots of the queries in each graph. Also added the docker-compose.yml file to easily stand up the entire Monitoring Stack.

unsee - Alert dashboard for Prometheus Alertmanager

  •    Go

Alert dashboard for Prometheus Alertmanager. Alertmanager UI is useful for browsing alerts and managing silences, but it's lacking as a dashboard tool - unsee aims to fill this gap. Starting with 0.7.0 release it can also aggregate alerts from multiple Alertmanager instances, running either in HA mode or separate. Duplicated alerts are deduplicated so only unique alerts are displayed. Each alert is tagged with names of all Alertmanager instances it was found at and can be filtered based on those tags.

OpenFaaS - A serverless framework for Docker & Kubernetes

  •    Go

OpenFaaS (Functions as a Service) is a framework for building serverless functions with Docker which has first class support for metrics. Any process can be packaged as a function enabling you to consume a range of web events without repetitive boiler-plate coding.

grafana-dashboards - Grafana dashboards for MySQL and MongoDB monitoring using Prometheus

  •    TypeScript

This is a set of Grafana dashboards for database and system monitoring using Prometheus datasource. These dashboards are also a part of Percona Monitoring and Management project.

docker-compose-ui - web interface for Docker Compose

  •    Javascript

Docker Compose UI is a web interface for Docker Compose. The aim of this project is to provide a minimal HTTP API on top of Docker Compose while maintaining full interoperability with Docker Compose CLI.

Portainer - Simple management UI for Docker

  •    Javascript

Portainer is a lightweight management UI which allows you to easily manage your different Docker environments (Docker hosts or Swarm clusters). Portainer is meant to be as simple to deploy as it is to use. It consists of a single container that can run on any Docker engine (can be deployed as Linux container or a Windows native container). It allows you to manage your Docker containers, images, volumes, networks and more ! It is compatible with the standalone Docker engine and with Docker Swarm mode.

docker-grafana-graphite - Docker image with StatsD, Graphite, Grafana 2 and a Kamon Dashboard

  •    Nginx

If you already have services running on your host that are using any of these ports, you may wish to map the container ports to whatever you want by changing left side number in the --publish parameters. You can omit ports you do not plan to use. Find more details about mapping ports in the Docker documentation on Binding container ports to the host and Legacy container links. The Dockerfile and supporting configuration files are available in our Github repository. This comes specially handy if you want to change any of the StatsD, Graphite or Grafana settings, or simply if you want to know how the image was built.

spring-petclinic-microservices - Distributed version of Spring Petclinic built with Spring Cloud

  •    Java

This microservices branch was initially derived from AngularJS version to demonstrate how to split sample Spring application into microservices. To achieve that goal we used Spring Cloud Netflix technology stack. In order to start entire infrastructure using Docker, you have to build images by executing mvn clean install -PbuildDocker from a project root. Once images are ready, you can start them with a single command docker-compose up. Containers startup order is coordinated with wait-for-it.sh script. After starting services it takes a while for API Gateway to be in sync with service registry, so don't be scared of initial Zuul timeouts. You can track services availability using Eureka dashboard available by default at http://localhost:8761.

pgwatch2 - PostgreSQL metrics monitor/dashboard

  •    Go

Software is packaged as Docker (for custom setup see the last paragraph below, for a Docker quickstart see here) for getting started quickly. After some minutes you could open the "db-overview" dashboard and start looking at metrics. For defining your own dashboards you need to log in as admin (admin/pgwatch2admin). NB! If you don't want to add the "test" database (the pgwatch2 configuration db) for monitoring set the NOTESTDB=1 env parameter when launching the image.

kubernetes-prometheus - Kubernetes Setup for Prometheus and Grafana

  •    Shell

This will create the namespace monitoring and bring up all components in there. See grafana.net for some example dashboards and plugins.

kafka-stack-docker-compose - docker compose files to create a fully working kafka stack

  •    Shell

This replicates as well as possible real deployment configurations, where you have your zookeeper servers and kafka servers actually all distinct from each other. This solves all the networking hurdles that comes with Docker and docker-compose, and is compatible cross platform. This configuration fits most development requirements.

PiCluster - Manage Docker Containers

  •    Javascript

PiCluster is a simple way to manage Docker containers on multiple hosts. Docker Swarm not that good and Kubernetes was too difficult to install currently on ARM. PiCluster will only build and run images from Dockerfile's on the host specified in the config file. This software will work on regular x86 hardware also and is not tied to ARM.

Swarm - Docker native clustering system

  •    Go

Docker Swarm is native clustering for Docker. It turns a pool of Docker hosts into a single, virtual host. It is Docker's first container orchestration project that began in 2014. Combined with Docker Compose, it's a very convenient tool to schedule containers.

docker-elk - The ELK stack powered by Docker and Compose.

  •    Dockerfile

Run the latest version of the Elastic stack with Docker and Docker Compose. It will give you the ability to analyze any data set by using the searching/aggregation capabilities of Elasticsearch and the visualization power of Kibana.

Grafana - The leading graph and dashboard builder for visualizing time series metrics

  •    Go

Grafana is an open source, feature rich metrics dashboard and graph editor for Graphite, Elasticsearch, OpenTSDB, Prometheus and InfluxDB. It is most commonly used for visualizing time series data for Internet infrastructure and application analytics but many use it in other domains including industrial sensors, home automation, weather, and process control.

colossus - Colossus — An example microservice architecture for Kubernetes using Bazel, Go, Java, Docker, Kubernetes, Minikube, Gazelle, gRPC, Prometheus, Grafana, and more

  •    Python

Wait a second, these services don't do anything meaningful! Nope, they sure don't. But that's okay because the point of this project is to show you how to get the basic (yet not-at-all-trivial) plumbing to work. Colossus is a boilerplate project that's meant as a springboard to more complex and meaningful projects. Getting all of these technologies to work together was a real challenge. I had to dig through countless GitHub issues and dozens of example projects to make all these things work together. I'm offering this repo as a starter pack for other people with a Bazel monorepo targeting Kubernetes.
