tocbot - Build a table of contents from headings in an HTML document.

  •        92

Tocbot builds a table of contents (TOC) from headings in an HTML document. This is useful for documentation websites or long markdown pages because it makes them easier to navigate. This library was inspired by Tocify, the main difference is that Tocbot uses native DOM methods and avoids the jQuery & jQuery UI dependencies. You can use npm to install it or include the script on the page with HTML.

mammoth.js - Convert Word documents (.docx files) to HTML

  •    Javascript

Mammoth is designed to convert .docx documents, such as those created by Microsoft Word, and convert them to HTML. Mammoth aims to produce simple and clean HTML by using semantic information in the document, and ignoring other details. For instance, Mammoth converts any paragraph with the style Heading 1 to h1 elements, rather than attempting to exactly copy the styling (font, text size, colour, etc.) of the heading. There's a large mismatch between the structure used by .docx and the structure of HTML, meaning that the conversion is unlikely to be perfect for more complicated documents. Mammoth works best if you only use styles to semantically mark up your document.

db-to-api - Turns a Database into a Secure, RESTful API

  •    PHP

Dynamically generate RESTful APIs from the contents of a database table. Provides JSON, XML, and HTML. Supports most popular databases. Creating an API to access information within existing database tables is laborious task, when done as a bespoke task. This is often dealt with by exporting the contents of the database as CSV files, and providing downloads of them as a “good enough” solution.

bootlint - HTML linter for Bootstrap projects

  •    Javascript

Bootlint is a tool that checks for several common HTML mistakes in webpages that are using Bootstrap in a fairly "vanilla" way. Vanilla Bootstrap's components/widgets require their parts of the DOM to conform to certain structures. Bootlint checks that instances of Bootstrap components have correctly-structured HTML. Optimal usage of Bootstrap also requires that your pages include certain <meta> tags, an HTML5 doctype declaration, etc.; Bootlint checks that these are present. Bootlint assumes that your webpage is already valid HTML5. If you need to check HTML5 validity, we recommend tools like vnu.jar, grunt-html, or grunt-html-validation.

kableExtra - Construct Complex Table with knitr::kable() + pipe

  •    R

However, the ultimate simplicity of kable() also brought troubles to some of us, especially for new R users, who may not have a lot of experience on generating tables in R. It is not rare to see people including experienced users asking questions like how to center/left-align a table on Stack Overflow. Also, for me personally, I found myself repeatedly parsing CSS into kable() for some very simple features like striped lines. For LaTeX, it's even worse since I'm almost Stack Overflow dependent for LaTeX... That's why this package kableExtra was created. This package can load required LaTeX package automatically in vanilla rmarkdown. For customized rmarkdown templates, it is recommended to load related LaTeX packages manually.

metamorph.js

  •    Javascript

Metamorph.js is a library that allows you to create a string of HTML, insert it into the DOM, and update the contents later. It works for normal cases, like inserting text into a <p> tag, and more complicated cases, like updating an <li> inside a <ul> or a <tr> inside a <table> (even after the <tbody> was automatically generated). The motivation for the Metamorph library is to make it possible for template engines to insert arbitrary content into a String of outputted HTML that they are generating with the ability to replace exactly that content later.

go-wkhtmltopdf - Golang commandline wrapper for wkhtmltopdf

See http://wkhtmltopdf.org/index.html for wkhtmltopdf docs. We needed a way to generate PDF documents from Go. These vary from invoices with highly customizable lay-outs to reports with tables, graphs and images. In our opinion the best way to do this was by using HTML/CSS templates as source for our PDFs. Using CSS print media types and millimeters instead of pixel units we can generate very acurate PDF documents using wkhtmltopdf.
