Gloo - The Function Gateway built on top of Envoy

  •        91

Gloo is a feature-rich, Kubernetes-native ingress controller, and next-generation API gateway. Gloo is exceptional in its function-level routing; its support for legacy apps, microservices and serverless; its discovery capabilities; its numerous features; and its tight integration with leading open-source projects. Gloo is uniquely designed to support hybrid applications, in which multiple technologies, architectures, protocols, and clouds can coexist.

Gloo provides a long list of API gateway features, including rate limiting, circuit breaking, retries, caching, external authentication and authorization, transformation, service-mesh integration, and security.

Gloo can route requests directly to functions, which can be a serverless function call (e.g. Lambda, Google Cloud Function, OpenFaaS function, etc.), an API call on a microservice or a legacy service (e.g. a REST API call, OpenAPI operation, XML/SOAP request etc.), or publishing to a message queue (e.g. NATS, AMQP, etc.). This unique ability is what makes Gloo the only API gateway that supports hybrid apps, as well as the only one that does not tie the user to a specific paradigm.

serverless-offline - Emulate AWS λ and API Gateway locally when developing your Serverless project

  •    Javascript

Thank you for all your support. In the upcomming days my availability on this project should decline. This is why I'm looking for maintainers: anyone that pushed a successful PR and is willing to manage the upcomming ones is welcome to apply. To do so just comment on this issue. This Serverless plugin emulates AWS λ and API Gateway on your local machine to speed up your development cycles. To do so, it starts an HTTP server that handles the request's lifecycle like APIG does and invokes your handlers.

aws-serverless-auth-reference-app - Serverless reference app and backend API, showcasing authentication and authorization patterns using Amazon Cognito, Amazon API Gateway, AWS Lambda, and AWS IAM

  •    TypeScript

SpaceFinder is a reference mobile app that allows users to book conference rooms, work desks, and other shared resources. The app showcases serverless authentication and authorization using the AWS platform. The mobile front-end is built using the Ionic 3 framework and client libraries to call AWS services and mobile backend APIs. The backend APIs themselves are powered by AWS services. The backend APIs are built using a serverless architecture, which makes it easy to deploy updates, and it also means that there are no servers to operationally manage.

gloo - Collective communications library with various primitives for multi-machine training.

  •    C++

Gloo is a collective communications library. It comes with a number of collective algorithms useful for machine learning applications. These include a barrier, broadcast, and allreduce. Transport of data between participating machines is abstracted so that IP can be used at all times, or InifiniBand (or RoCE) when available. In the latter case, if the InfiniBand transport is used, GPUDirect can be used to accelerate cross machine GPU-to-GPU memory transfers.

aws-serverless-java-container - A Java wrapper to run Spring, Jersey, Spark, and other apps inside AWS Lambda

  •    Java

The aws-serverless-java-container is collection of interfaces and their implementations that let you run Java application written with frameworks such as Jersey or Spark in AWS Lambda. The library contains a core artifact called aws-serverless-java-container-core that defines the interfaces and base classes required as well as default implementation of the Java servlet HttpServletRequest and HttpServletResponse. The library also includes two initial implementations of the interfaces to support Jersey apps (aws-serverless-java-container-jersey) and Spark (aws-serverless-java-container-spark).

aws-sam-local - AWS SAM Local 🐿 is a CLI tool for local development and testing of Serverless applications

  •    Go

sam is the AWS CLI tool for managing Serverless applications written with AWS Serverless Application Model (SAM). SAM Local can be used to test functions locally, start a local API Gateway from a SAM template, validate a SAM template, and generate sample payloads for various event sources.Running Serverless projects and functions locally with SAM Local requires Docker to be installed and running. SAM Local will use the DOCKER_HOST environment variable to contact the docker daemon.

claudia - Deploy Node.js projects to AWS Lambda and API Gateway easily

  •    Javascript

Claudia makes it easy to deploy Node.js projects to AWS Lambda and API Gateway. It automates all the error-prone deployment and configuration tasks, and sets everything up the way JavaScript developers expect out of the box. This means that you can get started with Lambda and API Gateway easily, and focus on solving important business problems instead of dealing with AWS deployment workflows. Check out this video to see how to create and deploy a microservice in under 5 minutes. With the help of Claudia builder projects, you can also use API Gateway as if it were a lightweight javascript web server, or create and deploy chat bots for various platforms easily.

serverless-image-resizing - CloudFormation template to resize images on-the-fly using Amazon API Gateway, AWS Lambda, and Amazon S3

  •    Javascript

Resizes images on the fly using Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, and Amazon API Gateway. Using a conventional URL structure and S3 static website hosting with redirection rules, requests for resized images are redirected to a Lambda function via API Gateway which will resize the image, upload it to S3, and redirect the requestor to the resized image. The next request for the resized image will be served from S3 directly.Use the Amazon Linux Docker container image to build the package using your local system. This repo includes Makefile that will download Amazon Linux, install Node.js and developer tools, and build the extensions using Docker. Run make all.

vispy - Main repository for Vispy

  •    Python

If you're in the first category, you can already start using VisPy. VisPy offers a Pythonic, NumPy-aware, user-friendly interface for OpenGL ES 2.0 called gloo. You can focus on writing your GLSL code instead of dealing with the complicated OpenGL API - VisPy takes care of that automatically for you. If you're in the second category, we're starting to build experimental high-level plotting interfaces. Notably, VisPy now ships a very basic and experimental OpenGL backend for matplotlib.

Zappa - Serverless Python Web Services

  •    Python

With a traditional HTTP server, the server is online 24/7, processing requests one by one as they come in. If the queue of incoming requests grows too large, some requests will time out. With Zappa, each request is given its own virtual HTTP "server" by Amazon API Gateway. AWS handles the horizontal scaling automatically, so no requests ever time out. Each request then calls your application from a memory cache in AWS Lambda and returns the response via Python's WSGI interface. After your app returns, the "server" dies.
