voca - The ultimate JavaScript string library

  •    Javascript

The Voca library offers helpful functions to make string manipulations comfortable: change case, trim, pad, slugify, latinise, sprintf'y, truncate, escape and much more. The modular design allows to load the entire library, or individual functions to minimize the application builds. The library is fully tested, well documented and long-term supported. Voca can be used in various environments.

strip-json-comments - Strip comments from JSON. Lets you use comments in your JSON files!

  •    Javascript

It will replace single-line comments // and multi-line comments /**/ with whitespace. This allows JSON error positions to remain as close as possible to the original source. Also available as a gulp/grunt/broccoli plugin.

learn-regex - Learn regex the easy way

  •

Regular expression is a group of characters or symbols which is used to find a specific pattern from a text. A regular expression is a pattern that is matched against a subject string from left to right. The word "Regular expression" is a mouthful, you will usually find the term abbreviated as "regex" or "regexp". Regular expression is used for replacing a text within a string, validating form, extract a substring from a string based upon a pattern match, and so much more.

strip-loader - Webpack loader to strip arbitrary functions out of your production code.

  •    Javascript

There have been a lot of long standing issues that haven't been addressed and we haven't had the time to dedicate to this library. If I were to restart this project today, it would probably be a codemod script using Facebook's jscodeshift. The regex based approach in this loader only works for very basic use cases. Simple Webpack loader to strip custom functions from your code. This can be useful if you want to use debug statements while developing your app but don't want this info exposed in your production code.

string.js - Extra JavaScript string methods.

  •    Javascript

string.js, or simply S is a lightweight (< 5 kb minified and gzipped) JavaScript library for the browser or for Node.js that provides extra String methods. Originally, it modified the String prototype. But I quickly learned that in JavaScript, this is considered poor practice.Personally, I prefer the cleanliness of the way code looks when it appears to be native methods. i.e. when you modify native JavaScript prototypes. However, if any app dependency required string.js, then the app's string prototype would be modified in every module. This could be troublesome. So I settled on creating a wrapper a la jQuery style. For those of you prototype hatin' fools, there is the method extendPrototype().

python-versioneer - version-string management for VCS-controlled trees

  •    Python

This is a tool for managing a recorded version number in distutils-based python projects. The goal is to remove the tedious and error-prone "update the embedded version string" step from your release process. Making a new release should be as easy as recording a new tag in your version-control system, and maybe making new tarballs. For released software, the version identifier is closely related to a VCS tag. Some projects use tag names that include more than just the version string (e.g. "myproject-1.2" instead of just "1.2"), in which case the tool needs to strip the tag prefix to extract the version identifier. For unreleased software (between tags), the version identifier should provide enough information to help developers recreate the same tree, while also giving them an idea of roughly how old the tree is (after version 1.2, before version 1.3). Many VCS systems can report a description that captures this, for example git describe --tags --dirty --always reports things like "0.7-1-g574ab98-dirty" to indicate that the checkout is one revision past the 0.7 tag, has a unique revision id of "574ab98", and is "dirty" (it has uncommitted changes.

vhost - virtual domain hosting

  •    Javascript

Create a new middleware function to hand off request to handle when the incoming host for the request matches hostname. The function is called as handle(req, res, next), like a standard middleware. hostname can be a string or a RegExp object. When hostname is a string it can contain * to match 1 or more characters in that section of the hostname. When hostname is a RegExp, it will be forced to case-insensitive (since hostnames are) and will be forced to match based on the start and end of the hostname.

regexp-examples - Generate strings that match a given regular expression

  •    Ruby

Regexp#examples generates a list of all* strings that will match the given regular expression. Regexp#random_example returns one, random string (from all possible strings!!) that matches the regex.

slugg - Make strings url safe

  •    Javascript

Make strings url-safe. By default, slugg will strip (i.e. remove and not replace) any sort of quotemark: '"’‘”“.

Convert Regex to XML and back

  •

This is a small library + demo that transforms a .NET regular expression into an XML string and back. It helps understanding a long regex that was written by someone else, and allows easy editing. It's is developed in .NET 3.5 C#, sources included.

Strip Charts for GtkPlot

strip - Strip - An Unobtrusive Responsive Lightbox

Navigation tab strip with smooth interaction. You can check the sample app here.

randexp.js - Create random strings that match a given regular expression.

  •    Javascript

randexp will generate a random string that matches a given RegExp Javascript object. Thanks to String-Random for giving me the idea to make this in the first place and randexp for the sweet .gen() syntax.

Theatre - Pet project using Clean Architecture + MVVM + Reactive Extensions + Android Architecture Components

  •    Kotlin

Pet project using Clean Architecture + MVVM + Reactive Extensions + Android Architecture Components. The data is fetched from LondonTheatreDirect API. The overriding rule of this architecture says that the source code dependencies always point inwards. The outer tiers can only dependent of inner tiers. Therefore, the inner tiers know nothing about the outer tiers. The more further you go through the concentric circles, the higher level the software becomes. Which means that the level of abstraction increases.

redux-devtools - DevTools for Redux with hot reloading, action replay, and customizable UI

  •    Javascript

Note that the implemention in this repository is different from Redux DevTools Extension. Please refer to the latter for browser extension. Redux DevTools is a development time package that provides power-ups for your Redux development workflow. Be careful to strip its code in production (see walkthrough for instructions)! To use Redux DevTools, you need to choose a “monitor”—a React component that will serve as a UI for the DevTools. Different tasks and workflows require different UIs, so Redux DevTools is built to be flexible in this regard. We recommend using LogMonitor for inspecting the state and time travel, and wrap it in a DockMonitor to quickly move it across the screen. That said, when you’re comfortable rolling up your own setup, feel free to do this, and share it with us.
