speedtest - Command line client for speedtest.net written in Go

  •    Go

I no longer have time to actively develop this code. There are currently multiple speed issues that i don't have time to track down. It appears that Ookla is working on a beta site that will completely change the interface which woudl require a pretty much complete rewrite. For the moment i will accept and patches but i wont be actively doing any development. The Unofficial Speedtest CLI is a command-line program to test bandwidth in situations where you don't have access to a full GUI environment and web browser.

network.js - Make accurate network measures (like Speedtest) in your browser

  •    Javascript

A JavaScript library, entirely written in ES6, to measure various aspects of a connection. It can accurately estimate a bandwidth/latency between a client (using a web browser) and a server (running a specific script). I'm not working on Network.js anymore because I don't have time for it. It will stay on hold until I found some time to work on it or until someone wants to become the new maintainer of this project.

speedtest-cli - Command line interface for testing internet bandwidth using speedtest.net

  •    Python

See the wiki. It is not a goal of this application to be a reliable latency reporting tool.

speedtest - Self-hosted HTML5 Speedtest

  •    HTML

No Flash, No Java, No Websocket, No Bullshit. This is a very lightweight Speedtest implemented in Javascript, using XMLHttpRequest and Web Workers.

Speed Test

Speed Test is a multi user test case management application designed for software testers. It is similar to TestLink, another open source app, but written for the desktop with reports provided via a Silverlight web app.

tmi - TMI (Too Many Images) - discover your image weight on the web

  •    Javascript

Find out the image weight in your pages, compare to the BigQuery quantiles and discover what images you can optimize further. Verbose mode will show you a detailed summary of which images needs improving.

Azureus Speed Control

  •    Java

Azureus Speed Control plugin can automatically reduce the upload speed limit on the basis of the current download rate. This can avoid connection choking for users with small upload bandwidth, which suffer from implicit additional upload.

  •    Javascript

Throttle is a simple node.js app that makes it easier to test how a website performs on poor network connections. For example, testing a responsive website on a poor 3G connection without actually having to have a poor 3G connection. Simply connect your Mac to ethernet, share the network connection via Airport, run Throttle, and any connected device will then be throttled to the the network speed you specified. Throttle was designed to be used in conjunction with a device lab and products like s

TwitchLeecher - Twitch Leecher - The Broadcast Downloader

  •    CSharp

Yes! Just because there are no commits for a longer period of time, does not mean the project is dead. I am a human being with a life and TL never was an still is not my top priority. I will always try to keep it running if there are breaking changes, but new features can take time. If I dicide to discontinue TL (which is very unlikely) you WILL be informed very clearly. Nearly all of the well known VOD downloaders execute the download process via FFMPEG's integrated download capabilities. However, this is extremely slow. The download speed rarely exceeds 1.5Mbit even if the internet connection is 100 times faster. Twitch Leecher does not use FFMPEG for download tasks at all. It downloads thousands of small video chunks in parallel while using all of the available bandwidth of your internet connection. As soon as all video chunks are downloaded, FFMPEG is only used to merge those chunks together in order to create a single video file again.

tinyproxy - tinyproxy - a light-weight HTTP/HTTPS proxy daemon for POSIX operating systems

  •    C

Tinyproxy is a small, efficient HTTP/SSL proxy daemon released under the GNU General Public License. Tinyproxy is very useful in a small network setting, where a larger proxy would either be too resource intensive, or a security risk. One of the key features of Tinyproxy is the buffering connection concept. In effect, Tinyproxy will buffer a high speed response from a server, and then relay it to a client at the highest speed the client will accept. This feature greatly reduces the problems with sluggishness on the Internet. If you are sharing an Internet connection with a small network, and you only want to allow HTTP requests to be allowed, then Tinyproxy is a great tool for the network administrator. For more info, please visit the Tinyproxy web site.

xxHash - Extremely fast non-cryptographic hash algorithm

  •    C

xxHash is an Extremely fast Hash algorithm, running at RAM speed limits. It successfully completes the SMHasher test suite which evaluates collision, dispersion and randomness qualities of hash functions. Code is highly portable, and hashes are identical on all platforms (little / big endian).Q.Score is a measure of quality of the hash function. It depends on successfully passing SMHasher test set. 10 is a perfect score. Algorithms with a score < 5 are not listed on this table.

speed-measure-webpack-plugin - ⏱ See how fast (or not) your plugins and loaders are, so you can optimise your builds

  •    Javascript

The first step to optimising your webpack build speed, is to know where to focus your attention. SMP follows semver. If upgrading a major version, you can consult the migration guide.

speedline - Calculate the speed index and visual performance metrics from chrome dev tool timeline (recently: pmdartus -> paulirish)

  •    Javascript

The Navigation Timing API provides useful data that can be used to measure the performance of a website. Unfortunately this API has never been good at capturing the actual user experience. The Speed Index, introduced by WebpageTest.org, aims to solve this issue. It measures how fast the page content is visually displayed. The current implementation is based on the Visual Progress from Video Capture calculation method described on the Speed Index page. The visual progress is calculated by comparing the distance between the histogram of the current frame and the final frame.

storybook - Interactive UI component dev & test: React, React Native, Vue, Angular

  •    Javascript

Storybook is a development environment for UI components. It allows you to browse a component library, view the different states of each component, and interactively develop and test components. Storybook runs outside of your app. This allows you to develop UI components in isolation, which can improve component reuse, testability, and development speed. You can build quickly without having to worry about application-specific dependencies.

JMeter - Load and Performance tester

  •    Java

JMeter is a pure Java desktop application designed to load test functional behavior and measure performance. It may be used to test performance both on static and dynamic resources (files, Servlets, Perl scripts, Java Objects, Data Bases and Queries, FTP Servers and more). It can be used to simulate a heavy load on a server, network or object to test its strength or to analyze overall performance under different load types.

NaYaBoh Internet Server

  •    Perl

NaYaBoh is an „Internet Proxy and Gateway“, especially designed to enhance Internet access in developing countries. NaYaBoh tries to be as simple as possible to use. Speed up your Internet, save bandwidth: web/dns caching, advertisement blocking.

TeDi: test suite for distance transforms

  •    C

A test suite and benchmark for exact Euclidean distance transform algorithms used in Image Processing and computational geometry. It evaluates the exactness and speed of algorithms for a large number of test cases. Results can be visualized in Scilab.
