pure - A set of small, responsive CSS modules that you can use in every web project.

  •    HTML

Now, all Pure CSS files should be built into the `pure/build/` directory. Allfiles that are in this build directory are also available on the CDN. The namingconventions of the files in the `build/` directory follow these rules:* `[module]-core.css`: The minimal set of styles, ususally structural, that provide the base on which the rest of the module's styles build.* `[module]-nr.css`: Rollup of `[module]-core.css` + `[module].css` + `[module]-[feature].css` from the `src/[module]/` dir. postcss-import - PostCSS plugin to inline @import rules content

  •    Javascript

PostCSS plugin to transform @import rules by inlining content. This plugin can consume local files, node modules or web_modules. To resolve path of an @import rule, it can look into root directory (by default process.cwd()), web_modules, node_modules or local modules. When importing a module, it will look for index.css or file referenced in package.json in the style or main fields. You can also provide manually multiples paths where to look at.

jQuery-Store-Locator-Plugin - A store locator plugin using Google Maps API version 3

  •    Javascript

This jQuery plugin takes advantage of Google Maps API version 3 to create an easy to implement store locator. No back-end programming is required, you just need to feed it KML, XML, or JSON data with all the location information. How you create the data file is up to you. I originally created this for a company that didn’t have many locations, so I just used a static XML file. You will need to geocode your locations beforehand or use a geocoding API service if you want to try to do it on the fly. The reason for this is that all free geocoding APIs have strict limits that would easily be exceeded. In the end, you're much better off storing the coordinates versus having to look them up for each location on each request. A note on the distance calculation: this plugin currently uses a distance function that I found on the blog of Chris Pietschmann. Google Maps API version 3 does include a distance calculation service (Google Distance Matrix API) but I decided not to use it because of the current request limits, which seem somewhat low. For v2 I also tried experimenting with the Directions API to request distances but also found the limits to be too restrictive. So, the distance calculation is “as the crow flies” instead of a road distance calculation. However, if you use the inline directions option that does provide the distance that's returned via the directions request.

serviceworker-rails - Use Service Worker with the Rails asset pipeline

  •    Ruby

The Rails asset pipeline makes a number of assumptions about what's best for deploying JavaScript, including asset digest fingerprints and long-lived cache headers - mostly to increase "cacheability". Rails also assumes a single parent directory, /public/assets, to make it easier to look up the file path for a given asset. Service workers may only be active from within the scope from which they are served. So if you try to register a service worker from a Rails asset pipeline path, like /assets/serviceworker-abcd1234.js, it will only be able to interact with requests and responses within /assets/**. This is not what we want.

scripty - Because no one should be shell-scripting inside a JSON file.

  •    Javascript

Indeed, this is much simpler, but it can quickly become a mess. Take a look at what happened to our testdouble.js library's package.json. Using npm-scripts for everything is simple to start with, but it can't hope to guard against the complexity that naturally accumulates over the life of a project. From this point on, you can run npm run foo:bar and scripty will use npm's built-in npm_lifecycle_event environment variable to look up scripts/foo/bar and execute it for you.

Walkable-App - Walkable-App is an open source application that shows location based points of interest, based on your current location

  •    Javascript

Walkable Restaurants provides you with an easy way to find a bite to eat or refreshing drink anywhere in the US. Either select a type of cuisine, or enter a search phrase, and the Walkable Restaurants app will find destinations that are nearby. Only destinations near your current location will be returned in your search result. If we are able to calculate travel times based upon walking and train schedules, then we will only return destinations within a 20-minute walk. If we are not able to calculate walk time, only destinations within 2.5 miles of your current location will be displayed. All walking/travel time distance calculations are obtained through Travel Time, by Igeolise. This service calcualtes travel time between geographic locations based upon walking, driving, and mass transit systems.

match - :crystal_ball: Scalable reverse image search built on Kubernetes and Elasticsearch

  •    Python

Match makes it easy to search for images that look similar to each other. Using a state-of-the-art perceptual hash, it is invariant to scaling and 90 degree rotations. Its HTTP API is quick to integrate and flexible for a number of reverse image search applications. Kubernetes and Elasticsearch allow Match to scale to billions of images with ease while giving you full control over where your data is stored. Match uses the awesome ascribe/image-match under the hood for most of the image search legwork. The number of gunicorn workers to spin up.

nps - :100: All the benefits of npm scripts without the cost of a bloated package

  •    Javascript

Even though npm scripts have a ton of advantages (learn more), it can grow into an unmaintainable mess in your package.json file. Part of the problem is we're configuring scripts in json which has fundamental issues (like no comments). To use nps, it's recommended that you either install it globally (npm i -g nps) or add ./node_modules/bin to your $PATH (be careful that you know what you're doing when doing this, find out how here).

babel-plugin-module-resolver - Custom module resolver plugin for Babel

  •    Javascript

A Babel plugin to add a new resolver for your modules when compiling your code using Babel. This plugin allows you to add new "root" directories that contain your modules. It also allows you to setup a custom alias for directories, specific files, or even other npm modules. This plugin can simplify the require/import paths in your project. For example, instead of using complex relative paths like ../../../../utils/my-utils, you can write utils/my-utils. It will allow you to work faster since you won't need to calculate how many levels of directory you have to go up before accessing the file.

RapidFTR - RapidFTR streamlines and speeds up the Family Tracing and Reunification process using small handheld devices to collect information

  •    Ruby

RapidFTR is an Android-based mobile application that lets aid workers collect, sort and share information about children in emergency situations. RapidFTR is specifically designed to streamline and speed up Family Tracing and Reunification efforts both in the immediate aftermath of a crisis and during ongoing recovery efforts. RapidFTR allows for quick input of essential data about a child on a mobile phone, including a photograph, the child's age, family, health status and location information. Data is saved automatically and uploaded to a central database whenever network access becomes available. Registered aid workers will be able to create and modify entries for children in their care as well as search all existing records in order to help distressed parents find information about their missing children. Because RapidFTR is designed specifically to collect and distribute information about children, data security is extremely important.

vim-localvimrc - Search local vimrc files ("

  •    Vim

This plugin searches for local vimrc files in the file system tree of the currently opened file. It searches for all ".lvimrc" files from the directory of the file up to the root directory. By default those files are loaded in order from the root directory to the directory of the file. The filename and amount of loaded files are customizable through global variables. For security reasons it the plugin asks for confirmation before loading a local vimrc file and loads it using |:sandbox| command. The plugin asks once per session and local vimrc before loading it, if the file didn't change since previous loading.

itc-api-docs - The unofficial documentation of the iTunes Connect JSON API

  •    Ruby

As there was a bigger change on iTunes Connect in September 2015 I don't find the time maintaining the docs. Instead I focus on keeping spaceship (GitHub) up to date. Take a look at what was necessary to update from the old iTunes Connect API to the new one in this pull request. This document describes the iTunes Connect JSON API and how to use it. The API is used by the AngularJS based iTunes Connect front-end to update app metadata. It is public once you have a valid session.

packagephobia - ⚖️ Find the cost of adding a new dev dependency to your project

laravel-ide-helper - Laravel IDE Helper

  •    PHP

This package generates a file that your IDE understands, so it can provide accurate autocompletion. Generation is done based on the files in your project, so they are always up-to-date. If you don't want to generate it, you can add a pre-generated file to the root folder of your Laravel project (but this isn't as up-to-date as self generated files). Laravel 5.5 uses Package Auto-Discovery, so doesn't require you to manually add the ServiceProvider.

esprint - Fast eslint runner

  •    Javascript

esprint (pronounced E-S-sprint) speeds up eslint by running the linting engine across multiple threads. esprint sets up a server daemon to cache the lint status of each file in memory. It uses a watcher to determine when files change, to only lint files as necessary. It also has a CI mode where it does not set up a daemon and just lints in parallel. esprint will find the root of your project automatically and lint the whole project. In default mode, esprint will start a background server to watch source files and cache lint results in memory.

palladium - Framework for setting up predictive analytics services

  •    Python

Palladium provides means to easily set up predictive analytics services as web services. It is a pluggable framework for developing real-world machine learning solutions. It provides generic implementations for things commonly needed in machine learning, such as dataset loading, model training with parameter search, a web service, and persistence capabilities, allowing you to concentrate on the core task of developing an accurate machine learning model. Having a well-tested core framework that is used for a number of different services can lead to a reduction of costs during development and maintenance due to harmonization of different services being based on the same code base and identical processes. Palladium has a web service overhead of a few milliseconds only, making it possible to set up services with low response times. A configuration file lets you conveniently tie together existing components with components that you developed. As an example, if what you want to do is to develop a model where you load a dataset from a CSV file or an SQL database, and train an SVM classifier to predict one of the rows in the data given the others, and then find out about your model's accuracy, then that's what Palladium allows you to do without writing a single line of code. However, it is also possible to independently integrate own solutions.
