node-fs-extra - Node.js: extra methods for the fs object like copy(), remove(), mkdirs()

  •    Javascript

fs-extra adds file system methods that aren't included in the native fs module and adds promise support to the fs methods. It should be a drop in replacement for fs.I got tired of including mkdirp, rimraf, and ncp in most of my projects.

It's the patterns you type when you do stuff like ls *.js in your shell or put src/* in a .gitignore file. When used to match filenames, it's sometimes called a "wildcard".

sortphotos - SortPhotos is a Python script that organizes photos and videos into folders using date/time information

  •    Perl

SortPhotos is a Python script that organizes photos into folders by date and/or time (year, year/month, year/month/day, or other custom formats). If you're like me then your growing collection of files are contained in a bunch of folders, some with a date like "Sep 2010", and others which names like "Camping Trip". SortPhotos takes this collection of folders and files and reorganizes them into a hierarchy of folders by almost any custom date/time format (by default it is by year then month). It will work with any file, but works best with image and video files that contain EXIF or other metadata formats because that stays with the file even if the files are modified. The script is also useful for transferring files from your camera into your collection of nicely organized photos. The simplest usage is to specify a source directory (the directory where your mess of files is currently located) and a destination directory (where you want the files and directories to go). By default the source directory it is not searched recursively but that can changed with a flag as discussed below.

docker-cleanup - Automatic Docker image, container and volume cleanup

  •    Shell

This image will periodically clean up exited containers and remove images and volumes that aren't in use by a running container. Based on tutumcloud/image-cleanup and chadoe/docker-cleanup-volumes with some small fixes. WARNING: This script will remove all exited containers, data-only containers and unused images unless you carefully exclude them. Take care if you mount /var/lib/docker into the container since that will clean up all unused data volumes. If it's not compatible with your system or Docker version it may delete all your volumes, even from under running containers.

mock-fs - Configurable mock for the fs module

  •    Javascript

The mock-fs module allows Node's built-in fs module to be backed temporarily by an in-memory, mock file system. This lets you run tests against a set of mock files and directories instead of lugging around a bunch of test fixtures. The code below makes it so the fs module is temporarily backed by a mock file system with a few files and directories.

fwanalyzer - a tool to analyze filesystem images for security

  •    Go

FwAnalyzer is a tool to analyze (ext2/3/4), FAT/VFat, SquashFS, UBIFS filesystem images, cpio archives, and directory content using a set of configurable rules. FwAnalyzer relies on e2tools for ext filesystems, mtools for FAT filesystems, squashfs-tools for SquashFS filesystems, and ubi_reader for UBIFS filesystems. cpio for cpio archives. SELinux/Capability support for ext2/3/4 images requires a patched version of e2tools. SELinux/Capability support for SquashFS images requires a patched version of squashfs-tools. The main idea of FwAnalyzer is to provide a tool for rapid analysis of filesystem images as part of a firmware security Q&A check suite. FwAnalyzer takes a configuration file that defines various rules for files and directories and runs the configured checks against a given filesystem image. The output of FwAnalyzer is a report, which contains the list of files that violate any of the rules specified in the configuration. The report further contains meta information about the filesystem image and, if configured, information extracted from files within the analyzed filesystem. The report is formatted using JSON so it can be easily integrated as a step in a larger analysis.

django-cleanup - Automatically deletes old file for FileField and ImageField

  •    Python

django-cleanup automatically deletes files for FileField, ImageField, and subclasses. It will delete old files when a new file is being saved and it will delete files on model instance deletion. Warning! If you use transactions you may lose files if a transaction will rollback at the right instance. Though this outcome is reduced by our use of post_save and post_delete signals, this outcome will still occur if there are errors in signals that are handled after our signals are handled. In this case, the old file will be lost and the new file will not be referenced in a model, though the new file will likely still exist on disk. If you are concerned about this behavior you will need another solution for old file deletion in your project. This is fixed in Django 1.9+ if you are using a database that supports transactions.

deadsimple-less-watch-compiler - A nodejs script that allows you to watch a folder for changes and compile the less css files into another folder
