predis-async - Asynchronous PHP client library for Redis built on top of ReactPHP

Asynchronous (non-blocking) version of Predis, the full-featured PHP client library for Redis, built on top of React to handle evented I/O. By default Predis\Async does not require any additional C extension to work, but it can be optionally paired with phpiredis to sensibly lower the overhead of serializing and parsing the Redis protocol.Predis\Async is currently under development but already works pretty well. The client foundation is being built on top of the event loop abstraction offered by React, an event-oriented framework for PHP that aims to provide everything needed to create reusable libraries and long-running applications using an evented approach powered by non-blocking I/O. This library is partially tested on HHVM, but support for this runtime should be considered experimental.

zsh-async - Because your terminal should be able to perform tasks asynchronously without external tools!

With zsh-async you can run multiple asynchronous jobs, enforce unique jobs (multiple instances of the same job will not run), flush all currently running jobs and create multiple workers (each with their own jobs). For each worker you can register a callback-function through which you will be notified about the job results (job name, return code, output and execution time). zsh-async is a small library for running asynchronous tasks in zsh without requiring any external tools. It utilizes zsh/zpty to launch a pseudo-terminal in which all commands get executed without blocking any other processes. Checking for completed tasks can be done manually, by polling, or better yet, automatically whenever a process has finished executing by notifying through a SIGWINCH kill-signal.

I have never used rust for asynchronous IO programming earlier, so I almost know nothing about it. The iterator interface (introduced in ECMAScript 2015) is a sequential data access protocol which enables the development of generic and composable data consumers and transformers. Their primary interface is a next() method which returns a { value, done } tuple, where done is a boolean indicating whether the end of the iterator has been reached, and value is the yielded value in the sequence. Since both the next value in the sequence and the "done" state of the data source must be known at the time that the iterator method returns, iterators are only suitable for representing synchronous data sources. While many data sources encountered by the JavaScript programmer are synchronous (such as in-memory lists and other data structures), many others are not. For instance, any data source which requires I/O access will be typically represented using an event-based or streaming asynchronous API. Unfortunately, iterators cannot be used to represent such data sources.
