node-seq - Chainable asynchronous flow control for node

  •    Javascript

Seq is an asynchronous flow control library with a chainable interface for sequential and parallel actions. Even the error handling is chainable. Each action in the chain operates on a stack of values. There is also a variables hash for storing values by name.

ea-async - EA Async implements async-await methods in the JVM.

  •    Java

EA Async implements async-await methods in the JVM. It allows programmers to write asynchronous code in a sequential fashion.

AwaitKit - The ES8 Async/Await control flow for Swift

  •    Swift

AwaitKit is a powerful Swift library inspired by the Async/Await specification in ES8 (ECMAScript 2017) which provides a powerful way to write asynchronous code in a sequential manner. Internally it uses PromiseKit to create and manage promises.

Zio - A type-safe, composable library for async and concurrent programming in Scala

  •    Scala

ZIO is a zero-dependency Scala library for asynchronous and concurrent programming. It is powered by highly-scalable, non-blocking fibers that never waste or leak resources, ZIO lets you build scalable, resilient, and reactive applications that meet the needs of your business.

Async Task Framework

  •    DotNet

The Async Tasks framework provides a light weight easy to use asynchronous framework, which allows for asynchronous execution of tasks and provides notification of different events throughout the life-cycle of the task. The framework is developed in C# and .NET 4.

predis-async - Asynchronous PHP client library for Redis built on top of ReactPHP

  •    PHP

Asynchronous (non-blocking) version of Predis, the full-featured PHP client library for Redis, built on top of React to handle evented I/O. By default Predis\Async does not require any additional C extension to work, but it can be optionally paired with phpiredis to sensibly lower the overhead of serializing and parsing the Redis protocol.Predis\Async is currently under development but already works pretty well. The client foundation is being built on top of the event loop abstraction offered by React, an event-oriented framework for PHP that aims to provide everything needed to create reusable libraries and long-running applications using an evented approach powered by non-blocking I/O. This library is partially tested on HHVM, but support for this runtime should be considered experimental.

zsh-async - Because your terminal should be able to perform tasks asynchronously without external tools!

  •    Shell

With zsh-async you can run multiple asynchronous jobs, enforce unique jobs (multiple instances of the same job will not run), flush all currently running jobs and create multiple workers (each with their own jobs). For each worker you can register a callback-function through which you will be notified about the job results (job name, return code, output and execution time). zsh-async is a small library for running asynchronous tasks in zsh without requiring any external tools. It utilizes zsh/zpty to launch a pseudo-terminal in which all commands get executed without blocking any other processes. Checking for completed tasks can be done manually, by polling, or better yet, automatically whenever a process has finished executing by notifying through a SIGWINCH kill-signal.

async-io-demo - demo for rust asynchronous io: from mio to stackless coroutine

  •    Rust

2019 is approaching. The rust team keeps their promise about asynchronous IO: async is introduced as keywords, Pin, Future, Poll and await! is introduced into standard library. I have never used rust for asynchronous IO programming earlier, so I almost know nothing about it. However, I would use it for a project recently but couldn't find many documents that are remarkably helpful for newbie of rust asynchronous programming.

runtime - Empowering everyone to build asynchronous software

  •    Rust

Runtime is what we imagine async APIs could look like if they were part of stdlib. We want async Rust to be an experience that mirrors the quality of the standard lib. We believe that in order for Rust to succeed it's not only important to make async Rust possible, it's crucial to make async Rust feel seamless. And the embodiment of these values is Runtime: a library crafted to empower everyone to build asynchronous software.

loadjs - A tiny async loader / dependency manager for modern browsers (789 bytes)

  •    Javascript

LoadJS is a tiny async loader for modern browsers (789 bytes). LoadJS is a tiny async loading library for modern browsers (IE9+). It has a simple yet powerful dependency management system that lets you fetch JavaScript, CSS and image files in parallel and execute code after the dependencies have been met. The recommended way to use LoadJS is to include the minified source code of loadjs.js in your <html> (possibly in the <head> tag) and then use the loadjs global to manage JavaScript dependencies after pageload.

  •    PHP

A port of Twitter-async for Foursquare. This is a high performance wrapper for Foursquare's OAuth 2 API which provides parallel/asynchronous calls.

async - Easily run code asynchronously

  •    PHP

This library provides a small and easy wrapper around PHP's PCNTL extension. It allows running of different processes in parallel, with an easy-to-use API. When creating asynchronous processes, you'll get an instance of ParallelProcess returned. You can add the following event hooks on a process.

Smith Async .NET Memcached Client

  •    DotNet

Async .NET Memcached Client is a fully asynchronous implementation of a memcached client. The advantage of a fully asynchronous client is that you do not have threads wasted in waiting for i/o operations. The client is developed in c# 4.0. (Subject to change to 3.5 possible)

axax - Async Iterator Extensions for JavaScript e.g. map, reduce, filter, flatMap, etc.

  •    TypeScript

A library of async iterator extensions for JavaScript including map, reduce, filter, flatMap, pipe and more. Async iterators are a useful way to handle asynchronous streams. This library adds a number of utility methods similar to those found in lodash, underscore, Ramda or RxJs.

Nito Asynchronous Library

Nito.Async is a collection of classes to assist asynchronous programming in .NET, particularly the development and use of classes adhering to the event-based asynchronous pattern. Developed in C#.

proposal-async-iteration - Asynchronous iteration for JavaScript

  •    HTML

The iterator interface (introduced in ECMAScript 2015) is a sequential data access protocol which enables the development of generic and composable data consumers and transformers. Their primary interface is a next() method which returns a { value, done } tuple, where done is a boolean indicating whether the end of the iterator has been reached, and value is the yielded value in the sequence. Since both the next value in the sequence and the "done" state of the data source must be known at the time that the iterator method returns, iterators are only suitable for representing synchronous data sources. While many data sources encountered by the JavaScript programmer are synchronous (such as in-memory lists and other data structures), many others are not. For instance, any data source which requires I/O access will be typically represented using an event-based or streaming asynchronous API. Unfortunately, iterators cannot be used to represent such data sources.
