swarm - swarm docs

  •    Makefile

Swarm is a distributed storage platform and content distribution service, a native base layer service of the ethereum web 3 stack. The primary objective of Swarm is to provide a sufficiently decentralized and redundant store of Ethereum's public record, in particular to store and distribute Đapp code and data as well as block chain data. From an economic point of view, it allows participants to efficiently pool their storage and bandwidth resources in order to provide the aforementioned services to all participants. From the end user's perspective, Swarm is not that different from WWW, except that uploads are not to a specific server. The objective is to peer-to-peer storage and serving solution that is DDOS-resistant, zero-downtime, fault-tolerant and censorship-resistant as well as self-sustaining due to a built-in incentive system which uses peer to peer accounting and allows trading resources for payment. Swarm is designed to deeply integrate with the devp2p multiprotocol network layer of Ethereum as well as with the Ethereum blockchain for domain name resolution, service payments and content availability insurance.

  •    Javascript

The samples provided in AWS Health Tools can help you build automation and customized alerts in response to AWS Health events.AWS Health provides ongoing visibility into the state of your AWS resources, services, and accounts. The service gives you awareness and remediation guidance for resource performance or availability issues that may affect your applications that run on AWS. AWS Health provides relevant and timely information to help you manage events in progress, as well as be aware of and prepare for planned activities. The service delivers alerts and notifications triggered by changes in the health of AWS resources, so you get near-instant event visibility and guidance to help accelerate troubleshooting.

Service Repository - Service Directory for SOA Services

  •    Java

A distributed "no single point of failure" service directory of SOA services which allow clients to easily manage(find, use, publish, monitor, deploy) their services. By using it you increase the number of hot deployments, decrease server load on your services, increase availability of your service response times by using it's internal auto load balancing mechanism.

service-catalog - Consume services in Kubernetes using the Open Service Broker API

  •    Go

The service-catalog project is in incubation to bring integration with service brokers to the Kubernetes ecosystem via the Open Service Broker API.A service broker is an endpoint that manages a set of software offerings called services. The end-goal of the service-catalog project is to provide a way for Kubernetes users to consume services from brokers and easily configure their applications to use those services, without needing detailed knowledge about how those services are created or managed.

ecs-refarch-service-discovery - An EC2 Container Service Reference Architecture for providing Service Discovery to containers using CloudWatch Events, Lambda and Route 53 private hosted zones

  •    Go

Service discovery is a key component of most distributed systems and service-oriented architectures. With service discovery, services are automatically discovered as they get created and terminated on a given infrastructure. This reference architecture illustrates how service discovery can be built on AWS.Many AWS customers build service-oriented, distributed applications using services such as Amazon EC2 Container Service (Amazon ECS) or Amazon EC2. The distributed nature of this type of architecture requires a fair amount of integration and synchronization, and the answer to that problem is not trivial. Quite often, our customers build such a functionality themselves and this can be time-consuming. Or they use a third-party solution and this often comes with a financial cost.

service-principles - A guide to service principles at Yelp for our service oriented architecture

  •

As you start thinking about designing your service, talk with your teammates and other service experts before writing any code or even design documents. Think about the features you want to add in addition to how they fit in with any existing features, products, and services. Think about the most sensible way to organize the entire feature set. Sometimes adding new features warrants a reorganization of existing components. We want to avoid "append-only" service architecture where development only happens in the form of new services.

Repose - The REstful PrOxy Service Engine

  •    Java

REPOSE is an open-source RESTful HTTP proxy service that scales to the cloud. REPOSE provides the solution to common API processing tasks such as rate limiting, client authentication, versioning, and logging so that web service developers can focus on the unique features of their services.

nerve - A service registration daemon that performs health checks; companion to airbnb/synapse

  •    Ruby

We already use Synapse to discover remote services. However, those services needed boilerplate code to register themselves in Zookeeper. Nerve simplifies underlying services, enables code reuse, and allows us to create a more composable system. It does so by factoring out the boilerplate into it's own application, which independenly handles monitoring and reporting.Beyond those benefits, nerve also acts as a general watchdog on systems. The information it reports can be used to take action from a centralized automation center: action like scaling distributed systems up or down or alerting ops or engineering about downtime.
