Trendy - Menubar app to keep you in the loop of GitHub trends :octocat:

  •        8

Trendy is a GitHub Trending Repository viewer for trend-conscious people. Trendy watches the GitHub trends and notifies the update to you. The app can be integrated to menubar or used as isolated app. GitHub trending repositofy page is one of my favorite pages. However, GitHub provides no API for it and I had to access each language's trend pages and had to find new repositories among many popular repositories. Trendy was made to improve the experience.

githunt - Chrome Extension - Replace your new tab with trending Github repositories

  •    HTML

By default it is set to show the trending repositories from the current week plus the repositories belonging to every language shown. However, once you will apply some filter, it will remember your configuration and the next time you will open the new tab, you will be presented with the last filter that you applied. Github API has rate limit applied in their API and although the extension implements the caching in order to make sure that the rate limit may not be crossed, however I would recommend you to set the API token in the extension in order to increase the quota.

hall-of-fame - :trophy: Show some love to your contributors! A widget for your repo README

  •    Python

Hall-of-fame helps you show some love to your contributors. It automatically highlights your new, trending, and top contributors, and updates every hour. You can put this widget anywhere inside your README, e.g. to "Contributing" section. No maintenance is required. Every hour, Hall-of-fame looks into recent commits of your repo using GitHub API. It then selects three categories of contributors: new (those who made their first commit to your repo in the last 7 days), trending (those with most commits in the last 7 days), and top (those with most commits of all time). It then selects up to three new contributors, up to 4 trending contributors, and if total is less than 7, it fill up the remaining spots with top contributors.
