request - 🏊🏾 Simplified HTTP request client.

  •        37

Request is designed to be the simplest way possible to make http calls. It supports HTTPS and follows redirects by default.Request also offers convenience methods like request.defaults and, and there are lots of usage examples and several debugging techniques.

unirest-nodejs - Unirest in Node.js: Simplified, lightweight HTTP client library.

  •    Javascript

Unirest is a set of lightweight HTTP libraries available in multiple languages, built and maintained by Mashape, who also maintain the open-source API Gateway Kong. A request can be initiated by invoking the appropriate method on the unirest object, then calling .end() to send the request. Alternatively you can send the request directly by providing a callback along with the url.

got - Simplified HTTP requests

  •    Javascript

A nicer interface to the built-in http module.Created because request is bloated (several megabytes!).

CMD HTTP Request

  •    DotNet

A simple command line HTTP Request utility using the .NET Framework. Offers ability to look for a keyword (i.e. success) and provides the ability to save the request results to a html file.

goreq - Minimal and simple request library for Go language

  •    Go

Simple and sane HTTP request library for Go language.Go has very nice native libraries that allows you to do lots of cool things. But sometimes those libraries are too low level, which means that to do a simple thing, like an HTTP Request, it takes some time. And if you want to do something as simple as adding a timeout to a request, you will end up writing several lines of code.

YTKNetwork - YTKNetwork is a high level request util based on AFNetworking.

  •    Objective-C

YTKNetwork is a high level request util based on AFNetworking. It's developed by the iOS Team of YuanTiKu. It provides a High Level API for network request. YTKNetwork is used in all products of YuanTiKu, including: YuanTiKu, YuanSoTi, YuanFuDao, FenBiZhiBoKe.

request-promise - The simplified HTTP request client 'request' with Promise support

  •    Javascript

The simplified HTTP request client 'request' with Promise support. Powered by Bluebird.Request and Bluebird are pretty awesome, but I found myself using the same design pattern. Request-Promise adds a Bluebird-powered .then(...) method to Request call objects. By default, http response codes other than 2xx will cause the promise to be rejected. This can be overwritten by setting options.simple = false.

graphql.js - A Simple and Isomorphic GraphQL Client for JavaScript

  •    Javascript

GraphQL is based on a very simple HTTP transaction, which sends a request to an endpoint with query and variables. Many libraries require complex stacks to make that simple request. In any project you don't use React, Relay, you'll need a simpler client which manages your query and makes a simple request.

php-restclient - A generic REST API client for PHP

headers - An associative array of HTTP headers and values to be included in every request. parameters - An associative array of URL or body parameters to be included in every request. curl_options - cURL options to apply to every request; anything defined here: These will override any automatically generated values. build_indexed_queries (bool) - http_build_query automatically adds an array index to repeated parameters which is not desirable on most systems. Use this option to enable the default behavior. Defaults to FALSE. user_agent - User agent string to use in requests. base_url - URL to use for the base of each request. format - Format string is appended to resource on request (extension), and used to determine which decoder to use on response; a request URL like "" would be expected to return well-formed JSON. format_regex - Pattern to extract format from response Content-Type header, used to determine which decoder to use on response. decoders - Associative array of format decoders. See "Direct Iteration and Response Decoding". username - Username to use for HTTP basic authentication. Requires password. password - Password to use for HTTP basic authentication. Requires username. url (string) - URL of the resource you are requesting. Will be prepended with the value of the base_url option, if it has been configured. Will be appended with the value of the format option, if it has been configured.

wreck - HTTP Client Utilities

  •    Javascript

Use promise.req.abort() to terminate the request early. Note that this is limited to the initial request only. If the request was already redirected, aborting the original request will not abort execution of pending redirections.Returns a new instance of Wreck which merges the provided options with those provided on a per-request basis. You can call defaults repeatedly to build up multiple http clients.

oauthlib - A generic, spec-compliant, thorough implementation of the OAuth request-signing logic

  •    Python

OAuthLib is a generic utility which implements the logic of OAuth without assuming a specific HTTP request object or web framework. Use it to graft OAuth client support onto your favorite HTTP library, or provide support onto your favourite web framework. If you're a maintainer of such a library, write a thin veneer on top of OAuthLib and get OAuth support for very little effort. Then you might be more interested in using requests which has OAuthLib powered OAuth support provided by the requests-oauthlib library.

Werkzeug - The comprehensive WSGI web application library

  •    Python

Werkzeug started as a simple collection of various utilities for WSGI applications and has become one of the most advanced WSGI utility modules. It includes a powerful debugger, fully featured request and response objects, HTTP utilities to handle entity tags, cache control headers, HTTP dates, cookie handling, file uploads, a powerful URL routing system and a bunch of community contributed addon modules.

goji - Goji is a minimalistic and flexible HTTP request multiplexer for Go (golang)

  •    Go

Goji is a HTTP request multiplexer, similar to net/http.ServeMux. It compares incoming requests to a list of registered Patterns, and dispatches to the http.Handler that corresponds to the first matching Pattern. Goji also supports Middleware (composable shared functionality applied to every request) and uses the standard context package to store request-scoped values. Please refer to Goji's GoDoc Documentation for a full API reference.

nuster - A web caching proxy server based on HAProxy

  •    C

Nuster is a simple yet powerful web caching proxy server based on HAProxy. It is 100% compatible with HAProxy, and takes full advantage of the ACL functionality of HAProxy to provide fine-grained caching policy based on the content of request, response or server status. Nuster is very fast, some test shows nuster is almost three times faster than nginx when both using single core, and nearly two times faster than nginx and three times faster than varnish when using all cores.

request-promise-native - The simplified HTTP request client 'request' with Promise support

  •    Javascript

This package is similar to request-promise but uses native ES6 promises.request is defined as a peer-dependency and thus has to be installed separately.

  •    Java

The move towards Single Page Apps and RESTful services open the doors to a much better way of securing web applications. Traditional web applications use browser cookies to identify a user when a request is made to the server. This approach is fundamentally flawed and causes many applications to be vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks. When used correctly, RESTful services can avoid this vulnerability altogether. Before we go into the solution, lets recap the problem. HTTP is a stateless protocol. Make a request and get a response. Make another request and get another response. There is no correlation (i.e. "state") between these requests. This poses a problem when you need to identify a user to the system because one request logs the user in and another request needs to tell the server who is making the request.

r2 - HTTP client. Spiritual successor to request.

  •    Javascript

Early in Node.js I wrote an HTTP client library called request. It evolved along with Node.js and eventually became very widely depended upon. A lot has changed since 2010 and I've decided to re-think what a simple HTTP client library should look like.
