In short: Apple has a thing that lets you show what's on your iPhone or iPad or Mac on your Apple TV. This lets you see it on your Linux or Mac computer or media center too, maybe. AirPlay Mirroring uses a funky mish-mash of standards wrapped in some DRM. Slave in the Magic Mirror packs the audio and video data into a standard media container and hands it to VLC. The DRM is handled by calling into the original Apple TV server binary using a pure-python ARM interpreter.

For a while I've been maintaining a mirror of my dotfiles here on GitHub. Unfortunately at some point, something shat the bed inside the giant Rube Goldberg machine of hg-git and GitHub. My life is too short to deal with this bullshit, so I'm not maintaining this mirror any more. You can still go look at them on BitBucket.

This is an attempt to recreate the behaviour of the Mirror API (based on the official documentation) to allow developers like me who can't be part of the Glass Explorer program, to test potential applications that could be feasible using Glass. See this document for a detailed description of what this does and how it works.
