Most of i3lock script out there converts your defined image to add blur, glitch or dim effect to image and it feels so slow and btw who needs dynamic lock background, its not like I change lockscreen background every 5 minutes. i3lock is a simple screen locker like slock. After starting it, you will see a white screen (you can configure the color/an image). You can return to your screen by entering your password. You can specify either a background color or a PNG image which will be displayed while your screen is locked.
To use this script you can set a hotkey in your window manager to run the lock command, set xautolock to run at boot, or use a systemd script to either lock on suspend or run xautolock. xautolock is a utility to automatically lock the screen after a set time. It also supports hot corners.

PIXterm shows images directly in your terminal, recreating the pixels through a combination of ANSI character background color and the unicode lower half block element. If image has transparency, an optional matte color can be used for background. Also, you can specify a dithering mode; in which case, the image is rendered using block elements with different shades, or using standard ASCII characters in the same way. In dithering mode, the matte color is used to fill the background of the blocks or characters. The conversion process runs fast because it is parallelized in all CPUs.
A simple jQuery plugin to extract the dominant color of an image and apply it to the background of its parent element. Instead of using an <img> element nested inside of parent element, AB supports grabbing the dominant color of a background image of a standalone element, then applying the corresponding dominant color as the background color of said element.
An improved Python library to control i3wm. i3's interprocess communication (or ipc) is the interface i3wm uses to receive commands from client applications such as i3-msg. It also features a publish/subscribe mechanism for notifying interested parties of window manager events.
Extract colors from an image like a human would do.By default any pixel with alpha value greater than zero will be discarded. This is because transparent colors are not perceived as is. For example fully transparent black would be seen white on a white background. So if you want to take transparency into account when building a palette you have to specify this background color. You can do this with the second argument of Palette constructors. Its default value is null, meaning a color won't be added to the palette if its alpha component exists and is greater than zero.
Generate beautiful tiling SVG patterns from a string. The string is converted into a SHA and a color and pattern are determined based on the values in the hash. The color is determined by shifting the hue and saturation from a default (or passed in) base color. One of 16 patterns is used (or you can specify one) and the sizing of the pattern elements is also determined by the hash values. You can use the generated pattern as the background-image for a container. Using the base64 representation of the pattern still results in SVG rendering, so it looks great on retina displays.
Better i-beam (text cursor) for Xcode for dark background / light text color themes. The file that controls the i-beam cursor is no longer a flat .tiff file, but rather part of an assets bundle called Assets.car. Please see issue #16's thread for a manual workaround. Thanks go out to @cjheng, @allen-zeng, @sokobania, and @ebaker355 for helping find and solve the issue. I'm looking forward to getting this working in an automated way in the future.
A Sketch plugin that calculates the color contrast of two layers and evaluates it against the WCAG. If only a single layer is selected, than it will calculate with its artboard background color. The test may pass AAA, AA or fail because of a lack of contrast. And even when you do not need to meet those requirements, you can get a feeling for the contrast when you get used to the values. This might help you design accessible content. Color contrast of 7.0:1 or 4.5:1 for large text.
