tolkien - Passwords are obsolete - Send one time tokens for authentication instead.

  •        13

Passwords are obsolete. If you haven't read this blog post yet, it should be the first thing you do today. It's the concept which made this module a reality. `tolkien implements one time token authorization which renders passwords obsolete. Instead of signing in to a service using a username and password you sign in using a token that get's send to you using (email, sms, whatever) and once click the link/use the token you're authenticated. That's it.

huge - Simple user-authentication solution, embedded into a small framework.

  •    PHP

Just a simple user authentication solution inside a super-simple framework skeleton that works out-of-the-box (and comes with an auto-installer), using the future-proof official bcrypt password hashing/salting implementation of PHP 5.5+, plus some nice features that will speed up the time from idea to first usable prototype application dramatically. Nothing more. This project has its focus on hardcore simplicity. Everything is as simple as possible, made for smaller projects, typical agency work and quick drafts. If you want to build massive corporate applications with all the features modern frameworks have, then have a look at Laravel, Symfony or Yii, but if you just want to quickly create something that just works, then this script might be interesting for you. HUGE's simple-as-possible architecture was inspired by several conference talks, slides and articles about huge applications that - surprisingly and intentionally - go back to the basics of programming, using procedural programming, static classes, extremely simple constructs, not-totally-DRY code etc. while keeping the code extremely readable (StackOverflow, Wikipedia, SoundCloud).

Cierge - 🗝️ Passwordless OIDC authentication done right

  •    CSharp

Cierge is an OpenID Connect server that handles user signup, login, profiles, management, social logins, and more. Instead of storing passwords, Cirege uses magic links/codes and external logins to authenticate your users. Passwords are insecure by default. Cierge does away by the illusion of security passwords give ("forgot password" usually relies upon email-based auth at the end of the day).

node.bcrypt.js - bcrypt for NodeJs

  •    C++

First, make sure that the version of node you are using is a stable version. You'll know this because it'll have an even major release number. We do not currently support unstable versions and while the module may happen to work on some unstable versions you'll find that we quickly close issues if you're not using a stable version. If you are on a stable version of node, we can't magically know what you are doing to expose an issue, it is best if you provide a snippet of code or log files if you're having an install issue. This snippet need not include your secret sauce, but it must replicate the issue you are describing. The issues that get closed without resolution tend to be the ones that don't help us help you. Thanks.

react-check-auth - Add auth protection anywhere in your react/react-native app

  •    Javascript

react-check-auth is a tiny react component that helps you make auth checks declarative in your react or react-native app. This component uses React 16's new context API and is just ~100 LOC. It can also serve as a boilerplate for getting familiar with using the context API to pass information from a parent component to arbitrarily deep child components.

mosquitto-auth-plug - Authentication plugin for Mosquitto with multiple back-ends (MySQL, Redis, CDB, SQLite3)

  •    C

This plugin can perform authentication (check username / password) and authorization (ACL). Currently not all back-ends have the same capabilities (the the section on the back-end you're interested in). Multiple back-ends can be configured simultaneously for authentication, and they're attempted in the order you specify. Once a user has been authenticated, the same back-end is used to check authorization (ACLs). Superusers are checked for in all back-ends. The configuration option is called auth_opt_backends and it takes a comma-separated list of back-end names which are checked in exactly that order.

django-two-factor-auth - Complete Two-Factor Authentication for Django providing the easiest integration into most Django projects

  •    Python

Complete Two-Factor Authentication for Django. Built on top of the one-time password framework django-otp and Django's built-in authentication framework django.contrib.auth for providing the easiest integration into most Django projects. Inspired by the user experience of Google's Two-Step Authentication, allowing users to authenticate through call, text messages (SMS), by using a token generator app like Google Authenticator or a YubiKey hardware token generator (optional). I would love to hear your feedback on this package. If you run into problems, please file an issue on GitHub, or contribute to the project by forking the repository and sending some pull requests. The package is translated into English, Dutch and other languages. Please contribute your own language using Transifex.

authboss - The boss of http auth.

  •    Go

Authboss is a modular authentication system for the web. It tries to remove as much boilerplate and "hard things" as possible so that each time you start a new web project in Go, you can plug it in, configure, and start building your app without having to build an authentication system each time. This reduces the potential for mistakes since authentication is not exactly trivial and should hopefully be generic enough to be plugged into all sorts of different web applications. Each module can be turned on simply by importing it and the side-effects take care of the rest. Not all the capabilities of authboss are represented by a module, see use cases to view the supported use cases as well as how to use them in your app.

meal-prep - Source code for a 4-part series I wrote about Vue, Vue Router, Vuex and Vuetify

  •    Vue

This is the source code for a four-part series I wrote on creating a Vue.js application that also uses Vue-Router, Vuetify and Vuex. The articles take you through creating a Vue application and then adding on to it until you have created a fully functional meal delivery website. As I mentioned this source code is the final code created as part of four articles I wrote on creating a Vue.js application using Vue-Router, Vuex, Vuetify and Firebase. Here are links to each version of the articles: Part 1 - Covers creating the application and adding Vuetify for styling. Part 2 - Covers using Vue Router to add navigating between pages in the application. Part 3 - Covers adding Vuex for state management. Also we connect to a Recipes API to get content for our application. Part 4 - Covers using Firebase for Authentication. Users can create an account and order recipes. When they login to their account they will see their orders.
