mockk - mocking library for Kotlin

  •        43

We are actively looking for contributors and co-authors. There are two ambitious goals, that look unachievable at first sight, but in my opinion is essential to win Kotlin competition and require just hard and inventive work. They are - support for Kotlin/JS and Kotlin/Native platforms. If you think you can accept one of this two challenges and join us please contact me. All you need to get started is just to add a dependency to MockK library.

OCMockito - Mockito for Objective-C: creation, verification and stubbing of mock objects

  •    Objective-C

OCMockito is an iOS and Mac OS X implementation of Mockito, supporting creation, verification and stubbing of mock objects. Mock objects are always "nice," recording their calls instead of throwing exceptions about unspecified invocations. This makes tests less fragile.

Mockito - Most popular Mocking framework for unit tests written in Java

  •    Java

Mockito is a mocking framework that tastes really good. It lets you write beautiful tests with a clean & simple API. Mockito doesn’t give you hangover because the tests are very readable and they produce clean verification errors.

Cuckoo - Boilerplate-free mocking framework for Swift!

  •    Swift

Cuckoo was created due to lack of a proper Swift mocking framework. We built the DSL to be very similar to Mockito, so anyone using it in Java/Android can immediately pick it up and use it. Cuckoo has two parts. One is the runtime and the other one is an OS X command-line tool simply called CuckooGenerator.

Mock Service Worker - Seamless REST/GraphQL API mocking library for browser and Node

  •    Javascript

Mock by intercepting requests on the network level. Seamlessly reuse the same mock definition for testing, development, and debugging. Browser usage is what sets Mock Service Worker apart from other tools. Utilizing the Service Worker API that intercepts requests for the purpose of caching, Mock Service Worker responds to captured requests with your mock definition on the network level. This way your application knows nothing about the mocking.

specta - A light-weight TDD / BDD framework for Objective-C & Cocoa

  •    Objective-C

A light-weight TDD / BDD framework for Objective-C. Standard XCTest matchers such as XCTAssertEqualObjects and XCTAssertNil work, but you probably want to add a nicer matcher framework - Expecta to your setup. Or if you really prefer, OCHamcrest works fine too. Also, add a mocking framework: OCMock.

mockolo - Efficient Mock Generator for Swift

  •    Swift

Mockolo is an efficient mock generator for Swift. Swift doesn't provide mocking support, and Mockolo provides a fast and easy way to autogenerate mock objects that can be tested in your code. One of the main objectives of Mockolo is fast performance. Unlike other frameworks, Mockolo provides highly performant and scalable generation of mocks via a lightweight commandline tool, so it can run as part of a linter or a build if one chooses to do so. Try Mockolo and enhance your project's test coverage in an effective, performant way. One of the main objectives of this project is high performance. There aren't many 3rd party tools that perform fast on a large codebase containing, for example, over 2M LoC or over 10K protocols. They take several hours and even with caching enabled take several minutes. Mockolo was built to make highly performant generation of mocks possible (in the magnitude of seconds) on such large codebase. It uses a minimal set of frameworks necessary (mentioned in the Used libraries section) to keep the code lean and efficient.

Kakapo.js - :bird: Next generation mocking framework in Javascript

  •    Javascript

Kakapo its a full featured http mocking library, he allows you to entirely replicate your backend logic in simple and declaritive way directly in the browser. This way you can easily prototype and develop the whole Application without backend and just deactivate Kakapo when you go production. In order to achieve that Kakapo gives you a set of utilities like Routing, Database, Response, Request and so on... Use the kakapo router to declare two custom routes and returning custom data.

kotlintest - Powerful, elegant and flexible Kotlin test framework

  •    Kotlin

KotlinTest comes with several testing styles so you can choose one that fits your needs. Matchers are extension methods and so your IDE will auto complete. See the full list of matchers or write your own.

expecta - A Matcher Framework for Objective-C/Cocoa

  •    Objective-C

A matcher framework for Objective-C and Cocoa. The main advantage of using Expecta over other matcher frameworks is that you do not have to specify the data types. Also, the syntax of Expecta matchers is much more readable and does not suffer from parenthesitis.

mockery - Mockery is a simple yet flexible PHP mock object framework for use in unit testing with PHPUnit, PHPSpec or any other testing framework

  •    PHP

Mockery is a simple yet flexible PHP mock object framework for use in unit testing with PHPUnit, PHPSpec or any other testing framework. Its core goal is to offer a test double framework with a succinct API capable of clearly defining all possible object operations and interactions using a human readable Domain Specific Language (DSL). Designed as a drop in alternative to PHPUnit's phpunit-mock-objects library, Mockery is easy to integrate with PHPUnit and can operate alongside phpunit-mock-objects without the World ending. Mockery is released under a New BSD License.

Wiremock - A tool for mocking HTTP services

  •    Java

WireMock is a simulator for HTTP-based APIs. Some might consider it a service virtualization tool or a mock server. It enables you to stay productive when an API you depend on doesn't exist or isn't complete. It supports testing of edge cases and failure modes that the real API won't reliably produce. And because it's fast it can reduce your build time from hours down to minutes.

Pester - Pester is the ubiquitous test and mock framework for PowerShell.

  •    PowerShell

Pester is the ubiquitous test and mock framework for PowerShell. This code example lies a tiny bit, find it annotated and production ready here.

mock-socket - Javascript mocking library for websockets and socket.io

  •    Javascript

To use within a node environment you can simply import or require the files directly. This option is great for phantomjs or CI environments. This project uses mocha as its test framework. Tests are located in /test and have 1 of 3 file name prefixes (functional-, issue-#, or unit-).

Dynamic Mocking Framework

  •

This framework is my first open-source project. With this framework you can mock any public properties and methods (virtual and non-virtual). Based on DynamicObject features of Microsoft Net Framework 4. Programming language: C#

AxUnit

  •

AxUnit is a Unit Testing framework for Microsoft Dynamics Ax (X++). It features a new assertion syntax with matchers and a complete mock object framework. Example: assert.that(actual, is.equalTo(expected));

moq4 - Repo for managing Moq 4.x

  •    CSharp

You can think of Linq to Mocks as "from the universe of mocks, give me one whose behavior matches this expression".Moq (pronounced "Mock-you" or just "Mock") is the only mocking library for .NET developed from scratch to take full advantage of .NET Linq expression trees and lambda expressions, which makes it the most productive, type-safe and refactoring-friendly mocking library available. And it supports mocking interfaces as well as classes. Its API is extremely simple and straightforward, and doesn't require any prior knowledge or experience with mocking concepts.

mountebank - Over the wire test doubles

  •    HTML

In fact, halfway through we discovered our corporate mocking software couldn’t handle the sheer amount of performance testing we were running as part of this effort (we completely crushed some pretty industrial enterprise software in the process). As a result, we made the call to move the entire program over to a Mountebank OSS-based solution with a custom provision to give us the ability to expand/shrink our mocking needs on demand. mountebank is the first open source tool to provide cross-platform, multi-protocol test doubles over the wire. Just point your application to mountebank instead of the real dependency, and test like you would with traditional stubs and mocks.

mock - GoMock is a mocking framework for the Go programming language.

  •    Go

GoMock is a mocking framework for the Go programming language. It integrates well with Go's built-in testing package, but can be used in other contexts too.Alternatively, there is an online reference for the package hosted on GoPkgDoc here.

kotlin-argparser - Easy to use and concise yet powerful and robust command line argument parsing for Kotlin

  •    Kotlin

This is a library for parsing command-line arguments. It can parse both options and positional arguments. It aims to be easy to use and concise yet powerful and robust. An instance of MyArgs will represent the set of parsed arguments. Each option and positional argument is declared as a property that delegates through a delegate factory method on an instance of ArgParser.

jest-dom - :owl: Custom jest matchers to test the state of the DOM

  •    Javascript

You want to use jest to write tests that assert various things about the state of a DOM. As part of that goal, you want to avoid all the repetitive patterns that arise in doing so. Checking for an element's attributes, its text content, its css classes, you name it. The @testing-library/jest-dom library provides a set of custom jest matchers that you can use to extend jest. These will make your tests more declarative, clear to read and to maintain.
