laika - Simple Python GNSS processing library

  •    Python

Laika is an open-source GNSS processing library. Laika is similar to projects like RTKlib and GPSTK, but in Python and with a strong focus on readability, usability and easy integration with other optimizers. Laika can process raw GNSS observations with data gathered online from various analysis groups to produce data ready for position/velocity estimation. Laika is designed to produce accurate results whilst still being readable and easy to use. Laika is the perfect tool to develop accurate GNSS-only or GNSS-fusion localisation algorithms. GNSS satellites orbit the earth broadcasting signals that allow the receiver to determine the distance to each satellite. These satellites have known orbits and so their positions are known. This makes determining the receiver's position a basic 3-dimensional trilateration problem. In practice observed distances to each satellite will be measured with some offset that is caused by the receiver's clock error. This offset also needs to be determined, making it a 4-dimensional trilateration problem.

ros-bridge - ROS bridge for CARLA Simulator

  •    Python

This ROS package is a bridge that enables two-way communication between ROS and CARLA. The information from the CARLA server is translated to ROS topics. orb_slam_2_ros - A ROS implementation of ORB_SLAM2

  •    C++

ORB-SLAM2 Authors: Raul Mur-Artal, Juan D. Tardos, J. M. M. Montiel and Dorian Galvez-Lopez (DBoW2). The original implementation can be found here. This is the ROS implementation of the ORB-SLAM2 real-time SLAM library for Monocular, Stereo and RGB-D cameras that computes the camera trajectory and a sparse 3D reconstruction (in the stereo and RGB-D case with true scale). It is able to detect loops and relocalize the camera in real time. This implementation removes the Pangolin dependency, and the original viewer. All data I/O is handled via ROS topics. For visualization you can use RViz. This repository is maintained by Lennart Haller on behalf of appliedAI.

  •    C++

CARMASM advances research and development to accelerate market readiness and deployment of cooperative driving automation, while advancing automated driving technology safety, security, data, and artificial intelligence. It encourages collaboration and participation by a community of engineers and researchers to advance understanding of cooperative driving automation using open source software (OSS) and agile project management practices. CARMA is a reusable, extensible platform for controlling SAE level 2 connected, automated vehicles (AVs). It provides a rich, generic API for third party plugins that implement vehicle guidance algorithms to plan vehicle trajectories. jupyter-ros - Jupyter widget helpers for ROS, the Robot Operating System

  •    Python

While the Jupyter ecosystem has been widely adopted by the Data Science and Machine Learning community, the robotics community has not jumped on the band wagon yet! Most tools around ROS, the Robot Operating System, are built using Python and QT. However, using QT seperates the user away from the code. We've built an initial version of the ROS tools for jupyter notebook, trying to promote a rich, interactive experience for Robotics developers utilizing the power of the jupyter notebook.

lidar_camera_calibration - ROS package to find a rigid-body transformation between a LiDAR and a camera for "LiDAR-Camera Calibration using 3D-3D Point correspondences"

  •    C++

The package is used to calibrate a LiDAR (config to support Hesai and Velodyne hardware) with a camera (works for both monocular and stereo). The package finds a rotation and translation that transform all the points in the LiDAR frame to the (monocular) camera frame. Please see Usage for a video tutorial. The lidar_camera_calibration/pointcloud_fusion provides a script to fuse point clouds obtained from two stereo cameras. Both of which were extrinsically calibrated using a LiDAR and lidar_camera_calibration. We show the accuracy of the proposed pipeline by fusing point clouds, with near perfection, from multiple cameras kept in various positions. See Fusion using lidar_camera_calibration for results of the point cloud fusion (videos).

  •    C++

mcl_3dl is a ROS node to perform a probabilistic 3-D/6-DOF localization system for mobile robots with 3-D LIDAR(s). It implements pointcloud based Monte Carlo localization that uses a reference pointcloud as a map. The node receives the reference pointcloud as an environment map and localizes 6-DOF (x, y, z, yaw, pitch, roll) pose of measured pointclouds assisted by a motion prediction using odometry.

spatio_temporal_voxel_layer - A new voxel layer leveraging modern 3D graphics tools to modernize navigation environmental representations

  •    C++

This is a drop in replacement for the voxel_grid voxel representation of the environment. This package does a number of things to improve on the voxel grid package and extend the capabilities offered to the users, under a LGPL v2.1 license. Developed and maintained by Steven Macenski at Simbe Robotics. Leveraging OpenVDB, we have the ability to efficiently maintain a 3 dimensional voxel-representative world space. We wrap this with ROS tools and interfaces to the navigation stack to allow for use of this layer in standard ROS configurations. It is certainly possible to utilize this package without ROS/Navigation and I invite other competing methodologies to develop here and create interfaces.
