echo - Lazy-loading images with data-* attributes

  •    Javascript

Echo is a standalone JavaScript lazy-loading image micro-library. Echo is fast, 2KB, and uses HTML5 data-* attributes for simple. Check out a demo. Echo works in IE8+.Using Echo.js is simple, to add an image directly into the page simply add a data-echo attribute to the img tag. Alternatively if you want to use Echo to lazy load background images simply add a `data-echo-background' attribute to the element with the image URL.

pippo - Micro Java Web Framework

  •    Java

The goal of this project is to create a micro web framework in Java that should be easy to use and hack. Pippo can be used in small and medium applications and also in applications based on micro services architecture. Also, Pippo comes with a very small footprint that makes it excellent for embedded devices (Raspberry Pi for example).

websocket-shootout - a comparison of websocket servers in multiple languages and frameworks

  •    Javascript

This project is designed to compare websocket servers in multiple languages and frameworks and has a companion blog post. The servers all implement an extremely simple protocol with only two messages: echo and broadcast. An echo is returned to the sending client. A broadcast is sent to all connected clients. Both messages take a payload value that should be delivered to the appropriate destination. For the platforms with low level websocket implementations the above message would work directly. For platforms with higher level abstractions such as Phoenix and Rails the message must be encoded to be compatible with their message standards.

echo-sonos - Amazon Echo integration with Sonos

Check out some of the code and send in a pull request! Glad to help out. The repository includes two components: a web scraper to get commands from Amazon Echo history (watir-login.rb) and a Sinatra server that takes those commands and, using various modules, triggers certain actions.

In many modern web applications, WebSockets are used to implement realtime, live-updating user interfaces. When some data is updated on the server, a message is typically sent over a WebSocket connection to be handled by the client. This provides a more robust, efficient alternative to continually polling your application for changes. To assist you in building these types of applications, Laravel makes it easy to "broadcast" your events over a WebSocket connection. Broadcasting your Laravel events allows you to share the same event names between your server-side code and your client-side JavaScript application.
