Some might consider it a service virtualization tool or a mock server. It enables you to stay productive when an API you depend on doesn't exist or isn't complete. It supports testing of edge cases and failure modes that the real API won't reliably produce. And because it's fast it can reduce your build time from hours down to minutes.

Users can test APIs without writing code, but they can also tap into code when they want to. It reads API test specification from YAML files and runs them in serial/parallel mode. Test reports can be generated in several formats including HTML and JSON. To run just-api, you will need Node.js v7.10.0 or newer.

Seamlessly reuse the same mock definition for testing, development, and debugging. Browser usage is what sets Mock Service Worker apart from other tools. Utilizing the Service Worker API that intercepts requests for the purpose of caching, Mock Service Worker responds to captured requests with your mock definition on the network level. This way your application knows nothing about the mocking.

Its core goal is to offer a test double framework with a succinct API capable of clearly defining all possible object operations and interactions using a human readable Domain Specific Language (DSL). Designed as a drop in alternative to PHPUnit's phpunit-mock-objects library, Mockery is easy to integrate with PHPUnit and can operate alongside phpunit-mock-objects without the World ending. Mockery is released under a New BSD License.

You will notice that the travis build for python 3 might be broken, and while pull requests fixing py3 support are most welcome, it is still not official at least for now. Since you are interested in HTTPretty you should also be interested in speeding up your build. Replace pip with curdling and see your build running a lot faster.

It is a lightweight web-server that converts HTTP requests to JSON events and maintains functional parity with the Lambda Runtime API in the cloud. It allows you to locally test your functions using familiar tools such as cURL and the Docker CLI (when testing functions packaged as container images). It also simplifies running your application on additional computes. You can include the Lambda Runtime Interface Emulator in your container image to have it accept HTTP requests instead of the JSON events required for deployment to Lambda. This component does not emulate Lambda’s orchestrator, or security and authentication configurations. You can get started by downloading and installing it on your local machine. When the Lambda Runtime API emulator is executed, a /2015-03-31/functions/function/invocations endpoint will be stood up within the container that you post data to it in order to invoke your function for testing. There are a few ways you use the Runtime Interface Emulator (RIE) to locally test your function depending on the base image used.
