Pcx - Point cloud importer & renderer for Unity

  •        164

Pcx is a custom importer and renderer that allows handling point cloud data in Unity. Pcx uses the 32-bit vertex index format that is newly introduced in Unity 2017.3, so it's not compatible with the previous versions of Unity.

draco - Draco is a library for compressing and decompressing 3D geometric meshes and point clouds

  •    C++

Draco is a library for compressing and decompressing 3D geometric meshes and point clouds. It is intended to improve the storage and transmission of 3D graphics.Draco was designed and built for compression efficiency and speed. The code supports compressing points, connectivity information, texture coordinates, color information, normals, and any other generic attributes associated with geometry. With Draco, applications using 3D graphics can be significantly smaller without compromising visual fidelity. For users, this means apps can now be downloaded faster, 3D graphics in the browser can load quicker, and VR and AR scenes can now be transmitted with a fraction of the bandwidth and rendered quickly.

DiligentEngine - Master repository for Diligent Engine project

  •    C++

Diligent Engine is a lightweight cross-platform abstraction layer between the application and the platform-specific graphics API designed to take advantages of next-generation APIs such as Direct3D12 and Vulkan, while providing support for older platforms via Direct3D11, OpenGL and OpenGLES. Diligent Engine exposes common front-end for all supported platforms and provides interoperability with underlying native API. Shader source code converter allows HLSL shaders to be used on all supported platforms and rendering backends. The engine is intended to be used as a graphics subsystem in a game engine or any other 3D application, and supports integration with Unity. Diligent Engine is distributed under Apache 2.0 license and is free to use. Alternatively, you can get master repository fisrt, and then individually clone all submodules into the engine's root folder.

Retro3D - A shader that imitates low grade 3D graphics.

  •    CSharp

Retro 3D is a shader that provides low grade 3D graphics, which resembles the first generation of 3D consoles like PlayStation and Sega Saturn. Basically, it's a kind of unlit shader, but also reduces the precision of geometric operations, and cancels the perspective correction for texture mapping. You can use the shader for whatever you want.

3dmatch-toolbox - 3DMatch - a 3D ConvNet-based local geometric descriptor for aligning 3D meshes and point clouds

  •    C++

Matching local geometric features on real-world depth images is a challenging task due to the noisy, low-resolution, and incomplete nature of 3D scan data. These difficulties limit the performance of current state-of-art methods, which are typically based on histograms over geometric properties. In this paper, we present 3DMatch, a data-driven model that learns a local volumetric patch descriptor for establishing correspondences between partial 3D data. To amass training data for our model, we propose an unsupervised feature learning method that leverages the millions of correspondence labels found in existing RGB-D reconstructions. Experiments show that our descriptor is not only able to match local geometry in new scenes for reconstruction, but also generalize to different tasks and spatial scales (e.g. instance-level object model alignment for the Amazon Picking Challenge, and mesh surface correspondence). Results show that 3DMatch consistently outperforms other state-of-the-art approaches by a significant margin. This code is released under the Simplified BSD License (refer to the LICENSE file for details).

vtk-js - Visualization Toolkit for the Web

  •    Javascript

VTK is an open-source software system for image processing, 3D graphics, volume rendering and visualization. VTK includes many advanced algorithms (e.g., surface reconstruction, implicit modelling, decimation) and rendering techniques (e.g., hardware-accelerated volume rendering, LOD control). The JavaScript implementation remain a subset of the actual C++ library but efforts will be made to easily port or compile native VTK code into WebAssembly to better blend both world. The origin of VTK is with the textbook "The Visualization Toolkit, an Object-Oriented Approach to 3D Graphics" originally published by Prentice Hall and now published by Kitware, Inc. (Third Edition ISBN 1-930934-07-6). VTK has grown (since its initial release in 1994) to a world-wide user base in the commercial, academic, and research communities.

The Scriptable Render Pipeline (SRP) is a new Unity feature in active development. SRP has been designed to give artists and developers the tools they need to create modern, high-fidelity graphics in Unity. Including a built-in Lightweight Render Pipeline for use on all platforms, and a High Definition Render Pipeline (HDRP) for use on compute shader compatible platforms. We hope to release both of these versions in beta with Unity version 2018.1. ShaderGraph - Unity ShaderGraph project

  •    CSharp

A Shader Graph enables you to build shaders visually. Instead of hand writing code you create and connect nodes in a graph network. The graph framework gives instant feedback on the changes, and it’s simple enough that new users can become involved in shader creation. This repository is under active development. Everything is subject to change. The master branch is our current development branch and may not work on the latest publicly available version of Unity. Unless you intend to modify Shader Graph or want to try out the very latest and unsupported features, we recommend that you acquire Shader Graph through the Unity Package Manager.

ml-agents - Unity Machine Learning Agents

  •    CSharp

Unity Machine Learning Agents (ML-Agents) is an open-source Unity plugin that enables games and simulations to serve as environments for training intelligent agents. Agents can be trained using reinforcement learning, imitation learning, neuroevolution, or other machine learning methods through a simple-to-use Python API. We also provide implementations (based on TensorFlow) of state-of-the-art algorithms to enable game developers and hobbyists to easily train intelligent agents for 2D, 3D and VR/AR games. These trained agents can be used for multiple purposes, including controlling NPC behavior (in a variety of settings such as multi-agent and adversarial), automated testing of game builds and evaluating different game design decisions pre-release. ML-Agents is mutually beneficial for both game developers and AI researchers as it provides a central platform where advances in AI can be evaluated on Unity’s rich environments and then made accessible to the wider research and game developer communities. For more information, in addition to installation and usage instructions, see our documentation home. If you have used a version of ML-Agents prior to v0.3, we strongly recommend our guide on migrating to v0.3.
