Bee2evp - An OpenSSL engine

  •    C

Bee2evp is a cryptographic library which encapsulates Bee2 into OpenSSL. Bee2evp provides cryptographic services using the EVP interface. Bee2evp is organized as an OpenSSL engine.

wolfssl - (formerly CyaSSL) is a small, fast, portable implementation of TLS/SSL for embedded devices to the cloud

  •    C

The wolfSSL embedded SSL library (formerly CyaSSL) is a lightweight SSL/TLS library written in ANSI C and targeted for embedded, RTOS, and resource-constrained environments - primarily because of its small size, speed, and feature set. It is commonly used in standard operating environments as well because of its royalty-free pricing and excellent cross platform support.

Boringssl - Fork of OpenSSL that is designed to meet Google's needs

  •    C

BoringSSL is a fork of OpenSSL that is designed to meet Google's needs. BoringSSL arose because Google used OpenSSL for many years in various ways and, over time, built up a large number of patches that were maintained while tracking upstream OpenSSL. As Google's product portfolio became more complex, more copies of OpenSSL sprung up and the effort involved in maintaining all these patches in multiple places was growing steadily.

MIHCrypto - OpenSSL wrapper for Objective-C [cryptography]

  •    Objective-C

OpenSSL is the most powerful SSL and TLS library available which wraps a full cryptographic library. The library is written in pure C and due to its endless size and not-so-well-designed C interface it is very hard for beginners to step into it. The aim of the MIHCrypto library is to provide an object-oriented interface which allows developers to write simple and clean code by still using the power of the OpenSSL libCrypto library. OpenSSL is a very large library so (yet) not the whole library is wrapped by MIHCrypto. Since I am developing the library because personal needs focus of the functionallity is on modern cryptographic apporaches, but everybody is welcome to contribute other parts to the library.

OpenSSL - Toolkit for SSL and TLS

  •    C

The OpenSSL Project is a collaborative effort to develop a robust, commercial-grade, full-featured, and Open Source toolkit implementing the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL v2/v3) and Transport Layer Security (TLS v1) protocols as well as a full-strength general purpose cryptography library.

pyopenssl - A Python wrapper around the OpenSSL library

  •    Python

Note: The Python Cryptographic Authority strongly suggests the use of pyca/cryptography where possible. If you are using pyOpenSSL for anything other than making a TLS connection you should move to cryptography and drop your pyOpenSSL dependency. ... and much more.

cipherscan - A very simple way to find out which SSL ciphersuites are supported by a target.

  •    Python

Cipherscan tests the ordering of the SSL/TLS ciphers on a given target, for all major versions of SSL and TLS. It also extracts some certificates informations, TLS options, OCSP stapling and more. Cipherscan is a wrapper above the openssl s_client command line.Cipherscan is meant to run on all flavors of unix. It ships with its own built of OpenSSL for Linux/64 and Darwin/64. On other platform, it will use the openssl version provided by the operating system (which may have limited ciphers support), or your own version provided in the -o command line flag.

SSLsplit - Transparent SSL/TLS interception

  •    C

SSLsplit is a tool for man-in-the-middle attacks against SSL/TLS encrypted network connections. It is intended to be useful for network forensics, application security analysis and penetration testing. SSLsplit is designed to transparently terminate connections that are redirected to it using a network address translation engine. SSLsplit then terminates SSL/TLS and initiates a new SSL/TLS connection to the original destination address, while logging all data transmitted.

python-ecdsa - pure-python ECDSA signature/verification

  •    Python

This is an easy-to-use implementation of ECDSA cryptography (Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm), implemented purely in Python, released under the MIT license. With this library, you can quickly create keypairs (signing key and verifying key), sign messages, and verify the signatures. The keys and signatures are very short, making them easy to handle and incorporate into other protocols. This library provides key generation, signing, and verifying, for five popular NIST "Suite B" GF(p) curves, with key lengths of 192, 224, 256, 384, and 521 bits. The "short names" for these curves, as known by the OpenSSL tool (openssl ecparam -list_curves), are: prime192v1, secp224r1, prime256v1, secp384r1, and secp521r1. It also includes the 256-bit curve used by Bitcoin, whose short name is secp256k1. No other curves are included, but it would not be too hard to add more.

node-bignum - Big integers for Node.js using OpenSSL

  •    Javascript

Arbitrary precision integral arithmetic for Node.js using OpenSSL. This library is based on node-bigint by substack, but instead of using libgmp, it uses the builtin bignum functionality provided by OpenSSL. The advantage is that OpenSSL is already part of Node.js, so this library does not add any external dependency whatsoever.

ios-openssl - Port of OpenSSL for iOS

  •    Objective-C

I am not supporting this project anymore. I have removed precompiled binaries and releases. OpenSSL is not a good choice for getting access to crypto primitives or for SSL/TLS networking in iOS applications.

mesalink - MesaLink is a memory-safe and OpenSSL-compatible TLS library.

  •    Rust

MesaLink is a memory-safe and OpenSSL-compatible TLS library. Since 2014, the industry has seen a huge impact and loss due to memory vulnerabilities in TLS stacks; such as the infamous "Heartbleed" bug. MesaLink is born with the goal of eradicating memory vulnerabilities in TLS stacks; and it is written in Rust, a programming language that guarantees memory safety. This significantly reduces the attack surfaces; which further facilitates auditing and restricting the remaining attack surfaces. MesaLink is cross-platform and provides OpenSSL-compatible APIs. It works seamlessly in desktop, mobile, and IoT devices. With the growth of the ecosystem, MesaLink would also be adopted in the server environment in the future. To get better functionality along with strong security guarantees, MesaLink follows the following rules-of-thumb for hybrid memory-safe architecture designing proposed by the Rust SGX SDK project.

Keyczar - Toolkit for safe and simple cryptography

  •    Java

KeyczarKeyczar is an open source cryptographic toolkit designed to make it easier and safer for devlopers to use cryptography in their applications. Keyczar supports authentication and encryption with both symmetric and asymmetric keys. Keyczar was originally developed by members of the Google Security Team.

cargo-generate - cargo, make me a project

  •    Rust

cargo-generate is a developer tool to help you get up and running quickly with a new Rust project by leveraging a pre-existing git repository as a template. See the openssl-sys crate readme on how to obtain the OpenSSL library for your system. Alternatively, use the vendored-openssl flag if you do not want to install OpenSSL.

openssl_for_ios_and_android - OpenSSL Library for iOS and Android

  •    C

This a static library compile from openssl and cURL for iOS and Android. OpenSSL for Android is build with libz support using dynamic link. libz is publically provided by Android system.

bud - Bud - The TLS Terminator

  •    C

A TLS terminator for superheroes.Bud is implemented fully in C, with the exception to the tests which are running on node.js. The networking level is provided by libuv, and the SSL implementation by OpenSSL 1.0.2h.

heartleech - Demonstrates the "heartbleed" problem using full OpenSSL stack

  •    C

This is tricky. The Makefile is likely to fail. This project uses the ssl3_write_bytes() function in order to send heartbeats encrypted after the SSL handshake is complete. This function is sometimes exported in OpenSSL libraries, and sometimes not.

  •    C

Python wrapper around a small subset of the OpenSSL library. Includes: X509 Certificates, SSL Context objects, SSL Connection objects using Python sockets as transport layer. The Connection object wraps all the socket methods and can therefore be use
