nwmap is basically a Perl script which takes a PCAP file as input and identifies valid subnets in the file. It then assumes a netmask of /24 and searches all those subnets for live IPs. It then groups all the IP addresses based on the number of hops. Requirements Make sure you have the following: sort host(DNS lookup) nmap(Port scanner) tcptraceroute(traceroute to IP addresses) Tshark(Network sniffer)
AIEngine is a packet inspection engine with capabilities of learning without any human intervention. AIEngine helps network/security profesionals to identify traffic and develop signatures for use them on NIDS, Firewalls, Traffic classifiers and so on or use them on the engine automatically.
Packet Auth. Sniffer (or Sequence) Allows you to set on your server this little daemon (pasmal) monitoring tcp/ip amp; icmp, and on the exact good sequence (the one you only know) run processes (a firewall) - such as access list update, iptables, ipchains.
Sniffdet is an Open Source implementation of a set of tests for remote sniffers detection on TCP/IP network environments. It's composed of a flexible library (libsniffdet) and an application to run the tests.
Snort is an open source network intrusion prevention and detection system (IDS/IPS) developed by Sourcefire. Snort can perform protocol analysis and content searching/matching. It can be used to detect a variety of attacks and probes, such as buffer overflows, stealth port scans, CGI attacks, SMB probes, OS fingerprinting attempts, and much more.
justniffer is a TCP sniffer. It reassembles and reorders packets and displays the tcp flow in a customizable way. It can log network traffic in web server log format. It can also log network services performances (e.g. web server response times) and extract http content (images, html, scripts, etc)
tcpick is a textmode sniffer; it tracks tcp streams, shows the status, reassembles and saves the data captured in files or displays them in the terminal in different modes (ascii, hex..). There is a color-mode. Useful to get files passively.
echolot implements a packet sniffer that grabs ARP packets on any ethernet devices. This empowers your boxlt;brgt; * to detect intruders (new mac in lan)lt;brgt; * to find your boxes on foreign lans (known mac in lan)
authgrab is an Authentication Credential Sniffer. It sniffs network traffic from the network interface and attempts to locate various protocol session's authentication information as it traverses the network.
Angry IP Scanner (or simply ipscan) is an open-source and cross-platform network scanner designed to be fast and simple to use. It scans IP addresses and ports and it is widely used by network administrators.
Integrated packet generator and sniffer for Ethernet, but also works with blocks of data over TCP connection. Enables you to use scripts for automated testing, monitoring, imitating of various network objects, creating custom network tools.
netsniff-ng is a free Linux networking toolkit, a Swiss army knife for your daily Linux network plumbing if you will. Its gain of performance is reached by zero-copy mechanisms, so that on packet reception and transmission the kernel does not need to copy packets from kernel space to user space and vice versa.
