image-builder-rpi - SD card image for Raspberry Pi with Docker: HypriotOS

  •        17

You can build the SD card image locally with Vagrant. Make sure you have vagrant installed. Then run the following command to create the Vagrant box and use the Vagrant Docker daemon. The Vagrant box is needed to run guestfish inside. Use export VAGRANT_DEFAULT_PROVIDER=virtualbox to strictly create a VirtualBox VM.

flash - Command line script to flash SD card images of any kind

  •    Shell

Command line script to flash SD card images of any kind. Note that for some devices (e.g. Raspberry Pi), at the end of the flashing process the tool tries to customize the SD card e.g. it configures a hostname or WiFi. And with a cloud-init enabled image you can do much more like adding users, SSH keys etc.

PiShrink - Make your pi images smaller!

  •    Shell

PiShrink is a bash script that automatically shrink a pi image that will then resize to the max size of the SD card on boot. This will make putting the image back onto the SD card faster and the shrunk images will compress better. If the -s option is given the script will skip the autoexpanding part of the process. If you specify the newimagefile.img parameter, the script will make a copy of imagefile.img and work off that. You will need enough space to make a full copy of the image to use that option.

jekyll-docker - :ship: Docker images and builders for Jekyll.

  •    Shell

The standard images (jekyll/jekyll) include a default set of "dev" packages, along with Node.js, and other stuff that makes Jekyll easy. It also includes a bunch of default gems that the community wishes us to maintain on the image. The builder image comes with extra stuff that is not included in the standard image, like lftp, openssh and other extra packages meant to be used by people who are deploying their Jekyll builds to another server with a CI.

piui - Add a UI to your standalone Raspberry Pi project using your Android phone

  •    Javascript

Download the piui_plus_examples.zip file from github.com/dps/piui-sdcards. Unzip it and you'll find a 4Gb sd card image named piui_plus_examples.img. Write it to an SD card by following the usual Raspberry Pi instructions. At present, this image is based on Occidentalis 0.2. Assuming you have the same wifi adapter I do, this will work out of the box. If not, read the Pi-Point docs to configure for your own hardware.

raspberry-pi-os - Learning operating system development using Linux kernel and Raspberry Pi

  •    C

This repository contains a step-by-step guide that teaches how to create a simple operating system (OS) kernel from scratch. I call this OS Raspberry Pi OS or just RPi OS. The RPi OS source code is largely based on Linux kernel, but the OS has very limited functionality and supports only Raspberry PI 3. Each lesson is designed in such a way that it first explains how some kernel feature is implemented in the RPi OS, and then it tries to demonstrate how the same functionality works in the Linux kernel. Each lesson has a corresponding folder in the src directory, which contains a snapshot of the OS source code at the time when the lesson had just been completed. This allows the introduction of new concepts gracefully and helps readers to follow the evolution of the RPi OS. Understanding this guide doesn't require any specific OS development skills.

dockerception - Docker building dockers - keeping them small

  •    Go

Having an entirely self contained build process within docker is convenient. A downside is that doing this often means that there are build time dependencies that are carried over to your runtime e.g. the official golang builder docker weighs in at 514.8mb before you even add your project in. A better solution would be to be able to build a 'builder' docker image and then use that to construct a 'runtime' docker image. There is a proposal for nested builds: Proposal: Nested builds #7115, but it has been open for some time.

pi-timolo - Raspberry PI-TIMOLO ( PI-TImelapse, MOtion, LOwLight ) uses RPI picamera and python for Remote Headless Security Monitoring & Auto Sync files with rclone remote storage services

  •    Python

Requires a Raspberry Pi computer and a RPI camera module installed. Make sure hardware is tested and works. Most RPI models will work OK. A quad core RPI will greatly improve performance due to threading. A recent version of Raspbian operating system is Recommended. Step 1 With mouse left button highlight curl command in code box below. Right click mouse in highlighted area and Copy. Step 2 On RPI putty SSH or terminal session right click, select paste then Enter to download and run script.

dvm - An on demand Docker virtual machine, thanks to Vagrant and boot2docker

  •    Shell

An on demand Docker virtual machine, thanks to Vagrant and boot2docker. Works great on Macs and other platforms that don't natively support the Docker daemon. Under the covers this is downloading and booting Mitchell Hashimoto's boot2docker Vagrant Box image. The driving need for something like dvm was for running infrastructure testing, like Test Kitchen using the kitchen-docker driver. For the driver to work it needs access to all the dynamically assigned ports, not just the Docker daemon port. That's why dvm uses a private network segment and address (192.168.42.43 by default). Once Docker started supporting the DOCKER_HOST environment variable, the actual IP address was less important and consequently made the docker command on non-Linux distros feel almost native.

RasPiWrite - A Python Script that prepairs and installs a Raspberry Pi compatiable distro to an SD Card

  •    Python

RasPiWrite is a simple and easily modifiable Python script that automates the process of mounting an SD card and downloading and installing a Linux image for a Raspberry Pi. Either clone the git repository, or download the zip file.

Raspberry-PI-SD-Installer-OS-X - Shell Script for creating Raspberry PI SD card on OS X.

Select the disk to write the image to by selecting the disk number provided in the output. Wait for disk to finish writing. You can check the write progress with Ctrl+T.

img - Standalone, daemon-less, unprivileged Dockerfile and OCI compatible container image builder.

  •    Go

Standalone, daemon-less, unprivileged Dockerfile and OCI compatible container image builder. img is more cache-efficient than Docker and can also execute multiple build stages concurrently, as it internally uses BuildKit's DAG solver.

source-to-image - A tool for building/building artifacts from source and injecting into docker images

  •    Go

Source-to-Image (S2I) is a toolkit and workflow for building reproducible Docker images from source code. S2I produces ready-to-run images by injecting source code into a Docker container and letting the container prepare that source code for execution. By creating self-assembling builder images, you can version and control your build environments exactly like you use Docker images to version your runtime environments. For a deep dive on S2I you can view this presentation.

noobs - NOOBS (New Out Of Box Software) - An easy Operating System install manager for the Raspberry Pi

  •    Makefile

NOOBS is designed to make it easy to select and install operating systems for the Raspberry Pi without having to worry about manually imaging your SD card. *NOTE: The list of OSes in this image is indicative only. It will vary according to your Raspberry Pi model and the availability of OSes on our remote download repository.

gokrazy - a pure-Go userland for your Raspberry Pi 3 appliances

  •    Go

gokrazy packs your Go application(s) into an SD card image for the Raspberry Pi 3 which — aside from the Linux kernel and proprietary Raspberry Pi bootloader — only contains Go software. The motivation is that @stapelberg spends way more time on C software and their various issues than he would like. Hence, he is going Go-only where feasible.

pimusicbox - An image (SD-card) to turn the Raspberry Pi into an easy to use MusicBox with Spotify playback and AirTunes streaming

  •    Shell

Pi MusicBox is the Swiss Army Knife of streaming music on the Raspberry Pi. With Pi MusicBox, you can create a cheap (Sonos-like) standalone streaming music player for Spotify and other online music services. Copyright 2013-2017 Wouter van Wijk and contributors.

raspap-webgui - A simple, responsive web interface to control wifi and hostapd on the Raspberry Pi

  •    PHP

A simple, responsive web interface to control wifi, hostapd and related services on the Raspberry Pi. This project was inspired by a blog post by SirLagz about using a web page rather than ssh to configure wifi and hostapd settings on the Raspberry Pi. I mostly just prettified the UI by wrapping it in SB Admin 2, a Bootstrap based admin theme. Since then, the project has evolved to include greater control over many aspects of a networked RPi, better security, authentication, a Quick Installer, support for themes and more. RaspAP has been featured on sites such as Instructables, Adafruit, Raspberry Pi Weekly and Awesome Raspberry Pi and implemented in countless projects.

dockramp - A Client Driven Docker Image Builder

  •    Go

Docker 1.8.0 will introduce a new API endpoint for copying files and directories into a container. With this addition, anyone can now implement their own build system using the Docker Remote API. Dockramp is the first proof of concept for an alternative to docker build.Builds will no longer wait to begin while your client uploads a (sometimes large) context directory to the Docker daemon. In Dockramp, files and directories are only transfered when they need to be: on a COPY or EXTRACT instruction. You'll notice that builds start much faster than they ever would have using docker build.

lanGhost - 👻 A LAN dropbox chatbot controllable via Telegram

  •    Python

lanGhost is designed for Raspberry Pis (Raspbian/Kali for RPi). Running it on other/desktop distros could cause issues and may not work as excepted. You will need a Raspberry Pi with fresh Raspbian/Kali on the SD card, because you don't want anything else running in the background.

aws-lambda-container-image-converter - The AWS Lambda container image converter tool (img2lambda) repackages container images (such as Docker images) into AWS Lambda layers, and publishes them as new layer versions

  •    Go

This container image converter tool (img2lambda) repackages container images (such as Docker images) into AWS Lambda layers, and publishes them as new layer versions to Lambda. The tool copies all files under '/opt' in the Docker image, maintaining the individual Docker image layers as individual Lambda layers. The published layer ARNs will be stored in a file 'output/layers.json', which can be used as input when creating Lambda functions. Each layer is named using a "namespace" prefix (like img2lambda or my-docker-image) and the SHA256 digest of the Docker image layer, in order to provide a way of tracking the provenance of the Lambda layer back to the Docker image that created it.

docker - Docker Official Image packaging for Docker

  •    Shell

This is the Git repo of the Docker "Official Image" for docker (not to be confused with any official docker image provided by docker upstream). See the Docker Hub page for the full readme on how to use this Docker image and for information regarding contributing and issues. The full description from Docker Hub is generated over in docker-library/docs, specifically in docker-library/docs/docker.
