FBGraphics (FBG) is a simple C 24 bpp graphics library for the Linux framebuffer with parallelism support. The library is relatively generic, most functions (including parallel ones) only manipulate buffers, it should be easy to extract some parts and adapt it to other means, you may want to check fbg_setup fbg_draw fbg_flipand fbg_close for that.

DiligentEngine - Master repository for Diligent Engine project

  •    C++

Diligent Engine is a lightweight cross-platform abstraction layer between the application and the platform-specific graphics API designed to take advantages of next-generation APIs such as Direct3D12 and Vulkan, while providing support for older platforms via Direct3D11, OpenGL and OpenGLES. Diligent Engine exposes common front-end for all supported platforms and provides interoperability with underlying native API. Shader source code converter allows HLSL shaders to be used on all supported platforms and rendering backends. The engine is intended to be used as a graphics subsystem in a game engine or any other 3D application, and supports integration with Unity. Diligent Engine is distributed under Apache 2.0 license and is free to use. Alternatively, you can get master repository fisrt, and then individually clone all submodules into the engine's root folder.

datoviz - ⚡ High-performance GPU interactive scientific data visualization with Vulkan

  •    C

Datoviz is an open-source high-performance interactive scientific data visualization library leveraging the graphics processing unit (GPU) for speed, visual quality, and scalability. It supports both 2D and 3D rendering, as well as minimal graphical user interfaces (using the Dear ImGUI library). Written in C, Datoviz has been designed from the ground up for performance. It provides native Python bindings (based on Cython). Bindings to other languages could be developed thanks to community efforts (Julia, R, MATLAB, Rust, C#, and so on). Datoviz uses the Vulkan graphics API created by the Khronos consortium, successor of OpenGL. Supporting other modern graphics API, such as WebGPU, would constitute interesting developments.

incanter - Clojure-based, R-like statistical computing and graphics environment for the JVM

  •    Clojure

Incanter is a Clojure-based, R-like statistical computing and graphics environment for the JVM. At the core of Incanter are the Parallel Colt numerics library, a multithreaded version of Colt, and the JFreeChart charting library, as well as several other Java and Clojure libraries. The motivation for creating Incanter is to provide a JVM-based statistical computing and graphics platform with R-like semantics and interactive-programming environment. Running on the JVM provides access to the large number of existing Java libraries for data access, data processing, and presentation. Clojure’s seamless integration with Java makes leveraging these libraries much simpler than is possible in R, and Incanter’s R-like semantics makes statistical programming much simpler than is possible in pure Java.

Adafruit-GFX-Library - Adafruit GFX graphics core library, this is the 'core' class that all our other graphics libraries derive from

  •    C

This is the core graphics library for all our displays, providing a common set of graphics primitives (points, lines, circles, etc.). It needs to be paired with a hardware-specific library for each display device we carry (to handle the lower-level functions). Written by Limor Fried/Ladyada for Adafruit Industries. BSD license, check license.txt for more information. All text above must be included in any redistribution.

CoreTextWrapper - An Objective-C wrapper around Core Text for creating multi-column text and loading custom fonts

  •    Objective-C

One of the most promising and mysterious new frameworks introduced in iOS 3.2 is Core Text. Apple defines Core Text as a “text drawing engine”, which allows Mac (and now iPad) apps to render rich text on any graphics context. Strings drawn with Core Text feature lots of custom settings such as detailed font information, columns, variable line and paragraph heights and several different attributes, which designers and font aficionados surely understand much better than I do. Many new apps have been using this framework since the release of the iPad, particularly newspapers and ebook reader applications, rendering gorgeous text in custom fonts, many of them not available natively in iOS. This framework is also used in lifestyle and corporate applications, too, where using a custom font is sometimes required to match the specifications of brands and trademarks. It is very important to understand that Core Text is really just a text drawing engine to be used on top of Quartz (Core Graphics), to render rich text on any graphics context. Core Text cannot be used to create a rich text editor, for example, so don’t expect to extend UITextView with it. But you can use it to draw any kind of rich text on screen, which can make you avoid using UIWebView instances for that.
