android-yolo - Real-time object detection on Android using the YOLO network with TensorFlow

  •    C++

android-yolo is the first implementation of YOLO for TensorFlow on an Android device. It is compatible with Android Studio and usable out of the box. It can detect the 20 classes of objects in the Pascal VOC dataset: aeroplane, bicycle, bird, boat, bottle, bus, car, cat, chair, cow, dining table, dog, horse, motorbike, person, potted plant, sheep, sofa, train and tv/monitor. The network only outputs one predicted bounding box at a time for now. The code can and will be extended in the future to output several predictions. To use this demo first clone the repository. Download the TensorFlow YOLO model and put it in android-yolo/app/src/main/assets. Then open the project on Android Studio. Once the project is open you can run the project on your Android device using the Run 'app' command and selecting your device.

FlutterCinematic - Flutter clone of my "Cinematic" App

  •    Dart

This app is a Flutter port of the native Android App Cinematic. My intention in creating this app was understanding the intricacies of building apps in Flutter. Just like the native Android App this app does not make any efforts in being a nicely architectured application. That being said the whole point is to showcase Flutter's capabilities for building simple apps and to understand key difference and advantages to native development. The app uses the Movie DB Public API as a data sources and uses the standard dart libraries for making network requests.

open-event-android - Open Event Android App Generator https://github

  •    Java

The Open Event Android project consists of two components. The App Generator is a web application that is hosted on a server and generates an event Android app from a zip with JSON and binary files (examples here) or through an API. The second component we are developing in the project is a generic Android app - the output of the app generator. The mobile app can be installed on any Android device for browsing information about the event. Updates can be made automatically through API endpoint connections from an online source (e.g. server), which needs to defined in the provided event zip with the JSON files. The Android app has a standard configuration file, that sets the details of the app (e.g. color scheme, logo of event, link to JSON app data). A) A standard configuration file, that sets the details of the app (e.g. color scheme, logo of event, link to JSON app data). A sample of the JSON format is maintained in the Open Event Repository.

Essentials - General purpose utilities and hash functions for Android and Java (aka java-common)

  •    Java

Essentials are a collection of general-purpose classes we found useful in many occasions. This project is bare bones compared to a rich menu offered by Guava or Apache Commons. Essentials is not a framework, it's rather a small set of utilities to make Java standard approaches more convenient or more efficient.

talon-for-twitter-android - The Material Design version of my popular Android Talon for Twitter app, 100% open-source

  •    Java

This is the complete version of the Twitter client that I created for Android. It is 100% open source, the only thing that you will have to do plug in is your own API keys. I am lucky enough to say that, as a paid app, Talon has perched itself at the top of the top paid social apps list since it's release in 2014. It has amassed 100,000+ downloads while holding a 4.6 star rating on the Play Store. This app is one of the more successful apps I have ever made and I am open sourcing it as a "thank you" to everyone that has supported my work over the years! It works great and I'm proud to say that it can probably be considered one of the most popular third party Twitter apps.

AboutLibraries - AboutLibraries is a library to offer some information of libraries.

  •    Java

The AboutLibraries library allows you to easily create an used open source libraries fragment/activity within your app. As an extra feature you can also add an about this app section. Most modern apps feature a "Used Library"-section, which requires information about those respective libs. As it gets annoying to always copy those strings to your app, I've developed this small helper library to provide the required information.
